"I want a divorce." Astrid presented her husband with the document first thing in the morning. She was done with enduring his cold treatment towards her and his stupid decision to bring back his childhood sweetheart into their home.
Rowan looked at the document with a frown on his face as he saw no reason why she would bring up such a matter.
"What do you mean by a divorce?" He questioned her with a stern voice. But Astrid was not having it with him.
"Are you deaf or something? This is our divorce papers. All you have to do is sign the document and you can marry your ex-girlfriend," Astrid raised her voice at him for the first time and he was taken aback by her sudden change.
"How can you say such a thing..." Victoria pretended to be hurt but Astrid glared at her.
"Oh shut up and stop with your drama. I know that you want my husband and I am delightfully handing him over to you," Astrid said. She was flaring with anger and pain as she uttered those words.
"Astrid!" Her husband thundered her name.
"Rowan! Sign the damn papers and you will never see me in your life again," she angrily spat out without fear.
Victoria scoffed at her and tried to take the divorce papers but Astrid forcefully shoved her aside and she fell to the ground bruising her left knee.
"Now you have a reason to divorce me, Rowan," She muttered.
Rowan took the papers from her and signed it without hesitation. "Don't regret this later," he said as he marked his signature on the required space.
"Trust me, I won't," she said and snatched it back from him once he was done.
Now she was free from all the pain and anxiety she suffered in a loveless marriage.
Astrid walked out of the house as a free born, smiling at her achievement. She left without taking any property as she had no use for them.
Once she was in her car, she instructed her driver to take her to the marriage custom office where she finalized their divorce.
The next minute she was out of the office, her phone rang. It was Rowan's Grandmother. She felt guilty for carrying out the whole process without telling her about it.
But she had to if she truly wanted to divorce her husband.
She answered her phone and her Grandma's voice cracked.
"Astrid, what happened? Please reclaim the..." She coughed so hard that Astrid became worried.
"Grandma, please where are you? I will get down to you and explain everything," she said holding back her tears as she didn't want to hurt the old lady.
"Come home," she said but Astrid had already made her choice.
"I can't Grandma. Rowan does not want me. He has someone he truly loves. I am sorry if I hurt you but your Grandson, I can't be with him anymore," she stated her mind before she ended the call.
As she walked out of the marriage registry office, a black BMW rolled up in front of her and two men in black suits stepped out of the car and bowed to her.
"Welcome back, Miss president."
"Take me to the company and inform the press of my return. It is time to storm the media with enough juice to talk about," she instructed her secretary Nelson who held out the car door for her.
It was time to reveal her identity and strike back at those who looked down on her. Especially her husband.
Her phone rang and it was her father. She quickly answered it and let him speak.
"My sweet pumpkin. I hope you are alright? Come home later for a good meal. You have done well," he said unexpectedly. Astrid assumed that her father would be made at her for divorcing Rowan.
After all, their union was based on business benefits. It was easier for them to get married since Astrid loved him already. But now the marriage was broken yet her father still welcomed her home.
"Don't worry too much about the Wade family. Your mother and I will take care of them. We hope to see you soon. Do come home, we will be waiting for you," her father repeated and Astrid blinked back at her tears.
Her parents were supportive of her decision and were willing to do anything for her happiness.
"I will, but there is something that I need to take care of first," she said before ending the call.
No one in her family knew about her secret. Astrid made sure that she appeared like an innocent weak woman who couldn't stand on her own.
Once she arrived at her company, she summoned all the board directors for a meeting and some press members. This was her first time appearing in person and everyone anticipated to see the mind behind the prosperous Queens craft company.
Now, it was the moment of truth. Her red bottom heels clicked powerfully on the marble tiles as she walked down the office corridor with a charismatic aura.
Employees who witnessed her parade were shocked by her beauty and powerful radiance.
Once she arrived at the last floor where the meeting was to be held, two bodyguards held the doors open and her secretary announced her arrival.
"The president has arrived."
Everyone in the room stood up to greet her. However, what they didn't expect was for a woman to walk through the door and stand before them.
Yet none of them questioned her as the aura she emitted was enough to tell them that she was the power source of the company.
They bowed their heads in respect while the reporters clicked their cameras capturing the moment.
"You all can have your seats. Let me introduce myself. I am Astrid Everhart, president of Queens craft. The mastermind behind the prosperous company ruling the business world," she announced with a sleek smile that blew them away.
Within seconds, the media was filled with a new headline.
MYSTERIOUS BUSINESS GURU OF THE QUEENS CRAFT COMPANY FINALLY REVEALS IDENTITY, PRESIDENT ASTRID EVERHART...
Astrid's secret identity as the mysterious business Guru made countless headlines. A lot of companies reached out to her for collaborations and interviews, but she kindly declined them as she had trusted partners who supported her company to move forward. She was fully aware of the pressure that would follow her reveal in society, but she didn't care anymore as she was no longer the timid and gullible Mrs. Wade, who had no voice of her own.In fact, she wanted to rub it on her ex-husband's face that he had lost a diamond while chasing after a rusty gold. She made a promise to herself that she would never allow anyone to push her around again. As for love, no man would ever be worthy of her affection again.Astrid's secretary, Nelson, walked into her large office holding a list of things she had asked him to research. “Ms. President, I have gotten all the names you requested for. Just as you said, they are all involved in sharp practices," he informed her, and she took note of them.“
Once it was evening, Astrid's secretary drove her back to her family's main house. She had gotten a call from her Mom earlier to come home for dinner. She needed a break as well from the emotional rollercoaster she had escaped from. After her divorce with Rowan, she felt free from the pressuring grip that held her down on the Wade family. Rowan was no good for her, he had neglected her feelings for years and brought his ex to their home regardless of her position as his wife. But she had seen to the end of such treatment by leaving her cold hearted husband. She freely slammed the door of her car and handed the keys to her parents' favorite butler, Mr. Williams. "Welcome home, young Miss. It is so good to see you," he said with a compassionate glint in his eyes. Aside from being her parents Butler and the main housekeeper, he was her second father who took care of her throughout her childhood. He had a daughter the same age as Astrid who was no other than her best friend, Rose."Than
Hello, everyone. This book will be getting massive updates from now on. I am done with my exams and can freely write now. Also, yesterday was my birthday and as a gift from me to you, I will drop five chapters today. Happy reading 😘."What?!" Astrid yelled as she stood up with a force that slammed her chair to the ground. Her parents were startled by her sudden outburst and wondered what made her react in such a way.Her eyes flared with anger as she stared at her phone. Ava quietly dropped her fork and focused on her daughter, curious and worried about her outburst at the same time."Is there something wrong?" She asked, her husband as well had a frown on his face as he patiently waited for his daughter to speak up.Astrid looked up from her phone and softened her furious expression. "It is a business venture that I have been aiming for. But I lost track and some other company is partnering with them,",she lied.If she actually told them what was on her screen, her parents would s
The next morning, Astrid rushed over to her company, skipping her breakfast for an appointment. Her parents were worried about her dedication to her work but she assured them of being attentive to her health. On getting to her company, her secretary, Nelson stood at the entrance ready to welcome her. He stepped forward and opened the car door for her."Good morning, Boss," he greeted.Astrid flashed him a bright smile and responded to his greeting. "Good morning, Nelson. How was your night?" She asked and he flushed red.Even though it was a regular greeting between him and his Boss, Nelson couldn't deny his admiration for her. To him, she was a super woman with great talents, smart and unwavering. Most of all, she was beautiful. It was shocking to hear that Mr. Wade had chosen someone else over her. Nelson now thinks of Mr. Wade as blind and foolish man for making such a choice. The thought of it made him feel so furious. "Nelson?" Astrid called. He snapped out of his thoughts and t
After the day's work, Astrid called it a day. She was satisfied with the outcome of her work schedule being completed, especially the part where she instructed Nelson to blacklist Mr. Harper's company. No one dares mess with her and goes free. The man and his company were thrown into a complete hysteria. Reporters flooded him for an explanation while stockholders who invested in his company rained insults and demanded for their money. The man was a total fraud. Fortunately, Astrid was able to unmask his facade on time. She took her coat and purse and walked out of her office, ready to hit the road back home. "Nelson, I will be leaving now. Take care, and please don't pull an all-nighter. Go home and have a good rest. Oh, tomorrow, don't bother coming to work. I will be spending time with Rose for the day. So take a day off," she informed him before going out of the office. She went down to the underground garage and retrieved her car. "Goodbye, Ms. President," the security officer g
Noah's little sneeze wakes Rowan up from his sleep. It is 7 A.M. in the morning and the little child seems to have caught a cold.Rowan places his hand on his forehead checking Noah's temperature. But he isn't running a temperature. He gets up from his bed, goes down to the kitchen and warms up a bowl of milk which he later transfers to a glass. On his way back to his room, he finds Victoria sitting at the front of his door with her knees bucked to her chin and her arms wrapping around them."What are you doing here?" He growls at her, angry at the sight of her."So now, I can't see my own child anymore? Do you think it is easy for me...." She tries to say but Rowan cuts her off instantly not giving her a chance to complete her words."Noah does not need you to be with me. I should be the one bonding with him and not you. The only reason why I brought you here is for him not to feel lonely and lose his motherly love," Rowan reminds her and she presses her lips into a thin line, frustr

Happy weekend, dear readers❤️"Please, let us off this once. I didn't mean to cause trouble. My girlfriend was only trying to act foolishly and I apologize for that," the young man begs exempting himself from the situation. His girlfriend stares at him in astonishment. She had no idea that he would dump her off just to save his ass.All of this was his doing just so he could show off to his friends. However, the young girl exaggerated her role and landed both of them in trouble."So now you know how to beg? What happened to that insolent tone of yours? Both of you are going in for the damages you caused to the employees," Astrid says firmly."We are sorry for the nuisance we caused. We did not intend to create such...""I don't need your excuses. You not only humiliated the employees but also assaulted them verbally and physically. If I hit you and call you the names you used on them, do you think your mental health will remain the same? These employees are trying their best to please

I won't cause you any trouble anymore." Little Noah crossed his heart.“It's alright, Noah. You being safe is all that matters." He ruffled his hair gently then turned his attention to Rowan who has been brooding since he came into the room.“May I ask what is bothering you?" Gilbert moved over to his side while Noah sat in front of them, playing with his toys that were littered everywhere.“She doesn't remember him," Rowan said , his voice low and edgy.“It's not her fault. We don't know what must have happened to her over the years. She is just living her life as she believes it to be. The fact that she changed her name fro
Attention! Attention!! Attention!!!! read the author's note for vital information!!!!The next day, before Gilbert woke up, Noah had snuck out of their unit. Rowan had not come back to the unit last night and he found it difficult to sleep without his Dad.He strode down the hallway, hiding at a corner each time he saw a soldier. While roaming the long quiet hallway, he explored some units, checking to find his Dad in any of them. After he checked the rooms for an hour, he tiredly sat on the cold floor, his hands on his belly as it grumbled loud in the corridor.Noah hadn't eaten breakfast yet and all the walking around had drained his energy. He squat on the ground, hoping that his uncle, Gilbert will come find him anything soon. However, three hours went by and no one had found him.Unable to bear the pain that churned his stomach from the wickedness of starvation, he began to cry to alert others of his presence.Luckily for him, two female soldiers used the same corridor he wa
Luna gave him all her attention as he began to explain what had happened to her in the past. He started off by giving her a cup of black tea to calm her nerves down before he commenced his narration.“Seven years ago, you joined the military and got recruited to my team. Then I was your team leader. You were so eager about the military which wasn't something everyone looked forward to. I noticed how excited you got over a little mission and how you were determined to win every single one of them. You were like an untouchable star, Luna. However, things started to fall apart when you revealed your hacking skills to the military tech team. You were able to hack a strong firewall that they had been struggling for months to break. But just a simple click by you made everything we had planned possible. Everyone started to admire you. But things became worse for you. Each time there was a hacking task, you were called up to handle it. Then, there came the Rwanda rescue, the very mission t
Luna reluctantly stepped into her room. She ignored her husband's brooding anger and went into her bathroom for a quick shower.Scott waited even though he was angry, he gave her the respect and privacy she deserved. After a few minutes, she was done bathing. She came out in a white robe, her hair dripping wet against the marble floor.“You were saying something?" Luna dryly muttered. She was totally disinterested in what he wanted to say to her. She coldly stared at him, waiting for him to repeat his growling question.“Has something caught your tongue? speak up dear husband. What is your anger about?" She taunted him.Scott felt something was off with his wife's mannerisms. Naturally, she would have apologized to him and explained her whereabouts. But she did the exact opposite of what he expected.“Well, since you won't talk first, I will. My medicine, you had them altered, Why?" she asked. She went over to her drawer and pulled out the bottle of medicine he had altered.“You said
The next morning, Luna woke up late. She rushed out of her bed and dressed up for her morning run.Pulling her hair up in a loose ponytail, she began to jog through the morning cold dew.She ran towards the mountain road, determined to finish her run before breakfast. As she jogged up to a distance, she felt someone's presence behind her. She turned hoping to see who it was but found no one.“Good Morning, love." A male voice muttered, falling by her side as she jogged.Luna missed a foot, startled by his sudden appearance and almost hit the ground if he didn't catch her on time.“Be careful, missy. You might not be lucky next time," he said, holding tight with his strong hands.“Rowan? What are you doing here?" She asked, surprised to see him.“Came out for a run. I saw from the other side and decided to join you. Hope you don't mind me intruding your space," he said with a smile.“No, I don't. Us meeting out here is a coincidence." She detached herself from his grip that burned her
The night went slower than expected, Luna had to endure the long boring event while standing by her husband's side. Each time she looked up to the left side of the ballroom, she got a glimpse of the man she had talked to earlier. He had a woman by his side and she wondered if she was the person he had talked about.Whenever he noticed her gaze on him, she would quickly look away to avoid being caught. At midnight, the ball came to an end. Luna and Scott went back to their mansion located at the end of the military base. Since he was a General, A private house was gifted to him by his father.Once they got back to their house, Luna exited the car first and headed straight into the house. Scott followed her behind but stopped when she reached her room door. "Let's call it a night," she muttered, flashing a slight smile that didn't reach her eyes."Good night, agent Luna." He said, presuming that she was exhausted and decided to let her rest for the rest of the night.Luna entered her

But her stalker was swift enough to calculate her move, trapping against the wall. She gasped at the force he used to pin her on the wall.“Don't move, I won't hurt you," her stalker breathed against her ear. She jolted from his deep voice that sent a shiver down her spine.Just the touch of his strong hands made her feel weak on her knees. The hot feeling from before raptured inside her like a wild fire set ablaze.“What do you want from me?" she asked, getting overwhelmed by their position. Her back was pressed against his belt. Sh
Hi, everyone, I know you all have been waiting for an update. I have not been feeling too well and have been preoccupied with too much school work. I need to visit my doctor for a checkup and get treated. please I hope you all can bear with me. Thank you 🙏."Agent Luna, thank goodness you are finally here. We are in a tight situation right now. Please, we need you to dissolve the matter outside before the General arrives," a comrade from Luna's squad said.Luna strode over to the commotion happening outside."What is going on here?!" she yelled at the top of her voice and everyone went silent."You there," she pointed at one of them. "What's the problem?" she questioned, narrowing her eyes in an intimidating way.The comrade lady shuddered under her menacing gaze. Without hesitation, she narrated the situation to her."Ma, This woman keeps insisting to see the General. According to her, she has an affair with the General, which we all know is impossible!" Luna looked at the woman af
The General led Rowan into his office, offered him tea which refused because he never consumed anything not made by his wife, Astrid or chef Gladine."Let's make things clear before anything else," the general said, pouring himself a glass of wine. He didn't bother to offer some to Rowan since he refused his tea. The General was petty when it came to little things like this. But only to others except his beloved wife, Astrid's cousin."I only granted your enrollment because my wife wanted it. She is the only reason why I am being of help to you. However, if you make things get out of hand, I will not hesitate to send you our of the base. Avoid the General Scott at all cost. I am not a fan of his. So, try not to get caught while getting back your wife," he said with a stern voice.Rowan looked at him unbothered about what he had just told him. He readjusted his sleeves and snatched the General's bottle of wine."You have nothing to worry about in my business. As for the scum who kidna
