Chapter 4

Xavier's POV

As I smelled my mate, I got confused as to why she did not smell like a wolf. That is when it hit me that my mate was not a wolf. My wolf and I did not care as long as she was in our arms. I quickly started sprinting towards where the smell was coming from. I can sense that the smell was starting to get distanced as if she was running away from me. It made a growl erupt from my chest. The smell was getting deeper into the forest hence I started to sprint faster. The smell was near and I came to realise she had stopped. As the smell hit hard and realised she was very near. Soon my paws stopped. In front of me was a strawberry blonde girl who was about 5.2 feet. Her wavy hair came down to below her waist. I can see that she felt my presence yet stayed rooted to the ground. Mine. I thought to myself.

In order to make her face me low growl. She tensed yet did not turn around. I really wanted to see my mate's face hence I let another low growl. I saw her legs moving and her body was turning around. I was standing there staring at my mate with an awe struck look. She looked magnificent. So beautiful. She was just gorgeous. I saw her eyes went wide after seeing me. involuntarily my paws start to move on their own. When I took two steps, I heard a sob from somewhere. That is when I realised the tears streaming down. I got into shock and retreated.

What happened next was unexpected. Out of nowhere a grey wolf pounced. I was caught off guard. As I saw my mate fall back, I glared at the grey that came out of nowhere. Both me and the wolf were circling each other. I waited till the grey wolf made the first move which it did. I dodged it with ease and hovered over the grey which was definitely smaller than me.

As I thought of the danger that this wolf put my mate into made me growl out loud as the birds started flying away from the forest. The next moment I did the unthinkable. I ripped the wolf's head out of its body. I stared at the lifeless body in front of me with uneven breathing. That is when my senses came back and realised what I had done in front of my mate. Slowly I turned around and looked directly at my mate's eyes. she was looking directly into my eyes. What I saw made me feel guilty as I looked at her tears stained eyes which showed fear and distaste. she was petrified. What made it worse was that I was the reason behind that.. My wolf was not settling well with the fact we scared our mate. Soon she broke eye contact as she let out a deep breath that she was holding onto.

my wolf wanted to comfort our mate, hence it did the unthinkable by shifting in front of our human mate. As she heard the sound of the bone cracking sound, she snapped to my direction. She watched with wide eye as I shifted into my human form. Soon I was in my human form, naked. she had yet to realise that there was a naked man in front of her as she was still yet to come back from her shock.

When she finally realised, she let out a piercing scream as she took off running. it hurt me knowing she was running away. But soon I recovered and started to run after her. As I caught up to her, I quickly pulled her into my chest. That was when the most amazing feeling went through me. Sparks exploded when I made skin contact with her. I almost let a moan escape my lips due the amazing feeling. she started to scream out loud that I had to cover her lips with my hands. I was in heaven with every skin contact I made. I lifted her off the ground so that she would not slip and fall as the ground was slippery. she started to kick and fight in order for me to let her go. "shhh. It's ok, my love." I whispered in her ear, an attempt to calm her down. I found myself burying my face at the crook of her neck and sniffed her amazing scent. I found my wolf calm down and purring. She soon let out loud cries and soon fell limp. I caught her tight to my chest and whispered "I finally found you my little mate."
