Chapter 1 - Agatha's Vision

Three years later.

“So, Nico, what would you do if your Moon Goddess screwed up your mate pairing?” I asked.

“Language, Agatha!”

Nico lifted his gaze from the book he was reading, looking petulant. “Is this conversation taking us anywhere worth discussing? If not, just drop it.”

I brought the teacup to my lips for a sip, took a deep breath, and looked him straight in the eye, pouting. Most days pass like this: I ask a question, and this grumpy ex-commander answers impatiently. I don’t even understand why he needs to read that same book over and over again. If it were me, I would have memorized it by now and just played it in my head like a broken record. He talks more like a college professor than an ex-commander, if you ask me. Not that I’m complaining; he’s a badass, and he protects me like a big brother would.

“I had a vision last night!” I lazily whispered, fidgeting with my fingers.

He gently closed the book in his hand, dropped it on his lap, and squared his shoulder. Then, he relaxed his back on the wooden chair he had been lounging in for the past two hours. After crossing his legs, he gave me his full attention. “I am listening!” he responded.

“You heard it?”

“I am a werewolf, Agatha! I may not have the same ability to read minds as you do, but I have an enhanced sense of hearing,” he retorted lazily. “You forgot?”

“Al….right.“ I said mockingly.

“So?”

“What?” I asked

“About the vision. Tell me,” he demanded.

“It’s weird and sometimes when the vision changes and all, you know, vision is subjective. Some events can alter the outcome, I… uhm…..” I stammered.

“Did it ever happen to you before?”

I did not answer for a while.

“Did any of your visions change in the past?” he clarified, his tone stiffening a bit. I’m not sure if he was getting impatient or just worried about my vision.

“Uhm, No. But this might, who knows?” I shrugged.

“O…KAY..?” raising his eyebrows while waving his hands, encouraging me to continue. “Stop stalling, Agatha,” he growls. “Are we going to keep the guessing game or you will tell me about the vision now? You never hesitated to tell me anything before, why make a fuss now?” He sounds so irritated, geez.

“Uhm. I…I think I am mated to two Alphas,” I stated, just slightly above a whisper, while tattering the hem of my skirt.

“WHAT THE FUCK?” Nico nearly jumped from his chair. His wolf almost took over as his eyes turned midnight black.

In a few seconds, his claws elongated, and an inch of fur surfaced from his arms and face. He closed his eyes to relax his nerves and took a few deep breaths. He opened his eyes after five long seconds and threw his arms in the air with a look of desperation. He took two long strides toward me with a darkened expression.

“YOU THINK? Explain!” he shouted, but not unkindly.

I cannot form a coherent answer. Am I intimidated? Absolutely! Scared? Hell, No! He wouldn’t hurt me. We have already talked about this subject more times than I can remember. Mates equal risks. For them and me.

I am a witch rogue, if that even amounts to anything… and I don’t do mates. At least, that’s what I thought.

I met Nico a few months after my sixteenth birthday. He was with five of his elite warriors from their previous pack. It wasn’t clear why they left the pack, though. We have this ‘don't ask, don't tell’ arrangement. They only tell me what’s necessary for our safety and survival, nothing personal. They are cheating in a way. They can mind link! They talk dirty, curse, and joke in their heads. How mean?

But I’m different. I talk like a bipolar parrot. I share more than I should. To my benefit, they let all my shenanigans slide since I am the youngest and the only female member of the group. I am their spoiled princess, whether they like it or not. But when our lives are on the line, I don’t quip.

[Flashback]

I just had my full powers at the time. After I witnessed Baltazar turn my Mom into ashes, I focused on my energy. I visualized a safe place, but not specific, where I could practice my magic as mom instructed me. I gathered all the books, herbs, and crystals I needed for my magic before I watched Baltazar burn down the coven into nothingness. He searched for me on every corner of the coven like a madman. I can’t blame him; he was stuck in the pendant for eight hundred years, and losing me in an instant can be maddening.

I closed my eyes and chanted a few lines of incantations. When I opened my eyes, I was in a dark and dreary place. I can hear a faint sound of water dripping not so far from where I sat. I struggle to breathe in the beginning. The humidity in the air was so thick, and I suddenly felt claustrophobic. I don’t have an idea where I exactly landed, but if my magic is to be trusted, then I should be in a safe and secluded place. Hopefully, no other witch can find me soon.

I looked around and explored the place. I realized I was inside a cave. I could see intriguing rock formations on the walls. Some icicle-shaped crystals and rocks fill the ceiling of the cave, and water occasionally drips from them. I imagined that if I could create a small source of light, the whole cave would be illuminated. The light rays may bounce on the icicles and shine brightly like a chandelier.

About a hundred feet away, a water stream passed beneath the cave floor. The water was as clear as a crystal, and I could see the bottom of the waterbed. However, with limestones surrounding the surface, I’m not sure if the water is safe for drinking.

The cave walls sparkle from the crystals and other stones buried underneath the surface. This cave holds a massive wealth that could turn friends and families against each other.

With this much treasure still intact? I can only assume that no one discovered this place yet.

“I’m safe,” I mustered.

The cave reeked of a peculiar smell—a damp stench, a suffocating sulfuric emission, an ammonia-ish odor, and something rotten—enough to make me nauseated. Rats and bats are most likely the culprits, to some extent, and the rest comes from the chemical reactions from mineral deposits. I decided to search for a dryer land with better natural light. I walked for what seemed like hours, climbing, crawling, tiptoeing, and sliding into different sections of the cave. Exhaustion started to kick in when I found an opening. I walked a little further and found a plantation of aconite plants at the end of the cave, Wolfsbane. The area of the aconite plantation is like a sandwiched shelter between rock formations with merely a six-foot gap. A pile of teak trees barricaded one side. The tree line resembles a fence aimed to conceal the cave opening. With the overgrown bushes and vines, the cave’s mouth is completely hidden. If you cross the teak trees, it will lead you to the deep forest, while the

[Sebastian’s POV]I pushed open the double-panel wooden door at the entrance of the pack house.“I’m back!” I shouted.“Good, good! ‘Bout time you came!” My dad took long strides from his office door to meet me halfway. “Now, you can travel to find your fated mate. Start with the neighboring packs first!” he added.“Dad, I just arrived!” I was annoyed, so I stepped back to look at him sideways. “Can’t you at least give me a few months to adjust? I was away for four years! Geez!” I complained, but not disrespectfully.“WATCH YOUR TONE, SEB!” he playfully scolded with a smirk across his wrinkled face. Dad slaps my shoulder with his calloused hand and drags me to his study. “This is not a negotiation, son! You wasted enough time goofing around with the humans. It’s high time to take on the responsibility. Your mom and I are getting old, you have to take over the pack and give us an heir!”I raised my hands in the air in desperation, feeling defeated. “Alright, alright!” I turned to my r

If our speed doesn't drop below 100 miles per hour, it will take us twelve hours to drive from the human-populated city back to Silver Mountain Pack. This is the only land travel I hate the most. The route was not bad, but we had to take a parallel road to the perimeter line of the River Bed Pack. Though Silver Mountain and River Bed are not considered enemy packs, we are not allies either. We share a two-hundred-mile boundary line with them, requiring nearly a third of our warriors to take several shifts on border patrol to avoid rogue or non-pack incursion. They do the same from their side of the perimeter line. Most of our border patrols engage in glowering and growling contests with theirs at any given time, or so I’ve heard from my father’s Delta and Gamma. I was wasted last night and swiftly drifted into a deep sleep the moment Arci stepped foot on the accelerator.I don’t know how long I slept, but I was startled awake when Six started getting restless. “How far have we reach

Before I could react, the leader of the border patrol jumped over the six-foot-high barbed boundary line. The scrambling of the other pack warriors follows him but I can barely understand what they are saying. Arci stood in front of me with his right hand twisted backward, pinning me between the car and him. His knees were slightly bent, ready to shift in a fly to fight if need be. The leader stopped barely three steps away from Arci but his predatory eyes never left mine. The rest of the group caught up and Arci spread his arms for the barricade, ordering me to get inside the car and drive as fast as I could. He was ready to sacrifice himself for me. There was no way any of us would survive this fight. But what kind of Alpha would I be if I ran away with tails between my legs at the first sign of trouble, leaving my driver behind? I stood tall, not breaking my gaze on their leader who just cleared his throat. “I want to speak with him,” the leader tilted his head slightly to the le

It’s been three years since Dad disowned me. I still remember that day. I got so furious that I relentlessly cursed the Moon Goddess for pairing me with another Alpha as a mate. I have no physical attraction to Nate, but the mate bond messes up my head, and I feel protective of him. I have this whimsical desire for his company. When my connection with the Silver Mountain pack snapped, it all became clear to me, I lost everything and everyone dear to me. My chest tightened, fighting the urge to thrash everything I lay my eyes on. I was enraged but couldn’t blame anyone.I have a limited time.I stepped out of the packhouse and ran through the thick forest allowing Six to take over. I ran for what felt like an eternity until the breeze suddenly changed.

  • The Witch Luna   Epilogue

AgathaIt has been eight years since we started reuniting the supernatural species by building colonies for each kind. But the colonies we built never reached full occupancy. All the mystical creatures prefer their natural environment to concrete boxes. That’s what they call the rooms and buildings in the colony.Nate and Bastien managed to extend the forest line occupied by our little friends by offering the nearby packs hard-to-resist business deals and warrior support in case of war. The River Bed Pack had only gotten stronger and bigger, claiming the Nightwalker Pack when the River Bed defeated them after attacking us using the same strategy that the Black Moon Pack employed thirteen years ago. I never lifted the protection spell in the River Bed Pack. And since our family has gotten bigger, too, I cast

I could feel the goosebumps creeping on my skin, and a sense of discomfort crawled down my spine.Where am I? Why can’t I see anything? Why am I alone? Where’s Mom? Where’s Nate and Bastien? Where are my kids? Aren’t they supposed to be with me? I move my feet forward to search for a light, for a familiar place… The squishing sound was all I could hear with every step. The touch of soft mud swallows my feet up until my ankles. I don’t like where I am right now. I tried to squint my eyes as I scanned my surroundings. The colonies my mates built for other species were barely occupied, but we expect a few hundred to arrive anytime within the day.Orpheus volunteered to convince some of his kind, and they might come after sunset, too. Nate built another building without windows, with only two doors on the ground floor and another to the rooftop, designed for the vampire clan. One of the new business deals Bastien signed up for was the River Bed Blo

Hey guys, We are a few chapters away from completion. And as much as I wanted to make the story longer by adding additional twists and turns, it's already longer than planned. It was initially a 75-ish chapter, but I later realized that some details would be abruptly cut, hence the extension. Anyway, I am beyond grateful for reading and staying with Agatha until this point. This is my first shot at storytelling, and I need you to be brutal on me in the comment section if you think there are "should-haves" that I overlooked. And I do hope for your support for the coming stories.Warm hugs for all of you,Con Ques

  • The Witch Luna   Chapter 96 - Training and Travels

[Third POV]It’s been five years.Nas and Sean started warrior training at the indoor gym their dad had set up inside the Packhouse, while Amara started using the U9 to practice her magic when she was two years old. The triplets were inseparable. Amara joined the boys at the gym for the combat training, and the boys would practice magic with their sister. On most days, no one gets injured, but sometimes, the boys are unlucky.“What is your schedule this week, baby?” Bastien asked Agatha as he stepped out of the walk-in closet. He wore a custom-made suit that matched Nate’s. Their tailor customized their wardrobe in twinning, just as much as Nas and Sean’s. In the same way, Agatha and Amara often wear identical white sundresse

[Agatha POV]It has been a week since I have given birth to our triplets. I walk slowly and easily now with slight discomfort in my stitches. I felt like a kid being supervised by townspeople; I was not allowed to lift anything, not even the babies. I breastfed while sitting or lying down, and there was always someone tailing me once I got on my feet. The alpha floor of the packhouse is full. Bastien’s parents have stayed with us, and we decided that all the grandparents must stay with us on the Alpha floor for fairness' sake. Mommy Lily said they will stay until the naming ceremony is over. I had never heard of the naming ceremony before. Still, since she is the only she-wolf and a former Luna who knew all the formalities and ceremonies in the werewolf community, I trust her judgment on everything pack-related. Not that it’s not important to me because it does, but

[Sebastian’s POV]The C-section procedure took a couple of hours to complete. We reached the hospital just a few minutes after Mommy Glinda, and Agatha arrived. Just in time to sign the consent paper for the operation, they said it would be impossible for Agatha to give natural birth to three children, as it may endanger her life. Two female doctors supervised the operation since Nate didn’t want a male doctor to see our mate naked, so Dr. Tim was out. Although impractical, I understand his possessiveness. Dr. Tim is the Pack doctor; he is the most qualified, and I would turn a blind eye to a male doctor who would operate on our mate if it guaranteed her safety. I had no doubts about my abilities, but it had been many years since I last summoned the other supernatural species. I don’t even remember it. Most of the stories I knew about summoning fairies, mermaids, elves, and gnomes were other people’s memories; they just told me about it and considered it as my version of the story as well. I was very young to remember, and that’s what has been bothering me right now.“Yes, it will. Where are all these doubts coming from, Agatha?” Mom chastised me. I get it. We have gone a long way to be wary now. Summoning the other species is the first major step in fu

[Third POV]“Mom, Dad, you have to promise that you will come to River Bed Pack to see our three musketeers,” Agatha pouted like a spoiled child throwing a tantrum over candy. “Oh, sweetheart, we won't miss it for the world,” Lily hugged her tightly, and Herod patted her shoulder before planting a kiss on the crown of her head.Seb approached them to free her mate from her parent’s hold. “Mom, Dad, you are suffocating her! And Mom, how come you don’t call me sweetheart anymore? What will become of me after my children are born,” he said with feigned disappointment. Herod immediately smacked his shoulder blade, “Enough of theatrics, Seb. Where’s your brother? Isn’t he sending you off?” Herod questioned him.
