ALEXANDRA

“It's a massive success” Mrs Valeria namely the queen of this town and the proud CEO of the largest bar and hotel in the country was saying over the classical music in the background, her poise proud and snobbish.

Oh right, and she was also the one who had given me the contract to prepare this party tonight.

I stood beside her, looking smaller compared to her taller frame.

“I'm glad to be the one to whom you entrusted this,” I said, bowing slightly as a sign of respect

She didn't pay any heed to me, her hand wrapped around the wine glass and her smoky eyes surveying around her guests.

“I sent the cheque already… oh Mr. Harry, such a pleasure to see you…” she exclaimed and she was gone.

Sighing, I straightened up and looked around the venue. It was filled with people, the rich kind, the type who threw money about. This was the kind of parties where only the most successful businessmen and women attended. The only reason why I was here was because I was the event planner who got the contract and I wanted to make sure that everything went right.

The air was heavy with the smell of cologne and dollars.

My gaze fell on each person that I could see, taking their appearance in. How did it feel to have so much money at your disposal?

Sighing, I turned around to find a secluded place to sit when I bumped into someone.

“Oh, I'm sorry” I quickly said, bowing repeatedly.

I knew how it was to annoy someone from parties like this. They were used to walking all over people like me and I had to swallow it in if I wanted to keep my job.

The person was awfully silent yet I was aware of their presence so I slowly looked up and gasped. Oh shit, just when I thought this night couldn't get any worse.

It was Ronan. Namely one of the city's most wanted bachelors and the CEO of some accessory company.

“I've never seen you before” his deep voice rumbled as he looked me over, his brown eyes resting on my face after a look over.

I straightened and cleared my throat.

“I'm really sorry for bumping into you,” I said again, trying to remain professional.

He looked me over again shamelessly, his cufflinks gleaming in the soft light.

“You look… normal” he finally said.

Normal meaning poor. I wasn't poor though but what I had didn't hold a candle to what he did. I wasn't dressed as someone important either for fear that Mrs Valeria would accuse me of wanting to steal the spotlight of her important guests.

“I'm not a guest. I'm the event planner” I said to him.

He let out a soft hum and then smirked.

“I would like to have some time in private with you tonight,” he said, licking his lips slowly.

Ah, this was something the news didn't teach the ladies pining over him. He was a pervert.

“No, thank you. I have a lot of work to do after this” I quickly said, itching to get away

He frowned and then quickly smiled again. “Oh well, I can't force you but at least let me get you a drink” He offered.

I fidgeted nervously. I wasn't used to being rude to people so I just nodded slightly.

“Thank you”, I said.

“Wait right here” he left my presence and a few minutes later, he returned with a glass of Armand de Brignac Midas. Touché

“Thanks”, I said meekly, collecting the glass from him, and wrapping my slender fingers around the cool glass.

He was watching me silently and I felt nervous under his gaze. “To your amazing job at hosting this party,” he said then took a sip of his just as I nodded and took a swig of mine.

For some reason, he was still staring at me silently and I wanted to leave his presence when he suddenly spoke up. “My hotel room… is not well suited to my taste and I intend to go there soon. Please check it out and do something about it. I think something's wrong with the hot water. Room 302. Make it snappy” he said then he walked away.

Rude!.

Sighing, I dropped the wine glass on a nearby empty table and took out the master key card from my pocket before leaving the bustling hall to the attached rooms.

Not wanting to bother any of my employees, I was going to check on it myself, the hotel in itself was big which was why I was able to organize a party in the hall and still book rooms for all guests as I knew most of them would wait behind.

The hallways were empty as I walked towards his room.

A sudden dizzy spell hit me as I neared his room. What the hell? I staggered backward, my eyelids feeling heavy.

I was beginning to see the world around me blurry. I needed water, I needed to wash my face and get rid of whatever was happening to me.

Squinting my eyes in the dim light, I looked at the door I was standing in front of unsure if I was the right one.

With a trembling hand, I sloppily slid the key card through the slot repeatedly, as I felt myself slowly lose control. No, what the hell was happening? I felt like jelly and my legs wobbled

Why wouldn't the goddamn door open?

Just as I was about to crumble against the door, the door opened and someone was standing in the doorway.

I was seeing things and my speech came out slurred as I struggled to make sense of what was around me but failed miserably.

“You asked for me?” I asked drowsily as I struggled to make out the person through my quivering eyes.

The person didn't move an inch but just said.

“You're the one?”

Fuck, that was a really attractive voice. It was like all my reasoning had been thrown out the window at that.

“Yep,” I affirmed with a giggle.

The person sighed and was still standing there.

“Let me in…” I drawled before I collapsed into his arms.
