[Agatha POV]My emotions are all over the place. I am worried for Nico and the guys. Those cloaked men took them before me, but I don’t know where they took them. I feel like I need to run away and flee from this place, wherever this is. The feeling of dread and apocalypse is looming over my entire body. I am stuck in the void, detached from the world. Not that I have many friends or family to miss me, but not like this. They took away the tiniest freedom I had. Now I’m like a caged pig getting readied for slaughter by eating and sleeping. Although the slaughter is inevitable, at least the pig is never alone during its final days. Why do I have to be the prophesied witch? I understand we cannot choose the family, relatives, and ancestors we are born into, but why do I have a feeling that we don’t have a choice over our lives at all? There was a prophecy about me hundreds of years before I was born, and now I am mated to two werewolves. No free will for me?I don’t believe in fate or
The day Nico and his men escaped their holding cell to search for Agatha, they reached the bottom level of the building. It was the only door they could unlock. As they traced the source of the faint chatter, Nico gestured to the boys to slip inside the door one by one to avoid catching attention. He kept the door slightly open to peek into the hallway to see if they were in the right place. On either side of the corridor, there are three mahogany doors. The walls are uniformly painted pale black, and the door frames are gray, just a few shades lighter. Each door has a distinct design. The first door to the left has a simple five-point star shape sculpted in the middle of the wooden door. It has five vertices of the inner pentagon. The second bears the symbol of an eye on a brass slate at the center of a rather plain finished wood. The third can be mistaken to be identical to the first door at first glance. It has two overlapping triangles; one is upright, and the other is inverted,
[Sebastian POV]“Put her down!” I growl at this strange-looking man who came inside my room while I was sleeping and now holds Agatha floating in the air. I don't know what kind of power he was using, but it doesn’t look good to me. I nearly trampled my foot in anger and desperation. Lost in my thoughts, Agatha’s scent invaded my nostrils, confirming she was my mate. Six started chanting wildly in my head. He wants to surface and protect our mate. Why didn’t I get her scent before? Does it mean Nathan is also her mate? Or did my rejection of Nathan work the first time and Agatha is my second chance mate? These questions popped into my head and it’s making me crazy. My mind went back to Nathan. Did he orchestrate this? Did he intend to kill Agatha because she is my mate? What is his connection with this man? My mind is racing, searching for answers, a luxury no one can provide at the moment. Something needs to be done right now. I shoved these thoughts aside and focused on the presen
I had no choice but to talk to Nathan. I recounted what happened the previous night and what I suspect the man to be. He didn’t believe me. He said it was impossible to have some warlock or demon beneath the company building. He asked his officials to investigate to check the surveillance videos in the lobby of the main entrance of the building as no cameras were installed in the lower levels.Although the building was built by his father’s grandfather during his time as the head Alpha of the River Bed Pack, the underground holding cells were rarely used. They have a separate dungeon for rogues and prisoners from enemy packs in a good thirty minutes–run deep into the forest. It is the precaution taken by the former Alpha to keep the prisoners as far from the packhouse as possible. For whatever re
[Agatha POV]I watched as Sebastian and Nathaniel stepped into my room. I followed them and called on Sebastian, but he did not hear me. They went to every room as if they were looking for something or someone. Their mouths moved, and I could see that they were talking to each other, with the occasional glance they threw at each other….. But why didn’t I hear anything? Why can’t they see me?Baltazar said this is the headquarters of Phoenicia Covenant, so what are my two Alphas doing here? Are they a part of the covenant too? NO! They can’t be. Sebastian is an Alpha, and they are both Alpha. I did not sense any magical powers from Sebastian. It can’t be it. I followed them through floor by floor, door by door. I can see a mixture of excitement, anticipation, and fear in
I was taken aback by this woman's sudden outburst. Why do I have a feeling that she knows me? This is the first time I have seen her. Her knowing Baltazar brings a chilly sensation down my spine. It means I didn’t escape after all. I teleported just right, but this is just a mess. I feel like slapping myself for my bad luck. Argh!I have no response for her. I can’t tell her I was trying to flee from Baltazar, but thinking about her reaction, she must know that by now.“Do I know you? How do you know Baltazar?” I tensed up, but it looked like she would not give me any answer soon.Just as I took a step forward, she stood from her chair, bending slightly forward; her palms were pressed on the table while gl
[Sebastian’s POV]The moment I saw Agatha in Nate’s office, I was over the moon. Her scent was intoxicating, and Six jumped up and down in my head. He wanted to take over and meet his mate. I had to push him back to shut him down temporarily. He wouldn’t stop chanting ‘Mate’ and ‘Mine’ alternately. As I was busy controlling Six, I could also feel Nate’s emotion and desire for physical contact over the mate bond. Max is not doing any better, either. It’s kind of hot, actually, that both Nate and I have the same intense attraction toward Agatha, perhaps due to the mate bond. And we are not even jealous of each other. Alphas are predominantly more possessive of their mates, and surprisingly, our wolves are willing to share.
[Third POV]Nathan was pacing in the living room of his suite the whole night. They didn’t sleep even for a moment. Sebastian and Agatha remained on the couch as they watched Nate’s eyes alternately change colors from blood red to midnight black a few times. He continuously murmured something unintelligible, all while maintaining a fierce demeanor.Nathaniel was a mixture of unresolved emotions all at once: worried, furious, confused, and pained. He lost too much in a short time. Too many unexplained events happened in the pack in the past couple of years, and most investigations hit a dead wall, leaving him increasingly disoriented. Does it all have to happen to him? Has he angered the moon goddess to punish him so much? What did he do to deserve this retribution? Too many questions floo
AgathaIt has been eight years since we started reuniting the supernatural species by building colonies for each kind. But the colonies we built never reached full occupancy. All the mystical creatures prefer their natural environment to concrete boxes. That’s what they call the rooms and buildings in the colony.Nate and Bastien managed to extend the forest line occupied by our little friends by offering the nearby packs hard-to-resist business deals and warrior support in case of war. The River Bed Pack had only gotten stronger and bigger, claiming the Nightwalker Pack when the River Bed defeated them after attacking us using the same strategy that the Black Moon Pack employed thirteen years ago. I never lifted the protection spell in the River Bed Pack. And since our family has gotten bigger, too, I cast
[Agatha’s POV]I cannot see anything. There’s darkness, silence, and a dreadful feeling that churns my insides. I could feel the goosebumps creeping on my skin, and a sense of discomfort crawled down my spine.Where am I? Why can’t I see anything? Why am I alone? Where’s Mom? Where’s Nate and Bastien? Where are my kids? Aren’t they supposed to be with me? I move my feet forward to search for a light, for a familiar place… The squishing sound was all I could hear with every step. The touch of soft mud swallows my feet up until my ankles. I don’t like where I am right now. I tried to squint my eyes as I scanned my surroundings. But there is nothing but pitch black.I opened my mouth and started calling
[Agatha’s POV]The day has finally come.I was nervous. My hands were sweaty, my stomach was churning, and the tightness in my chest kept coming back repeatedly. I looked around at the open field where all species started filling up from the morning. The colonies my mates built for other species were barely occupied, but we expect a few hundred to arrive anytime within the day.Orpheus volunteered to convince some of his kind, and they might come after sunset, too. Nate built another building without windows, with only two doors on the ground floor and another to the rooftop, designed for the vampire clan. One of the new business deals Bastien signed up for was the River Bed Blo
Hey guys, We are a few chapters away from completion. And as much as I wanted to make the story longer by adding additional twists and turns, it's already longer than planned. It was initially a 75-ish chapter, but I later realized that some details would be abruptly cut, hence the extension. Anyway, I am beyond grateful for reading and staying with Agatha until this point. This is my first shot at storytelling, and I need you to be brutal on me in the comment section if you think there are "should-haves" that I overlooked. And I do hope for your support for the coming stories.Warm hugs for all of you,Con Ques
[Third POV]It’s been five years.Nas and Sean started warrior training at the indoor gym their dad had set up inside the Packhouse, while Amara started using the U9 to practice her magic when she was two years old. The triplets were inseparable. Amara joined the boys at the gym for the combat training, and the boys would practice magic with their sister. On most days, no one gets injured, but sometimes, the boys are unlucky.“What is your schedule this week, baby?” Bastien asked Agatha as he stepped out of the walk-in closet. He wore a custom-made suit that matched Nate’s. Their tailor customized their wardrobe in twinning, just as much as Nas and Sean’s. In the same way, Agatha and Amara often wear identical white sundresse
[Agatha POV]It has been a week since I have given birth to our triplets. I walk slowly and easily now with slight discomfort in my stitches. I felt like a kid being supervised by townspeople; I was not allowed to lift anything, not even the babies. I breastfed while sitting or lying down, and there was always someone tailing me once I got on my feet. The alpha floor of the packhouse is full. Bastien’s parents have stayed with us, and we decided that all the grandparents must stay with us on the Alpha floor for fairness' sake. Mommy Lily said they will stay until the naming ceremony is over. I had never heard of the naming ceremony before. Still, since she is the only she-wolf and a former Luna who knew all the formalities and ceremonies in the werewolf community, I trust her judgment on everything pack-related. Not that it’s not important to me because it does, but
[Sebastian’s POV]The C-section procedure took a couple of hours to complete. We reached the hospital just a few minutes after Mommy Glinda, and Agatha arrived. Just in time to sign the consent paper for the operation, they said it would be impossible for Agatha to give natural birth to three children, as it may endanger her life. Two female doctors supervised the operation since Nate didn’t want a male doctor to see our mate naked, so Dr. Tim was out. Although impractical, I understand his possessiveness. Dr. Tim is the Pack doctor; he is the most qualified, and I would turn a blind eye to a male doctor who would operate on our mate if it guaranteed her safety. Thank goddess, Sienna is a specialist in pregnancy and childbirth, and Estella is as equally qualified.Three neonatal cart trolleys lin
[Agatha POV]“Mom, are you sure this would work?” I asked my mother as I stumped my feet like a small child. I had no doubts about my abilities, but it had been many years since I last summoned the other supernatural species. I don’t even remember it. Most of the stories I knew about summoning fairies, mermaids, elves, and gnomes were other people’s memories; they just told me about it and considered it as my version of the story as well. I was very young to remember, and that’s what has been bothering me right now.“Yes, it will. Where are all these doubts coming from, Agatha?” Mom chastised me. I get it. We have gone a long way to be wary now. Summoning the other species is the first major step in fu
[Third POV]“Mom, Dad, you have to promise that you will come to River Bed Pack to see our three musketeers,” Agatha pouted like a spoiled child throwing a tantrum over candy. “Oh, sweetheart, we won't miss it for the world,” Lily hugged her tightly, and Herod patted her shoulder before planting a kiss on the crown of her head.Seb approached them to free her mate from her parent’s hold. “Mom, Dad, you are suffocating her! And Mom, how come you don’t call me sweetheart anymore? What will become of me after my children are born,” he said with feigned disappointment. Herod immediately smacked his shoulder blade, “Enough of theatrics, Seb. Where’s your brother? Isn’t he sending you off?” Herod questioned him.
