Chapter 27 The Emotional Love of Luka

Richard was standing near the window of his room. The curtain hid his standing position from any distant spot that was possibly visible from the Duvilles’ land. His eyes captured Sonya’s spot where she was standing by the brook.

He sighed. His taking breath sounded heavy and he put his eyes on the sculpture under his room’s window. He was rubbing his lips as his eyes were observing the sculpture, every inched detail of her female body silhouette and a gesture that was crafted in a fine palate on the sculpture. Richard believed, under the moonlight showers some strangers could perceive it as a real woman who was standing and playing in the fish pond, but they could impossibly hear her feet sprinkling the water and her giggling voices. One hand of the sculpture was holding her arm while the other arm was sagging downward and holding the stem of a rose in her fingers lightly. She was standing with the crafted details as if the lower part of her dress was swaying under the autumn breezes.
