5. A new day

It wasn't until dark that I, Daisy, and the three maids who had just moved into Curie's house had completed all the tasks. Lying on the bed, I and Daisy were so tired that I just wanted to sleep right away. I feel terrible if I quickly fall asleep because when I open my eyes it will be a new day and I will have to keep repeating this heavy work sequence. I really feel this is terrible.

I thought of that and quickly sat up, then I patted my cheek a few times to help regain my awareness. Then I looked at Daisy and noticed that she was sleeping soundly. Daisy is quite small and weak, so her physical strength is not enough to do these heavy jobs for a long time. I wish the old maids there weren't so lazy and cruel that they put all the work on our heads.

Right now, the old maids were still full of energy chatting with each other because they hadn't touched on any heavy work all day. I thought about it and sighed quietly. Unknowingly, my gaze returned to Daisy's small and beautiful face.

I had originally wanted to ask Daisy out to get some fresh air, but seeing her so tired and sleeping soundly, I gave up on this idea. So I pretended like I had a stomach ache and had to go to the bathroom to sneak out. I finally managed to get out of that stuffy room. The old maids were still busy laughing and joking with each other and didn't care about my leaving. This was so good!

The air in the villa's premises in the evening is so fresh. I can smell the grass under my feet, along with the scent of lily flowers in my nose. The night dew is so cold that I sometimes shiver and have to put my hands on my small shoulders. The sky is full of stars right now, so I look at the North Star, Polaris, shining overhead.

My hometown is located in the north, so just by looking at this constellation, I can determine the direction of my hometown. Turning my eyes in that direction, in my heart I really miss my mother and sister.

That's exactly the cat in the barn with the locked girl. By now, my sweat was dripping from my forehead, and I just wanted to quickly pick a purple water morning glory flower before hurrying back to my room.

However, before I did that, I suddenly heard a clear sound coming from the warehouse. That girl's voice was extremely affectionate, causing the scary scene before my eyes to fade away. If the people in the mansion find out about this cat, they will kill it immediately! ”

Then I quickly left and thought about the words that the girl had just said. Is that cat named "Black Shadow" really her only friend? I don't know why she's locked up in such a dark, dirty, and secluded warehouse in such a luxurious mansion and feel scared about it. However, I did not dare investigate this further and just wanted to quickly find the other cat to pay the girl. After that, I thought I would never go closer to the area next to this warehouse again because it was too risky to do so. If Mrs. White or Madam Anna or any of the maids in this mansion find out that I have sneaked there, I will be fired immediately, and I really don't want this at all.

I tried to find the cat in the dark and found it sitting in the hallway in front of me. The cat has jet black and shiny fur. This cat's fur is so beautiful that it reflects the light on the wall, and the cat is quietly licking its paws. When the cat spotted me, the cat started to run away, and the place it was running to was the maid's room. However, the cat stopped at the door of the room and ran out into the yard, where there was an aquarium there. I thought maybe the cat was thirsty.

Just as I was about to run to the lake to grab the cat, I heard a commotion in the maid's room for the maids serving Mrs. Luna. This sound made it impossible for me to continue catching the cat.
