Chapter 178

Clutching Megan like his life depended on it, he inhaled her scent deeply, feeling the flaming effects of her presence. “I didn't kill them, it was all a lie," he muttered in drunkenness.

Megan had never seen him so low. Alex was always put together and in control. But she saw him at his worst, barely able to hold the tears that made his eyes glisten.

“Come on, let's talk you home," she replied softly and hurled him off the couch of the club, trying her best to steady his much larger frame with her smaller one.

“Do you believe me?" He kept whispering, his voice just above a whisper, his eyes dark and hazy, like he was even aware of where he was or what he was doing. He was all focused on her and she nodded. “Let's go home, Alex, please," she said.
