As I walk back to the party I see everybody still having a good time. While talking with Elle has made me feel slightly better about my past and I understand her much better, I am still not sure that me being here is the best option for the pack. Even my own cousin might be leaving the pack to keep her pup safe. If she can leave then what is going to happen with the rest of the pack? Are they all going to start leaving as well?
Taking a deep breath, I walk over to Dante again. Out of the corner of my eye, I can see Elle heading off towards her house now. Tomorrow morning I will have to go and meet her for another lesson. Until then, I need to spend some time with my werewolf half. I need my mate and my pack mates to keep me busy.
We end up moving inside the pack house and starting up games and movies once again. Even though I have not yet finished watching the Star Wars movies I instead head for the dart board. I need something a little more distracting than sitting in
Obviously a massage is not all that Dante had in mind when I handed him that oil. He apparently thought that after he massaged me he would be able to have his way with me. Well, sadly for him, I fell asleep during the massage. Completely passed out. Poor guy must have been bummed when he realized that I was sleeping so soundly. The next morning I awake extremely relaxed thanks to the absolutely angelic hands of my mate. I slept amazingly after the massage that he gave me. Rolling over, I take in his face while he sleeps. He is so cute and innocent in his sleep. To be fair he is never mean or unjust during the day but while sleeping it seems as if all of the stress just melts away.Leaning forward, I place a kiss on his lips with the intention of getting up and going for a run right after. As I go to sit up his arms sneak around me like he has other ideas than an early morning job."You do not get to fall asleep on me last night and then not wake me up this morni
As I walk to Elle's new house I notice that while people are still smiling at me and welcoming me back they are also giving me a funny look after I pass them. What is this all about? I am going to have to see if Scarlett can learn anything when I am done with my lesson. I do not want the pack to think badly of me.Elle is out in her garden helping the plants to grow when I arrive. Wordlessly, I get to work helping her. It is apparent that somebody has been tending this garden for a little while now but they are most definitely not witches so in just a short while we are able to help the garden look lush and vibrant."Well, what all are we going to work on today?" I ask her."Illusions. I want you to be able to trick someone into thinking that they are seeing something other than what they are. There is a way to do it to only one person or a way to do it to many. Each type of illusion has a different difficulty level. Making only one person see something requires
The talk with Kiba goes easier than expected when I finally get myself to make the awful call. Even though I know that it is still up to Scarlett and that it will be much safer for her and the pup, I do not want my cousin to have to go and stay that far away. I do remember that her and Natalie were good friends before she moved to the Red Moon Pack though so that should make it easier on Scarlett. "Hey, Kiba. How are Natalie and the baby doing?" I ask him. "Nice to hear from you Laina. They are doing great. The little one is going to start running before we know it. I swear that I saw a little tail pop out of its diaper the other day." He says with a chuckle. "Wow, really? That seems really fast. Is Natalie handling that thought alright?" I ask him. "Well it is her first baby so she is excited and scared at the same time. We have plenty of other mothers here trying to support her whenever she needs it though. Even though the little one is going through partial shifting already it
For dinner Dante decides to make a taco bar with a few different proteins. There are steak, chicken and ground beef tacos for us all to choose from along with a variety of toppings. Somehow, he managed to get all of this ready in just over an hour for Scarlett and Quin to come over for dinner.Quin still has not said anything to Scarlett about moving to another pack so we are going to have to broach the topic very carefully. We do not want her to think that we want to get rid of her but that we are just worried about the safety of her and her pup."Laina, I am so happy to be here for dinner again. I love when our wonderful Alpha cooks for us. You got lucky with that one." Scarlett says to me."That I did. He is a decent cook isn't he." I say happily. We talk a little bit about how the pregnancy is going while we wait for the men to sit down at the table with us. I try to make subtle hints at needing to be careful of the pup when it is born. Sh
For some reason, I had expected more of an argument out of Scarlett so the fact that she does not argue much has me a little taken aback. Maybe now that she is thinking of a little one she realizes that she has to put her safety first for a while. Whatever the reason, I am a little relieved that she saw the sense in moving. The rest of dinner passed in a melancholy silence with the knowledge that some of our pack members were going to be leaving for the forseeable future. No matter how well thought out the reasoning is, the thought of them leaving has me on the verge of tears for the rest of dinner and looking at Scarlett I can tell that she is as well."I am really going to miss you guys. I hope that you know that. Scarlett, not only were you the first family member that I have met after all of these years but you are also the first friend that I have ever made. Even before my parents were killed I did not have friends but you were somehow so easy to talk
Even though I have known for a few days now that Scarlett and Quin will be leaving the pack for a while, it still catches me off guard when the time finally comes just a few days later. Even though with my classes that I teach and the witch lessons that I take, I am completely booked at all times, I still managed to take her shopping before she leaves. As the closest relative still alive I take it upon myself to buy all kinds of baby items and gifts to decorate their new place. This way even when I am not there they can still think of me. Not knowing if the baby is a boy or girl really made shopping difficult but I somehow managed to find quite a few items that I would love to see for her child to grow up with.Overall, we spent every spare moment together leading up to them heading out. I even went so far this morning as to help them pack up their truck. The feeling is bittersweet watching them get ready to leave but I am thrilled that their baby is going to be given
"Morden!" I yell as I skid to a stop a few feet away. She turns towards me looking shocked at my obvious speed to get here before they could try anything. As my anger at her targeting my pack and family grows, the clouds in the sky start to darken. Elle always warned me that my anger could effect the weather since I have such control over the elements. Maybe today they will learn what all I am capable of. "Laina, how nice to see you. I was under the impression that you left the pack." Morden says spitefully. "No, you knew fully well that I was back. You sent some of your witches after me the day that I came back here. I know that they told you that I was heading back home. What do you want?" I ask her as the wind picks up. Her eyes widen as she looks around at the weather and then back at me. "I want just what I told you the last time that I saw you. I want you in my Coven. I need you to help me establish peace amongst the wolf packs." She says. Huh, I almost believe her. Sadly fo
Morden struggles to fight me off but I caught her slightly off guard by landing on her the way that I did. She has a shield up that I have no idea how to get around but since she has not yet managed to regain her confidence I might have a chance of finding a way around it. "Laina, her shield will not hold forever. Just keep going and it will break. It is air." Elle yells from behind me. Just air? I can handle that. Heck, I can make one of my own. At the thought of it I wrap myself in my own shield of air as I swing my knife towards her. She manages to block it in time as she regains her composure. Throwing me off of her with a blast of air, I manage to land only a couple of feet away on my feet. "I see that you have been practicing using the elements. That is smart since you can do almost anything you want with them. Still, I have been practicing for much longer so you might have to work a little harder if you want to be able to beat me." Morden snarls. "I do not want to beat you
