After practicing for another hour I am close to giving up on the auditory illusion. I have not been able to get any closer yet to getting it right. If I open my eyes, I can slowly strip away one visual element at a time until only the sounds are left but that is not something that would be able to trick anybody if I had to do that every time. 

"So, do you think that if you try somebody's voice that you are not quite as familiar with then you might have some more luck? It just seems like every time you try to recreate his voice it comes with a visual of your bedroom. Maybe somebody that you have talked with here would be a good start? Then you wouldn't have to visualize anywhere other than where you are standing. It might be kinda like cheating but if you can do that then I am sure that it might help you get to where you can do it with other sounds as well." Julia suggests again.
