Dylan Windell’s POV
I felt something good, something that I have been dying to let out as I was reading my father’s journal. I have been reading his career journey and his research as he loved to put everything together every day during his life.
I was so consumed with revenge and anger that I did not see anything clearly when I was being slapped by Daisy Dyer.
Daisy Dyer, daughter of my father’s killer.
I smirked as I felt the pang of her delicate hand on my cheek. We were breathing heavily as I was turning to look at her. She was looking at me hard before she realized what she just did. She slapped me and there was no remorse in it.
“So, you think a slap will let me shut up the fact that your father was not truly a scientist that had made his discovery?” I said before I lifted my hand to my cheek and I was rubbing it. It was the only contact that I ever got from her for the last 2 years.
Daisy Dyer was somewhat passive in our time together. I was looking at her every move whenever we’re in the lab but she did not say anything other than listening to her music when shew as working.
I think I will miss that after this.
“You’re lying,” she said as she was looking at me. Her brown eyes were hard but I don’t think that my cock would twitch after I uncovered the truth about her, or rather her father did to mine. I was angry but I did not diss the fact that I was taken by her beauty at all.
Daisy Dyer was one hot woman with her brown eyes like melted chocolate and her brown hair that she usually likes to braid. But today, she put it in a messy bun. I wanted it to tumble over my pillow and wanted to see her expression when she was climaxing…
What the fuck was wrong with me?!
I cannot be thinking about taking her to my bed when I knew the truth. Daisy Dyer was the daughter of my father’s killer. And I will do anything to bring her down.
“Why would I lie about something that has been written by the very person that was stating that your father was a conniving thief?” I sneered at her.
“Jayson Dyer took my father’s research and made it his own. He did not do all the readings and the writing even though I must give your father some credit for him putting my father’s name in the scientific article. But that just it. His name when he was being denied by NSF to get the funding that he needed for his research,” I said as I was walking around Daisy.
“Then, your father dares to go around the world and presented said work. I could not think that the scientific community would be lied to by a conniving thief. In fact,” I said as I was leaning closer to her ear as I was bending behind her. Daisy’s perfume wharfed through me.
“I think you might be doing the same with my research. So I suggest you run back to the little ranch that you came from before ending up here,” I said before Daisy was turning to look at me and stepped back.
I smirked at her as she was narrowing her eyes at me. She was planning some comeback but it was too late since my phone was ringing.
“If you excuse me, I have to take this call,” I said as I was looking at the caller ID. It was Uncle Sam.
“You will never prove that my father was responsible for your father’s death. For all I know, your father died because of a heart attack,” she said as she was looking at me before I smirked at her.
“We’ll see what the police have to say then,” I said as I was stepping outside the room and I think I don’t want to be in the same room as Daisy Dyer anymore.
“Hello Uncle,” I greeted as I was walking toward the door. I don’t want to be in the same building as Daisy Dyer any longer. I can go back to my office at the physics building for all I care.
“Ah, you pick up. I have a favor to ask you. You are not busy, right?” He said as I was opening the door and the cold air was hitting me. It was Spring but the Winter’s breeze did not change the fact that we’re still be freezing right now.
“What kind of favor?” I asked him as he chuckled.
“it seems that your cousin will be coming home after all,” he said. I grimaced. I wondered which cousin was he referring to.
“Which one? Male or female?” I asked him. Uncle Sam chuckled before I was walking toward the Physics building.
“Which one do you think if I was asking you to get him?’’ He said before I stopped in my track. I was smiling as I chuckled.
“If that’s the case, I would be happy to get him at the airport then,” I said as I was looking at the sky. Suddenly, the cloud was shining on me.
“Well, he will be coming in next month. I just wanted you to clear your schedule before your hectic university life will be coming at you,” he said as I was shaking my head.
“You know I don’t have a hectic life, right?”
“Who knows, maybe these days it will be all the different,’’ he said before I rolled my eyes.
“Anything else that I can do for you then?” I asked my uncle and immediately I regretted it when he was asking the million-dollar question.
“Don’t you have any woman to be introducing to me?” He asked as I was rubbing my mouth with my hands. I don’t think I wanted to share that info with my uncle.
“Not at the moment,” I said as I was walking to my office before I was smiling at the familiar faces in the Physics building. My uncle sighed.
“You know, you’re not getting—“
“Young, I know, Uncle. But, it was just…there was no one that holds my fancy,” I said before my mind retorted at the statement.
Liar!
I was rubbing my neck before I was looking at the woman that was approaching me. I have to end this call before her voice will penetrate the phone.
“I got to go. I call you later, bye,” I said before I was hanging up the phone as Maya was looking at me. She was from the Chemistry Department and I think she was dating that Silas guy from the Geology department.
“Someone that you don’t want to talk about?” She asked me as I was smiling at her.
“Something like that,” I said before Maya was laughing at my statement.
“Tell me about that. But I don’t think I want to hear it. Why don’t we focus on the matter in hand then?” She said as she was showing the chart that she uncovered for the things that I asked her to do. It was kind of retaliation for the paper that Daisy believed and I will debunk that paper as much as I can.
I think I can win this and honored my father’s name.
Daisy Dyer’s POV
I put the bag pack that I have been carrying my stuff whenever I went to school. I laid in bed as I was staring at the ceiling. After 2 years of living in this apartment that Aunt Milly got, I was content to say that it has been my home from then.
But ranch would always be my home.
I was looking at the ceiling as I was remembering the talk that we have in the lab. I was frustrated and angry because of the accusation that Dylan Windell had on my father. I mean, how can he be so sure that my father was the reason that his father has a heart attack?
I heard the news when I was 15 years old. My parents have been long gone but I saw the news of the renowned professor from a university to be having a heart attack and the scientific community was lost for his death. I don’t know who but I think the last name was Windell.
Professor Theodore George Windell.
I was rubbing my eyes as I was trying to forget the moment I have with Dylan Windell. I don’t know how he got that conclusion of my father being a catalyst for his father’s death. I was not aware of the fact that my father might be taking his research information from someone that considered him as a best friend.
I sighed as I was turning on my side. I was looking at the bathroom door before I heard a text. I don’t want to open it but I have to since I was a fast replied messenger. If anything was replied more than 15 minutes, they knew something will be wrong.
And nothing could harm from replying to a text.
It was from Ella as she will be coming to visit this weekend. I smiled as I was replying to her that I have been waiting and I cannot say that the others knew about it as well. But I will try to make sure that Ella will meet them.
We were due for a reunion.
I threw my phone on the bed as I was laying on my back again. I was looking at the ceiling but this time I was smiling. I don’t think about what Dylan Windell said and I think my feelings for him have wavered.
Good.
I mean, he would not want to be with his father’s murderer’s daughter anyway.
Daisy Dyer’s POVI was looking at the airport before I parked my car and I was standing out to wait for my friend to come out. I was leaning against the hood of the car before I was looking at the familiar slender figure of my friend.
Daisy Dyer’s POVI sighed as I knew Ella would be waiting for my answer. I don’t want her to think that I was avoiding the question and further piqued her curiosity about my real relationship with the host.“He’s&hell
Daisy Dyer’s POVI was looking at the clock before I was knocking on Ella’s room. I know that she has the tour at 8 AM but it would not hurt to raise her early.“Ella! Wake up. Time to get ready,” I said as I was knoc
Daisy Dyer’s POVI turned around to look at him as he was smirking at me. I was breathing heavily since he was just putting me on the same ground as my father.Information burglar.
Dylan Windell’s POVAfter what I did to Daisy and how she was responding to my kiss, I went out of the lab. I cannot think why she would be happy if I was kissing her. By her reaction, I know that she was happy that I was kissing her.
Daisy Dyer’s POV“Promise me you will come back,” I said as I was hugging Ella. She will be flying to Seattle to settle her work and I think I will be looking forward to her coming to NYU this time. We will be having so much fun together!
Daisy Dyer’s POVI was looking at the stage before someone was taking the seat beside me. On my right side, I have Lucia already so I wondered who it was on my left.“I’m sorry, is this seat taken?” Someone asked as I
Daisy Dyer’s POVI don’t know where we were going but one thing I was sure, we were still at the hall as I was walking with Dylan who was pulling at my hand.“Dylan, you’re hurting me,” I said as I was trying to
