Chapter 1
The story always begins with an event generally fatal or of total happiness. Why not? Luck will start fatefully and this has nothing. Emma was in the waiting room at the Edward General Hospital
Waiting for any information that would tell her out of despair she found herself.
Her mother is the only person she finds in the world, her companion, the only one who knows when she is happy or not. She taught her how to be strong if any situation weighs her down.
"Relative of Mrs. Williams", To hear that thick voice makes her tremble. She walks close to the tall chubby doctor, pretending that she is fine who demands her presents.
'I am her daughter, her only relative". The only relative she has," Emma says in a low voice".
"Come with me," the doctor said. Without saying anything she walked down to his office waiting patiently for him to tell her if her mother was still alive or not.
"Miss", are you sure there isn't someone else who accompanied you? The Doctor asked.
No doctor, Just tell me what is wrong with my mother. I will be able to tackle it.
"Okay miss". This is not what you will be afraid of. Your other is fine just that… the doctor pursued.
"Doctor", like I said. I know I am still a young girl but I can tackle this situation. Just tell me the problem.
"Believe me doctor there is no one else you can share the problem with except me. You can tell me everything you want to say. Don't be carried away by my appearance".
The doctor sighs and leans back on his chair, he nods." Your mother has a brain Tumor." Which will lead to surgery".
Hearing that makes her heartbeat. How much is it for the surgery? She asked the doctor.
"Twenty thousand dollars".
"what! Emma whispered in disbelief.
"Calm down, we will take care of your mother".
She snorts. How can I raise the money to pay for the surgery? She murmured. "Can I see her doctor"?
Sure, you are free to see her. The doctor answered. He guides her to the room where her mother is lying helplessly, she channels at her and sees her daughter walking closer to her.
" I will leave now, call me whenever you need my presence".
"Thank you, doctor", with a smile on her face, she said goodbye.
"Mom, why does everything happen to us? She has asked that question several times. But no one could answer her.
She has no idea how she can raise the money. Her head chuckled, lying on the sofa, and started plotting all the options she had.
"You can't stop talking to yourself like a crazy girl".Her mother said.
She walked closer to her, hearing her mother's weak voice. She kissed her. Her mum's question leaves her serious on the spot. Should she tell her the truth or… Mum nothing serious. Just that the doctor said you have to undergo surgery.
"Surgery"? How will you raise the money for my surgery? She put her hands on her head. Mrs. Williams worried so much.
"Mum", please you have to calm down. "You know you are very down at this moment". I will talk to my best friend Isabella or whoever I will talk to if only I can get what I need.
Now, Mum, I want you to relax and go back to sleep. She can't tell her the truth, which is too risky.
How much is the surgery, her mum asked in a low voice.
"Ten Thousand dollars. She whispered". She has to lie to her mother.
"Ten thousand dollars". She shouted." As tears run down her mother's cheek. She held her and wept her tears. She lay her down on the bed to catch some sleep. She looked at her and smiled at her.
The Doctor enters the room staring at Emma and her mother. You have a very responsible daughter. You don't have to worry much Mrs. Williams. Just relax and catch some sleep. Everything will be fine. As I said, don't hesitate to call me whenever you need my presence. She leaves the room.
"Mom", you have to be good. No one will harm you here. Soon you will be out of here. After she calms her mother down and forces her to sleep.
Emma started to do her homework. She was so tired that she fell asleep. "She murmurs and murmurs".
"Mom". She called out. I have to go now because I am late for school.
Her mother kissed her forehead, "Take care of yourself, my girl, and remember to take your breakfast. Emma did not pay attention to what her mother was saying because she was already late for school. As she walked through the subway.
When she arrived in the classroom. The class has already started.
"Miss Emma".You are late, Mrs. Margaret reminds her." If you weren't as good as you are. I would have asked you to leave my class".
"I am sorry Mrs. Margaret "Emma pleaded. It won't repeat itself." Of course, it won't, Mrs. Margaret affirms. As she walked down to her seat.
"Emma" you look unkempt, her friend Isabella whispered in her ears. " How is your mother? Isabella, for now, let's concentrate on the class until break time. Isabella nods and they focus their attention on the class.
After they are done with the class. Which becomes so boring to her thinking about her mother's illness always makes her crazy. They left the classroom and headed to the campus Pious. "Hi dear, James' voice reaches her ears, as she turns and sees James. James is the most handsome and romantic, kind and lovely boy she has. He winks at herFor God's sake, are you people trying to make me feel jealous? Isabella questions them. Emma pushed her for bad language. "You are bitter". James replies. I would like to excuse you guys. I have a class to attend to. Again he places a kiss on her forehead before leaving. "All good darling". He nods and says goodbye as James walks away from them with his friend. "Now will you tell me how your mother is fairing"? Isabella questioned her. Emma sighed heavily and t

Mr. Leo, only my virginity will belong to you. I will never be yours once we are done with the contract. I take my leave. His smile grew wider and more sexy. "I remind you, Miss Emma, you will be mine forever. I need to enjoy it more and more", Don't you think so? A small Mocking laugh comes out of her throat. He shakes his head. I don't have enough, not enough. She nods without leaving her mocking laugh. "I don't think you have the capacity and stigma to give me pleasure for 24 hours, Clearly she doesn't think he is capable of giving her pleasure for much more". His seriousness and gestures made her know that she hurt him with her words. Can you sign the contract at once? She smiled at him"Alright" she took the pen from his hand and signed the contract. "Mr. Leo," the lawyer asked, "I think she is so rude. "You can tell me anything, but never you say I am a slave. Believe me, if you say it again, I will make sure I remove some of your teeth. I think my seriousness makes him gas
"Are you Okay", Isabella asked. You look Cold. Hope everything is fine. "Yes, I am". Just thinking about what I am about to go into. "Isabella smiled," I thought we had discussed this. So why bring it up again? You know you did this because of your mum. "My dear just relax okay", Hmmm, Thinking how James would react if he heard about this. No one is going to tell him. Is a secret between both of us. "Read my lips". She closed her eyes tightly, What the hell is she getting into? Just because of her mother's illness and the stolen contract papers. God! She feels really bad about James. just turn herself into a cheap asshole. She gasped. "Hey, James can't give you what Mr. Leo is going to offer you. So stop thinking stupid things and focus on Mr. Leo. You are doing it wrong and you never fail on time to draw"She huffs and Listen to her, I think she is right. But I don't understand how I think about Mr. Leo, he can't get out of my fucking head. The hours go by and she tries to co
Punctuality is what Emma likes most, she doesn't like changing plans at the last minute and when someone wants to play with her intelligence. " I can do everything" if you tell me that we will meet at a specific time and you can arrange the place so that I can come there to meet you. You don't have to come to the campus to pick me out from the class, just because you want me. Her voice is always as sweet as she is no matter how serious she is, and her tone of voice never changes. His serious gesture and his veins swelling indicate that he is holding his back, his gaze wanders over her body, and only that gesture awakes her, making her remember every one of his communications. "I think you don't know who you are referring to" It seems you are going knots. He looks into her eyes. "You have an aptitude for turning things around and that strikes me as impressive, but no one in their sense does what you did". His tongue runs slowly on his lips. "Just as you have things to do", "I am a
Waking up after a night of partying is the worst thing that can ever happen to someone. The stinky smell of alcohol is perceived in the environment and the headache that comes up. Not to worry about her putting up her best face and looking at herself in the mirror and smiling. I am terrible.Ready and about to have her breakfast. She waited for her friend Isabella. This is the day Mr. Leo will deflower her for millions of dollars. Yes. For millions of dollars. She said to herself. "Tomorrow", shouted her friend Isabella as she entered the room", Their friendship has been going on for more than thirteen years, they have been friends since Emma arrived in Chicago when she was just seven years old. "Emma". Isabella called out. Are you ready for your billionaire man? She asked. Raising her eyebrows, her expression makes her laugh."I am trying not to think about that. Are we going out again today?Isabella laughed at her bad imitation, of course, we are going out today even if I have to
She looks into his eyes, and she bites her lips, "James we are in a public place", "You don't have to do this". "Emma", No one can see us. Why don't you want to be with me yet?". It's been two years since we started dating and you don't want to give yourself to me. "She frowns", I think he is right, but he must not talk to me like that. "Change your tone and lower your voice", She looked at him seriously though her heart was racing in seconds and guilt was eating away at her in an incredible way, A burning in her stomach was created by the burden of consciousness, she was now playing a dirty game on her boyfriend. "Since we got together, we have been on something right?" He nods his head in a bad mood. "Then, why do you despair?"He runs his hand on his head. Emma, " I am a man and blood runs through my veins. I feel and I need those that you don't attend to and you refuse to do so, it is beautiful… the one that has a store that doesn't attend it or sells from it will lose it".
"Hey, calm down," Isabella stood up and hugged her. "At times of pressure, your body will say what you should do, you just pay attention to it and of course leave the shame aside, that's the only way to help out", she signs deeply, "That's my darling", They kiss each other on the cheeks. She winks at her. "You go calmly", I would like to stay a little longer, I will always have my cell phone close to me. In case you want to hear from me. Don't hesitate to call me. Isabella told her. Emma smiled at her, They kissed each other on the cheek again and she left with the man. She thinks she can hide her state. Once they got to the car, she was speechless, it was the big day. Today, Mr. Leo is going to do his worst. She thinks that makes her a bunch. Her breath quickens just imagining his kisses, his caresses, and his hot and strong body against her. The road was a bit long, and she watched everything with curiosity, it was covered with trees. She felt that the car had stopped and her n
The morning came quietly, with the first light spilling through the windows like a gentle invitation. Thomas woke up,for a moment, he stayed in bed, watching Emma as she slept. Her face was peaceful, framed by the soft tangle of her hair. He didn’t want to disturb her. Rising carefully, he dressed and stepped out into the hallway. The house was still and calm. He passed Lily’s room, peeking in to find her sprawled across her bed.Her small snores made him smile. In the living room Thomas sat on the couch savoring the quiet place. These moments had become precious to him, a time to breathe before the day unfolded. Something caught his eye: a picture of three figures standing under a tree, holding hands. A sun and a smiling cloud hovered above them. At the bottom, in wobbly letters, she had written, “My family”. Thomas picked up the drawing, his chest tightening with emotion. This simple piece of art felt like a reflection of everything they’d built together. “Daddy?” Lily’s voi
Thomas stood by the window in the living room, watching the sun climb higher into the sky. The light danced on the glass, and for a moment, he felt a calmness settle deep inside him. Emma appeared, carrying pancake. She handed one to him and leaned against the window frame, gazing outside. “It’s a beautiful day,” she said, her voice gentle. Thomas nodded, taking a sip. “It is. Feels like a good day for something simple.” Emma glanced at him, her lips curving into a soft smile. “Something simple? What did you have in mind?” “Nothing planned,” he admitted. “Maybe just letting the day unfold, spending it with you and Lily.” Emma tilted her head thoughtfully. “I like that idea.” From the hallway, Lily’s voice called out, breaking the quiet. “Mommy, Daddy! Can we have pancakes for breakfast?” Emma chuckled, pushing off the window frame. “Guess that’s how we’ll start.” Thomas followed her to the kitchen, where Lily was already dragging a chair to the counter. Her hair was
The air in the house was soft and warm, filled with the quiet hum of everyday life. Thomas sat in his study, the faint scratching of his pen on paper the only sound breaking the stillness. He wasn’t working on contracts or plans tonight. Instead, he was writing a letter a habit he’d taken up recently. There was something grounding about the simplicity of writing by hand, capturing thoughts with ink. He leaned back, reading over the lines. The words felt honest, reflecting the steady gratitude he’d grown to carry each day. Folding the letter, he tucked it into his notebook and set it aside. The clock on the wall showed it was nearing Lily’s bedtime. Thomas rose, stretching as he made his way to the living room. Emma was curled up on the couch, a book in her hands. Her hair was pulled back loosely, and she looked up with a smile when he walked in. “Finished your writing?” she asked, closing her book. Thomas nodded, settling beside her. “For now. How’s your story coming along?”
The days that followed were calm, a welcome change from the whirlwind Thomas and his family had endured. The quiet felt foreign at first, as if the tension of recent weeks still lingered in the air. Yet, with each passing day, Thomas allowed himself to lean into the stillness. Morning sunlight spilled through the office windows as Thomas sat at his desk, a steaming cup of hot coffee in hand. His schedule was mercifully light, leaving him with time to catch up on work that had been neglected. Greg knocked softly before stepping inside. “Morning, Thomas. Thought I’d check in.” Thomas gestured for him to sit. “Morning. Everything good on your end?” Greg nodded, handing over a file. “Security reports, just routine checks. No issues to note.” Thomas flipped through the pages, scanning the concise updates. He closed the file and set it aside. “Thanks, Greg. Let’s keep the protocols steady for now, but I think we can start scaling back gradually.” “Will do,” Greg said, standing
The days rolled on, quieter now, yet Thomas couldn't shake the feeling that peace was fragile. Isabella’s note replayed in his mind, each word sharp and deliberate. Her sudden retreat didn’t sit well, but he wanted to believe it was genuine. That morning, the office buzzed with routine energy, a stark contrast to the tension that had dominated in recent weeks. Thomas stood by the window, the city stretched out before him. His reflection in the glass mirrored his unease. “Thomas,” Greg’s voice broke through his thoughts. “You’ve got a moment?” Turning, Thomas waved him in. Greg carried a file, his expression unreadable. “Still nothing from Isabella,” Greg began, setting the file on the desk. “But there’s a small issue we need to discuss. It’s probably unrelated, but I’d rather not dismiss it outright.” Thomas frowned, flipping open the file. Inside were photographs of security footage of a woman entering a building downtown. Her face was obscured by shadows, but the resemblan
The next few days passed without any sign of Isabella, and for the first time in a while, Thomas allowed himself a moment to breathe. He had taken every precaution, ensuring that his family and company were protected. Security was on high alert, and the team had strict instructions to report any unusual activity. Thomas sat in his office, reviewing reports, when Greg walked in with an update. “Morning, Thomas,” Greg said, holding a small envelope. “This just came in for you.” Thomas frowned, taking the envelope. It was plain, with no return address. He opened it carefully, pulling out a handwritten note. The message was brief: I’ve decided to leave. You’ve made yourself clear. Best of luck to you and your family. It was signed simply, Isabella.Thomas stared at the note, his jaw tightening. He handed it to Greg, who read it quickly. “Do you think she means it?” Greg asked. Thomas leaned back in his chair, tapping his fingers on the desk. “It’s hard to say. Isabella’s un
Thomas sat in his car outside the office for a moment before heading inside. His encounter with Isabella had left him rattled, and the tension in his chest hadn't eased. He clenched the steering wheel tightly, replaying their conversation in his mind. There was something off about her, something unsettling. After taking a deep breath, he stepped out of the car and made his way to the office. The late afternoon sun cast long shadows across the building as he entered. The usual hum of activity greeted him, but it felt distant, muffled by the weight of his thoughts. Greg was waiting for him near his office. “She left, but I doubt it’s the last we’ll see of her,” Greg said grimly. Thomas nodded. “We need to keep an eye on this. Let security know she’s not allowed in without my approval.” “Understood,” Greg replied. “Do you think she’s after something specific?” Thomas frowned. “It’s too soon to tell, but I don’t trust her motives. Make sure the team knows to stay alert.” Gre
Thomas woke up early the next morning, the pale light of dawn spilling through the curtains. He lay still for a moment, staring at the ceiling, his mind heavy with thoughts about Isabella. The day before had stirred memories he’d long pushed away, but now they refused to leave him. Emma shifted beside him, still asleep, her breathing soft and even. He glanced over at her peaceful face and sighed quietly. He hated the idea of dragging her into something she hadn’t asked for, but there was no way around it.Slipping out of bed carefully, he made his way to the kitchen. The house was quiet as he put on the kettle, the faint hum of the appliance filling the space. He poured himself a cup of coffee and sat at the table, hands wrapped around the warm mug. His thoughts wandered back to Isabella. Why had she resurfaced? What did she want from his family or his company? It didn’t sit right. He had seen her kind before people who created trouble and disappeared, only to return when it suited th
Thomas sat at his desk, the soft hum of his office as background noise. The morning had been busy with meetings, and now the afternoon sun was filtering through the blinds, casting long shadows across the room. His fingers drummed lightly on the edge of his desk as he glanced over the contract in front of him. He had been reviewing the details all morning, ensuring everything was in order before signing. His phone rang, breaking his concentration. He reached for it and answered with his usual professional tone. “Hello, Thomas speaking.”“Hi, Thomas. It’s Greg. I’ve got an update on the contract deal,” Greg’s voice came through, sounding slightly rushed. Thomas sat up straighter. “Go ahead. What’s the news?”“Well, it looks like everything is good on our end,” Greg continued. “We’ve gone over the terms again, and it seems like they’re willing to move forward with the deal. Just waiting on the final signatures.”“Good to hear,” Thomas said, his mind already moving to the next steps.
