Nathaniel was startled by their sudden arrival. He took a few steps backward while scanning the approaching rogues. He tried to filter the conversation in his mind link. He can’t afford to get distracted, not now.
Before he could figure out what was happening, two rogues in the middle of the formation stepped sideways, paving the way for a huge unshifted one wearing a black mask and a black fitted sleeveless hoodie. He wore black rubber gloves, leaving his tattooed biceps on display. His arms were folded across his chest, muscles screaming through his shirt.
His muscular form, broad shoulders, and V-shaped torso will not be mistaken for anything softer than a brick wall. His face was set in a hard line. The pockets of his black cargo pants are slightly bulked. His eyes, as dark as night, looked fierce and dangerous.
[Agatha’s POV]Four of our elite squad came with an unconscious man after patrolling along the perimeter line of our small sanctuary. He was badly bruised with scratches all over his arms and torso. His face was covered with a black cloth bag, otherwise, he was…. completely naked. They dropped him with a loud thud on the cottage’s front porch. As Nico saw the man in all his naked glory paraded in front of me, he instructed his men to bring the prisoner inside our cottage after throwing a pair of shorts to one of our rogues to put on the captive.“Explain!” Nico’s voice echoed on the walls of our small living room.I wonder what was Nico’s fascination with the word ‘explain’. He uses it every chance he gets.
Being a former commander of the elite warriors, Nico knows a lot about pack politics in the region and has met most of the pack leaders except for the packs where future leaders have been changed and transitioned in the past three years.Shortly after, they start talking about recent events in neighboring territories and Sebastian slowly confides to Nico about his removal from the position of Alpha of the Silver Mountain Pack and his failed mate bond.Agatha sat in silence as she listened to their conversation attentively. Now she is aware of the identities of her two alpha mates. But the more she hears about them, the more convinced she becomes to reject them, especially Nathaniel who seems to disrespect their bond. This is exactly the kind of trouble they are trying to prevent.
The whole room reeks of antiseptic, with the undertone of cleaning liquid and antibacterial spray. Only the constant beeping of the machine can be heard in the VIP room of the Pack Hospital. Nathan lies motionless on the hospital bed, several wires connecting him to the machines. The doctor removed his oxygen a few days ago after seeing that he could breathe normally on his own.The patient chart hangs on the edge of the hospital bed and an empty chair sits idly by near the bedside table. It’s been twelve days since Nathan was stabbed with silver knives tainted by Wolfsbane. He has not shown any signs of waking up since. Dr. Timothy, the pack doctor, has done double duty since the day Nathan was admitted to the hospital to monitor his progress. It was the same day the former Alpha and Luna returned fro
Dr. Tim ordered the hospital staff to move Nathan back to his VIP room and reattach the wires to monitor his condition. Nick instructed the doctor to perform various blood tests, MRI, ECG, and CT scans to make sure that the silver and wolfsbane were completely out of his system with no complications or internal damage. He also assigned two of his best warriors to guard the door of the Alpha’s room. Dr. Tim promised not to allow any medical staff to enter Nathan’s room without his instructions. Only Nick and Dr. Tim can come visit the Alpha. Now that the former alpha is dead, they must ensure Nathan’s fast recovery.Nick suggested that Luna Elaine should get involved in the preparation for the former Alpha’s funeral and also focus on the pack matters while Nathan is recovering, and she agreed easily.Nath
[Sebastian’s POV]We have been walking for hours, or maybe a day, for all I care. I feel like a dog ready to be slaughtered anytime with how Nico has been dragging me. Six is miserable. He can’t believe we can’t even fight back rogues. Even in the past three days, Nico and his group did not allow me to go out of the cottage. I didn’t complain about the accommodation though, I know they lack resources.Their cottage and shabby huts are just a bit better than a temporary tent built in the middle of nowhere after a hurricane. Every inch of my muscles is screaming in pain. I slept for three nights on a four-foot-long wooden bench where I couldn't even straighten my feet. I can’t turn on the sides or else I will fall on the ground. But I guess it is a better choice than sleeping on the rou
It was nine in the morning when I opened my eyes the following morning. There’s a post-it note from Aleck on my bedside table. He wants to throw a welcome party for me. I don’t think that’s a good idea though. I rushed to the bathroom for a quick shower. I grabbed a pair of sweatpants and a loose-fitting t-shirt from the wardrobe before sprinting to the training ground. If I remember correctly training lasts until noon. It means, I still have a couple of hours to sweat. As I jog to the training ground, I notice a lot of improvements in the pack premise. They put on a couple of obstacle courses in the training ground. Their size tells me that one is for full-grown wolves and she-wolves, and the other is for teens and pre-teens. They doubled the number of lamp posts, and in between, they installed concrete boxes as partitions with flowering plants in them. The whole area loo
Nico woke up in the middle of the night with an unusual swirl of cold wind. This kind of wind does not usually come during summer. The breeze carried faint voices and whispers he couldn’t understand. He jumped from his wooden bed and grabbed a t-shirt to check on Agatha next door.As he suspected, the white witch’s room is the source of the unusual rustle of cold breeze amid a hot summer night. Something suspicious was going on. He could sense something dark and dangerous as he crossed the doorway to Agatha’s room. Nico knows nothing about magic but his heightened werewolf senses can detect danger, which is exactly what it is.Agatha was lying on her back, her hands were lifted in the air, her elbows slightly bent, and her palms facing upward as if she was trying to avoid a questionable for
A thundering maniacal laughter broke the silence in the room, followed by the aggressive swirling of the thunderclouds above Agatha’s palms. Some tendrils of dark clouds tried to reach her forehead but vanished a few inches before they touched her skin. The dark clouds violently shoot a few tendrils on all corners of the room as if frantically searching for something but occasionally bounce back to its source. Five seconds, and everything froze before the tendrils slowly retreated to merge with the thunderclouds.Suddenly, a nightmare seems to invade Agatha’s dreams, trying to forge its way into her subconscious mind. They say that dreams are the windows to the subconscious mind. If her nightmare broke through that window, her conscious and subconscious minds could commun
Inside the darkroom of the Phoenicia Covenant headquarters, Baltazar was shouting expletives. All the cloaked members of the covenant were helpless, their heads hanging low. They didn’t know what kind of spell Agatha cast on them or on the room they were in. They couldn’t use any magic to break it or even teleport out of the ritual room.Today is the day Baltazar got the first taste of Agatha’s power. He underestimated her in the past and thought of her as a weakling.Without the guidance of an elder, it is nearly impossible to muster deep magic, but Agatha proved him wrong.“Eon, can you see where those rats went?” He blurted.“They are constantly moving, Baltazar, and I AM A
The three dropped like dry leaves in autumn in the middle of the forest. Agatha stood while Nate and Seb caught their breath. Sebastian emptied his stomach, and Nathaniel crunched his face as if repulsed by it.Sebastian wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, “I’m sorry. I know it’s gross. I don’t know if I will ever get used to this,” giving Agatha an awkward grin. Agatha tapped his shoulder affectionately. “It’s ok.”Sebastian straightened his back and snaked his arm around her waist before glaring at Nathaniel.“Now, now, Alpha. You seemed fine and thriving.”He glanced in Agatha’s direction, and she nodd
[Third POV]Nathaniel finally gave in to exhaustion. The sleepless nights had taken a toll on him. After Max resurfaced, he started healing Nathan's wounds, and he swiftly drifted into a deep sleep.Nick entered the VIP room of the pack hospital to check on the former Luna. Dr. Timothy had mind-linked him saying that Elaine regained consciousness an hour back. He didn’t want to disturb Nathan. His alpha needs rest so he can focus on the pack matters. He needs to resolve security issues and settle business deals before they get out of hand, but he can only do this if he is fully recovered.Rogue sightings occurred outside the pack's perimeter. The same was also happ
[Sebastian POV]“What was that all about, Agatha? Who was Glinda?” I asked her. I never saw her talk roughly and coldly until now. And that, too, to my parents.I paced inside the bedroom as she stood by the window, emotionless. Her cold expression looked troubling. I had never seen Agatha this way before. She was always warm and respectful toward others. Did my parents offend her? I had many questions that required answers from her, but I couldn’t force her to tell me things she wasn’t prepared to share. Just as I was convinced she wouldn’t answer, her next words surprised me.“She was my mother. I never mentioned her name to anyone, the coven called her the High Priestess, never by name, not even once.”
[Third POV]Agatha’s eyes fluttered open before closing them again. After a few attempts, and with the help of her hands to cover the sunlight streaming through the thin fabric of a semi-transparent white voile curtain, his vision adjusted to her surroundings.“Good morning,” Sebastian’s glowing smile greeted her as he lay next to her on the soft surface. She scanned the room with an impressed look. She glanced back at him with an innocent smile before responding, “Good Morning.”“Did you sleep well?”“Uh hmm,” she nodded.“You can freshen up. I asked o
[Third POV]Nathaniel was pacing in his bedroom, ignoring the blood from his wounded feet. Broken glasses, wine bottles, and side lamps were scattered on the floor. The room was a mess, contrary to its usual tidy and clean appearance. He didn’t get a minute of sleep after the realization hit him of what was happening the previous night. Being connected through the mate bond, he felt the intimacy between his two mates and it angered him even further. He can sense their arousal through the bond and spends hours in the shower to cool off his erection. For hours, Bastien and Agatha’s intimacy was thick over the mate bond, and Nate hated every minute of it.Though their mating cannot be considered cheating, he still felt betraye
[Sebastian POV]It’s hard to control Six. He is a strong Alpha wolf and very possessive about his mate. I fought so hard to restrain him from marking Agatha the night we mated. His canines were out and nearly touched that soft flesh in Agatha’s neck. I was relieved when I noticed that her eyes were shut at the time. I loved how responsive she was with my touch. With every hard thrust, I met with her writhing beneath me. She was so tight, so sensitive, and so delicate. Perhaps it was the same reason Six struggled to control himself.I understand Six. I want to do the same and seal our bond, but I can’t mark her without asking permission first. Although she agreed to mate with me, bearing my mark on her neck is an entirely different story.
Warning: This chapter contains some intimate details.[Agatha POV]I am completely unclothed. I can see how Bastien’s eyes darken with desire. His touch sends a shiver down my spine. Every kiss and every skin contact is electrifying.I wanted to cover myself; no one had seen me naked before, but he somehow convinced me to keep myself as naked as the day I was born. He said that only then would I learn to embrace myself as I am, with no inhibitions, free. Now, I feel like hiding my face. I can’t bear the thought of seeing him again when there is not a single inch of my body he hadn’t seen, touched, or tasted.
Warning: This chapter contains some intimate details. [Sebastian POV]My heart hammers against my ribcage. The moment I saw a tear falling from her eye, I felt like protecting her from all forms of pain and danger. It breaks my heart to see her in pain. She doesn’t deserve all the suffering she endured over time. She is so young, so innocent, so pure. Life has never been fair to her. I want to chastise the moon goddess for allowing her to suffer this much. I could have taken her two years ago to give her the comfort and love she deserves and longs for. But I didn’t know she was my mate then. If I could only turn back the hands of time. If only I could…I cradle her in my arms as she cries her heart out. If only I could, I want her to stay this way forever, free from harm and misery. But I know it’s not possible. She is bound to achieve great things, and I will not stop her from doing so. She has a purpose bigger than our mate bond, and I will be there to support her with whatever I ca
