Emma was struggling.

With work, her thoughts, and a tight schedule, she had tried to juggle everything, including taking care of Ryan, but she hardly had time to sleep these days. Rowan couldn’t help but notice how tired she was when he picked them up. He made sure she was comfortable enough in the company, and he made sure to cut any negative rumors about Emma. Especially now that he was driving her back home from work, she and Ryan were passed out in almost the same sleeping position.

Both worn out for the day, Rowan reached home, but let them spend a few minutes in the car before Emma had tossed around, waking up when she was conscious to notice that this wasn’t her bed.

She opened her eyes to see Rowan staring at her, making her feel embarrassed that she was too tired to even notice they had reached home for a while. Rowan had a certain look on his face when he was thinking, "Emma, you seem tired mostly these days."
