Nathan took us to get some rest in the pack house. He promised another chance to question Elaine when she became calmer. I doubt it will ever come. That look in her eyes screamed of hatred, desperation, and something I couldn’t put my finger on.
I can’t wrap my head around why my magic spiraled back. It was disturbing. I paced in the living room of Nathaniel’s suite, trying to find an answer, but found none.
Sebastian insisted that he and I stay in one of the guest rooms, but Nathan refused. He was so stubborn and persistent in blabbering about the mate bond. Where is that arrogant alpha who used to mock me when I was cuffed and shackled in his dungeon?
