Chapter 32:
Trisha’s P.O.V
The stars shore brightly in the night sky. It’s been ages since I came to the gazebo in the Inner Castle garden. But this place hasn’t lost its charm; it was still breathtakingly beautiful, just as it had been nearly a hundred and seventy two years ago. And just like that day when we had first met, Damien was sitting alone on the gazebo stairs.
I took a step forward and unlocked the iron gate that separated the inner circle from the rest of the garden. Damien didn’t look up as I walked up to him; he already knew I was here. It’s what makes him King, his alertness to even the tiniest ripples in his lands.
“It’s cold out here.” He said without even turning towards me. “Are you sure you should be wearing that?”
I looked down at the thin bottle green T-shirt and black jeans that I’d been wearing and found nothing wrong with the
Chapter 33: Lucas’s P.O.V:“I warned you, didn’t I?” Dylan asked as he stood by the open window, twirling a piece of his golden lock between his thumb and forefinger.“Rubbing salt on the wound, Dylan? Didn’t think you were the kind.” I answered, sitting beside the bed as Neema slept peacefully. The boy hasn’t woken up yet but we’ve already gotten news that Trisha has been ‘taken captive’ by the Vampire King. Now all I needed was a call from her, letting me know that she was safe.“I didn’t want to be this blunt to you before, but seriously, Lucas? How could you not see the way she reacted every time Damien’s name came up?” Dylan shook his head at me in disappointment. “The connection that she has with Damien goes far beyond physical and I don’t have a single doubt in my mind that they’re soulmates.”&
Chapter 34:Trisha’s P.O.V:“Trisha?“Trisha!”I heard someone calling my name, but the voice felt too far away. My ears felt like they were about to explode. What was that continuous shrill noise? Why couldn’t I move? There was so much pain. My back felt like someone was pouring acid over it again and again…Why couldn’t I scream?“Trisha! What have you done to her?”There it was again…that voice? Who was it? Why did they sound so desperate?“It’s not my fault she can’t handle a little heat.”I couldn’t see…I couldn’t move…all I could do was feel…And it hurt. It hurt so badly.“TRISHA!”Suddenly, the ringing in my ears stop and I could feel a slight twitch in my fingers. Someone seems to be shaking me. But who?“Please!&rdqu
Chapter 35: Trisha’s P.O.V: For an instant, the world stood still. I could feel the heat of the fire scorch my skin. I could hear Lucas’s voice as he yelled my name. Through my closed eyes, I could see the light that the flames cast in every direction. What I couldn’t feel however, was the excruciating pain that came with being burned alive by Damien’s fire. Startled into opening my eyes, I looked right at Damien as he stood facing me. His eyes held relief…and pain. He was covered in blood from head to toe, but his hands were regenerating slower than I’d thought it would. I could still see the white of his bones as muscles and tendons made their slow journey around the bones, trying to knead it back in the way it used to be. I had to break the eye contact however, to look at the little boy in my arms. Neema was clutching to me for dear life, his eyes squeezed shut and his lips trembling. I knew that he was the
Synopsis: Fate and destiny might be two sides of the same coin, but for me, they’d always be polar opposites. Fate brought me to Lucas. Fate gave my life a new direction. But my destiny will always be tied to the one man I can never forget and the one man I cannot have, Damien Vandolff. Once again, life has brought me to a crossroads which can make or break the fragility of this new world. The dynamics are changing as new enemies’ surface and old friendships are put to test. A war awaits and there is no way to avoid it. It’s time to come out of the shadows and decide yet again, if I want to become Fate’s consort…or Destiny’s bride. Prologue: 200 years ago… Vandal Rudolf didn’t like being indebted to anyone, but desperate times had led to desperate measures. It had taken him nearly seven hundred years to find out the truth and when he had…he hadn’t
Chapter 1:Lucas’s P.O.V:I traced one finger down the arch of her slender neck, her blonde hair spilled around her like a halo. She arched up at my touch, her greedy eyes following my lips, down my throat. She went to raise her head, try and steal a kiss from me, but I stopped her with my hand around her throat. She needed to know that I was the one who called the shots here.“Not so fast, kitty.” I whispered in her ears as I bent down to bite her neck and then licked at the sensual hurt, making her whimper. The scent of her arousal was thick in the air and it was making my wolf rise to the front of my consciousness. I knew my eyes had turned topaz when I heard her gasp, both in wonder and a tiny bit of fear.Good.I used one hand to lift her back off the bed the slightest bit as my other hand travelled down her body, finding the strap of her bra and unhooking the material. I ripped
Chapter 2:Lucas’s P.O.V:As soon as the sunrays hit the sky, Damien had teleported us back to his castle where a bunch of vampires were already sweeping blood off the floor.I blinked back the dark spots in my vision a few times to clear my sight and fought back the bile rising up my throat. Why the fuck did teleportation feel like shit? But I shook it off as best as I could. I couldn’t be found disoriented inside enemy lands. We seemed to be on the outskirts of some kind of a garden that, to be honest, looked really beautiful. The lawns were all manicured and trimmed, not like the wild of the forest where nature could grow at its own pace and it did agitate my wolf a bit, but it’s not like I’m going to be living here forever. Trim and proper were for vampires; wolves preferred untamed nature. The vampires that had gathered around the spot of blood on the ground all froze and turned to look
Lucas’s P.O.VThe doors to the court room sprung open as soon as Damien and I came to stand in front of it. In true Royal fashion, the guards held up their swords and let us through the door. If I wasn’t seeing this right now, I would never have believed it if someone told me Damien Vandolff was an old fashioned man despite having all the latest technology at his fingertips. The court room looked more like a throne room with a huge ass gold throne at the farthest corner and several other, smaller gold chairs arranged on either side of the throne in straight lines. There was a humongous chandelier hanging from the dome shaped ceiling that seemed to be the only source of electricity in the room. There were however, several candle stands spread all over the room with lit candles, providing the room with a medieval era vibe. All the people who had been sitting on the gold chairs stood at once upon seeing Damien approach. Damien made his
Rosanna’s P.O.V:“Come on! Come on, ladies!” I yelled down at my crew as they loaded in several heavy barrels. “Faster people! There’s a storm coming and I don’t want my ass getting wet in this bloody storm. Get all the supplies you need and hop the fuck on!”If the sky had been this freaking red at night, it wouldn’t have been a problem, but at nine in the morning? Nope. That was clear sign of trouble. We needed to pack up here so we could get back to base and settle in before the storm hits. Any other day, I would’ve preferred to fight the tides head on, but soggy bread isn’t as fun to have at the dinner table.“Oh, come on!” Carig, one of my senior crew members complained. “We get to load heavy ass barrels of supplies while the newbie gets to sit back and relax? Why can’t she be down here loading barrels with us?”I raised an eyebrow. “She&r
Trisha’s P.O.VEverything is a lie.My life, my love…everything.I couldn’t tell the difference between reality and dreams and the more I thought, the more my head pounded, making me feel sick to my stomach. This wasn’t the first time that my life had turned upside down within a moment’s notice. But this was the first time in my life I wanted to question whatever divine power ruled the universe…why did they keep me alive? My entire town in the countryside had been slaughtered. No one had been left alive as the werewolves shred through the populace, splattering blood and guts on the walls and ending precious lives one by one like it didn’t mean anything. My precious little boy, my David, as well as my husband and my mother…they had all died a painful death as the wolves entered out house, breaking through concrete and used their sharp claws and fangs to rip everyone to shreds. I cle
Trisha’s P.O.V“Damnit!” I threw aside another book that had a promising title but did not have what I needed!I needed scandals and dirt on the Elders, not flowery words and love poems on their beauty! So yes, I was pissed off enough to throw around books that had hundreds of years of history, but I wasn’t a monster, so I instantly regretted my decision and ran after said book, picking it up from the floor and properly keeping them back in place after making sure I hadn't made any damages. So far the only thing I had gathered was that the Council consisted of four members, three men and one woman. They were considered over ten thousand years in age and they were certainly not the first vampires, but…the last of the first? And there was more misinformation about the Elders than information, because the records kept varying from one data to another. So not only was I angry, I was frustrated and exhausted and
Trisha’s P.O.V“Hey, champ!” I called out to Neema, watching him sitting on his bed, bent over his notebook in concentration. “What are you up to?”“Hi, mommy!” Neema gave me a sleepy smile, but rubbed his eyes to drive the sleep away. “I was doing my homework.”“Homework? What subject?” I went to sit on his bed as he made room for me.“Math.” He showed me what he was working on. “The teacher said I need to finish by tomorrow, but I’m sleepy.”“Really?” I raised my eyebrows at his sheepish smile. “Who was it that stayed past their bedtime again?”“Sorry.” He wrapped an arm around my waist and placed his head on my chest, holding on to me tightly. “But it was your and Damien’s wedding! I couldn’t miss it!”Smiling, I wrapped my arms around my precious boy. “Ne
Trisha’s P.O.V“Someone’s had a lot of fun last night?” I smirked at Rosanna as she entered the cafeteria late in the afternoon, having skipped breakfast. “It’s almost lunch time.”“Fuck you!” She groaned, fixing her messy hair into a bun, revealing the love bites on her neck.“I think you already did that…with Lucas.” I laughed at her sour look.“Bitch! If you didn’t have vampire healing, I’d like to see how you would fair, Mrs. Vampire Queen.” Rose glared at me. “Where’s the hubby? Aren’t newlyweds like, attached to the hip or something?”“He went back to his castle to gather Intel.” I shrugged, taking a sip of my coffee. I had been working all morning and I needed caffeine to keep me going. “This newlywed couple has a sword hanging on top of their heads.”“Yeah…I kno
Trisha’s P.O.VThat night, Damien and I held our reception in the ship’s deck with everyone on deck having the time of their lives as we celebrated our union. Lucas and Rose seemed to be enjoying themselves a bit too much and it did raise some eyebrows, but in a good way.If Rose and Lucas decide to be together, I would be really happy for them. They had both been through a lot in their lives and they deserved their happiness.Neema seemed ecstatic as he danced away with the crew, so much so that I almost missed his bedtime. But I guess, skipping bedtime for one day wouldn’t hurt, right? This was further from the calm before the storm. This was us coming together to celebrate one small victory. And even though I was a bit worried about the amount of pastries he had consumed today and skipped his bedtime, I was willing to let it slide just this once.It was a beautiful star filled night and the ocean was quiet for the mos
Trisha’s P.O.VI walked out of the room with my father, Lucas and Rose following behind us, but they separated from us as we neared the altar. The music was light and the entire hall was filled with the scent of fragrant flowers. White roses were used as decoration, but within the purity of the white, I spotted the dark velvet petals of the black roses. However, behind the altar, there was a humongous garland made completely of black roses and it was just magnificent.Candles illuminated the room along with the electric chandeliers; it was a mix of the old and the new. I think it was a harmonious match, just like Damien and me. He was over nine centuries old while I was only two. Vampires didn’t count years as humans did and I had long since understood that passage of time for us was far different, but somewhere deep in my heart, the heart that had once been human, told me in a wondrous whisper that Damien might just have waited for
Trisha’s P.O.VI stared at the mirror across the room, unable to recognize the woman staring back at me.Damien had kept his promise. He was giving me everything I had always wanted. A grand wedding at the castle with only the staff and close friends in attendance. And a wedding dress that would be the source of envy for many a woman. The dress was pure white with a boat neck and fit bodice, but the bottom half was a flared skirt with the most gorgeous pearl embroidery I had ever seen. The sleeves were full and it was embroidered the same, with real pearls and even though there was so much decoration, the fabric was soft and breathable. The person who had done my makeup had told me that this was all Damien’s special request and that he had ordered it half a year ago. I had no idea what to feel after knowing that Damien had been planning for this way ahead of time.My stylist had even changed my hair by removing the black dye a
Trisha’s P.O.V“Damien wh-?”The world was engulfed in darkness for a few seconds and then, we were no longer inside the jungle and the ruins of the Avestenin castle. The room Damien had taken me into was dark as well and before my night vision could kick in, I saw tiny flames flicker to life.Candles. There were hundreds of them all around the room and once all of them were lit up, I found myself in a fairytale. A huge chandelier hung from the ceiling and the crystals scattered the light of the candles in all directions making it look like fractured starlight on the walls. There was a huge bed in the middle of the room and the windows were draped with blood red silk curtains. There wasn’t much furniture in the room except for the bed, a large closet and a vanity, but it was spacious and beautiful. Since the curtains were drawn, I couldn’t see outside and also because wherever we were, it was night time; but I heard
Trisha’s P.O.VRose and I joined Damien and Lucas on the table and Rose motioned for Rissa, the woman in charge of the Kitchen, to bring out our food.I was given a bag of blood along with a small bowl of beef stew and rice, while Damien was just given a bag of blood and a suspicious look. I gave Rissa a disappointed glance, but Damien shook his head, accepting the blood without complaints.“So? Any progress with the expedition?” Rose asked outright, getting straight to the point. “You didn’t immediately teleport back, so I’m assuming you had some form of success.”Damien nodded, taking a sip of his blood. “I found the castle. There was a fountain in the courtyard with the statue of a baby angel. It was made completely of jade, that’s why I remembered it. Turns out, that statue is still in pristine condition.”“And the castle?” I asked, a sliver of hope bloomin
