Her lips were soft and plum. She kissed me hard and I wanted to make her mine. “Asher” she moaned.

“You’re mine” I whispered against her lips.

“Always” she whispered back.

A fierce knock on my door woke me up. Sweat covered my forehead. It was her! Why am I dreaming of her? The door banged again. I frowned in anger. “What?” I shouted. I was so worked up I didn’t realize I had spent the night sleeping on the couch.

“Alpha! Derek and his companions have approached our borders” It was Gray.

Immediately, I got up and rubbed my face. He’s here!

“How many vampires?” I asked as I rushed out. Gray walked with me, matching my speed.

“Twelve”

I was expecting him to come but not so soon. What’s he going to do? Why would he bring only twelve vampires with him? He would be foolish to attack. My warriors are stronger. One bite to their neck and they are gone. No, he’s here to talk. He wants to negotiate. He’s here to make a deal. And I think I know what it is.

“Cole, bring them towards the tents. We’ll talk there. Keep them away as far as possible” I mind-linked him.

“Yes Alpha”

Gray and I reached to the tents. Five of my warriors stood behind me and Gray beside me. Gray was the King Omega and Cole was the King Beta.

A strange sickly smell filled the atmosphere. They were here. His smile never left his face showing his canines.

“Old friend!” he greeted.

“We were never friends” I smiled as calmly.

“Now, now let’s not be grumpy. You’re breaking my heart. Do you know how much we had to kill to get here?”

My eyes went dark but I managed a smile.

He smirked satisfied by my reaction, “I’m kidding.”

“Why are you here Derek?” I asked and then my gaze went past to his twelve vampires. “Obviously you didn’t come to fight”

“You are indeed right Asher”

I blinked. Trying to hide the irritation off my face due to his taking my name, I asked him, “Let’s hear it then. What is that you want? Or to be more precise, what is it that your King wants?”

The cocky smile disappeared from his face and was replaced by a sharp look.

“Oh Derek,” I chuckled, “You actually thought I don’t know you’re working for your King now? You should know always know the person you’re getting into bed with, friend”

He tried to hide his anger. “I am not your friend” and then without a second thought he said, “My King wants peace with your kind”

“Forgive me but that’s something hard to believe when coming out from the mouth of a reckless bloodthirsty vampire who killed thousands of my kind.” I answered sitting down on the chair. He remained standing.

“Don’t be the good guy here. It’s not like your kind didn’t try to destroy us completely. My ‘movement’ was just to balance things out”

“Cut to the chase, Derek.” He was getting on my nerves now.

He nodded, smiling. “I want us to make a deal. A promise…” he watched my eye carefully and I nodded at him to continue.

“I come here with a marriage proposal sent by King Monroe” he said and I smiled at myself for being right.

Cole looked at Derek as if he muttered gibberish. “What?” Cole spat in disbelief. “Have you lost your mind, vampire?”

“It’s alright Cole. Let him finish” I urged him to continue.

“Princess Lisa Monroe, daughter of Vampire King Luther Monroe, has agreed to be your bride. She is the only daughter of The King and he wants you to consider this proposal. It will be an act of an alliance and truce between us. No more wars or bloodshed. No more dominance over each other. Just friendship and happily ever after” he grinned, finishing what he said.

“Hmm” I hummed and acted as if I was thinking it through. “Yeah, no if that’s the only reason why you came here then you wasted my time and you’re wasting your time Derek. You would seriously think that I would even consider this offer. Hell, this isn’t even an offer. Its complete bullshit! I think you agree with me, don’t you? So why don’t you just put this…act aside”

His eyes twitched in anger. I got him.

“Besides, why are you playing the messenger for The King and Queen? I thought you played solo, took no orders from others and shit. Damn, I guess I was wrong”

I smiled proudly at his aggravated face. “You’re making a mistake Asher. This was a good and fair deal. Rejecting it means declaring war and making us permanent enemies.” He gritted his teeth.

“I know. But I would rather you be my enemies than my friends” I said grimly.

“You are going to regret this” with this he turned around and left. Noises like flash of the wind was heard and they were gone in a blink of an eye.  .

I need to find my mate.

Help me, please, Moon Goddess.

A week passed by, I was having a great time working at the bar. It was tiring, sure, yes, but it felt good. It helped me sleep better at night so I considered it a big achievement. I locked up at night and came out to throw the trash. The sky was clear and the air was fresh. I took a deep breath and started walking home while playing music through my earphones. The streets were emptier than usual. Maybe it was Wednesday! I don’t know. I started crossing the street when I nearly tripped. My laces were opened. I bent down to tie them and that’s when I felt a little beam of light on myself. It wasn’t long before I heard to vicious honking of the car. My head shot up and I quickly got up to get out of the way from the speeding car. Bad luck! My laces weren’t tied yet and due to the sudden rush I tripped real bad and fell on the ground roughly. The car screeched and turned away. It didn’t hit me and neither was the car damaged in any way. Stopping a few feet away

Taking a deep breath I twisted the door knob of my room and entered. My eyes caught her by the window, one of her hands were handcuffed by the window. She watched me with weary eyes as I unbuttoned my top buttons.“You have a weird name” she spoke, unexpectedly. “Alpha? It’s a funny name,” she mocked, a soft laugh escaped her mouth.“Well I’ve never heard the name Aurelia before,” while saying her name I thought to myself, it has a nice sound to it.“Its way better than Alpha,” she rolled her eyes.I smirked at her. Her eyes were hazel with shades of green. Her features were sharp and prominent. Her height was average it balanced out with her figure. She was slim and smart. Her nose was sharp and straight and flawlessly lined lips that begged to be tasted. Everything about her was perfect. She licked her dry lips and turned her gaze away. I didn’t realize I was star

I couldn’t’ sleep the whole night. Homesickness, I guess. My thoughts were jammed from the memories of Mike and Jamie and Aunt Cindy. Getting the boys out of trouble was like a daily routine for me. Covering up for the mess they made and supporting them for everything they did whether it was right or wrong made me feel good.I was dearly missing father too. I couldn’t help but think how different things would have been if he was still alive. It felt like ages since I last went hunting. I missed the moments we shared in the forest. The thunder roared outside as my heart yearned to be hugged by my family. A tear rolled down my cheek as I peered outside the window. It looked peaceful despite the fiery winds. Silver trickles ran down the glass as the rain murmured through the window. The wolves howled. It was only natural for wolves to be loping around. Recalling the surrounding when they got me out of the car, I realized this mansion

Derek’s POV: Wearing my black shirt I left the room, shirt left unbuttoned as I walked through the empty hallways of the Palace. I had to meet the King. It was time we went forth with the plan. “What’s the hurry Derek?” King Luther slurred as he drank from the sixth human who lay topless on the table. The rest were lifelessly settled on the floor. King Luther wasn’t a fat grumpy King, no, he was smart and handsome even being six hundred years old. No spark was lost. That’s the beauty of a Vampire. Flawless beauty unlike those furry stinky animals! “It has to be done now,” “But you just paid them a visit,” he pointed out. “It’s almost a week now. They won’t be expecting a visit anytime soon which it makes it perfect. I’ll be extra discreet,” I smiled. He laughed and held a napkin in his hand. “Go, take whoever you need,” he wiped the blood that ran down his chin. I gave him a nod and left. I had to pay Lisa a visit first. Entering her room, I scanned it but she wasn’t there. An

Now with this new truth about me, a lot of questions were answered but I was still figuring out a way to tell Asher. How can I just drop the bomb on him? As absurd as it sounds it also seems impossible. There has to be a way in which I could prove it to him. Since he, or anyone for that matter, can’t see my mark, it only adds complication. It was understandable why Rufus was not in the favor of me just blubbering it all out to Asher. As much as I wanted to, I couldn’t. I could not go up to him and tell him that I was the last of the White Crescents, the royal pack which was wiped out thousands of years ago.Guess it would have to wait till I can train my body enough to bring out my wolf!It was mid-February so the land was covered in snow. Calming my rapid heartbeat, I prepared myself to have conversation with the purple eyed man. I had been thinking about conversing with him ever since our last interrupted chat in the bathroom yesterday. The reason why I was so edgy was unknown to me. He wasn’t an enemy, I was sure of that. In fact something was awfully familiar about him. He seemed like someone who would know answers about the white crescent mark I was on my chest. He said I wasn’t someone ordinary. What am I? Ah. It is exactly why I am being edgy. The horror of finding out who I am. Asher had gone out to patrol the borders. Everyone was busy after the recent attack. On guard! We had suffered a lot of casualties, many lives were lost and not just of our pack army, many people of the settlement also died, women and children. It was devastating to have witnessed them getting murdered in front of my very own eyes. I shook my thoughts and took a deep breath. As soon as I imagined those purple enigmatic eyes, I fel

Cold wind greeted my face as I ran in the white forest. It was freezing but I was only dressed in a white long frock, my hair hung loose over my shoulders. I wasn’t cold though, I was all warmed up. I knew that warmth. That emotion! Oh I knew it all too well. I was in heat. Turning around, my eyes searched the area hoping to find him but he was nowhere. With a rapid heartbeat I pressed my back against a tree and took slow breaths to relieve myself from my tortuous pain. I closed my eyes to think of something, anything that would get my mind off him. “Trying to hide from me?” his voice caught me off guard, my eyes sapped open. He was standing in front of me, amazement dancing no his face. “It’s funny how you think it would work, especially, when you’re aroused,” he whispered in my ear. “Don’t tease me Asher,” I whined, “You always do, it’s…it’s embarrassing,” He chuckled and apologized, “I just like to see you blush,” He started kissing me, his hands roaming over my body.

Derek’s POV: She lay beside me as her sleek arms wrapped around my naked chest. Both of us enveloped in our chain of thoughts lay still after hours of love making. “I don’t understand how father can even think that the Werewolf King will agree to marry me. Especially when he’s found his mate,” We have our ways and she knows it but it was pointless to answer so I stayed quiet. She did have a point. Hypothetically, even if he did agree, their marriage would be the definition of a failure. It was one story if they fell in love and married and blah blah but forcing them into marriage was plain out stupid. Does the King have something else in mind that he isn’t telling me? Is he plotting something behind my back? “He’ll be a prisoner here Lisa. He would be under your control completely. Use him…for whatever needs you have. I heard wolves are some hot creatures to have sex with,” I snuggled in her neck. She hummed and chuckled. “Heard or experienced?” she looked at me questioningly, “

Asher’s POV:Shutting the bedroom door, I stood outside for a minute to calm my crazy heartbeat. It’s funny how the mate bond can make you act. We were in the middle of a crisis, attacked by the Vampires, Aurelia was almost abducted by Derek, lots of my people were killed, brutally, we just got to know that Sabine has wolfsbane running in her blood, Jacob almost died. Jarvis let out a howl, he was in pain. He was in so much pain and I didn’t realize I was shedding tears. “Please stop,” I begged Derek, I begged him like the weak pathetic and helpless human I am.“Shh,” he grabbed my face, cupping my cheeks and cooed as if I were a baby, “Don’t look at him, focus on me,”“Why are you doing this?” I mat

“Calm down Aurelia,” it said again. I shrieked, nearly tripping over the coffee table. Turning my head around, I stood frozen to the ground as I watched the purple eyes staring right back at me from the mirror. With a quick twist I looked behind me only to see nothing but when I saw back in the mirror they were still there. That tall lean man with a black hood hiding his face, nothing but the dark glow of his purple eyes was visible, a purplish black cloak wrapped around his body as he held onto a wooden stick, a purple gem placed at its head. A dark powerful aura surrounded him, something about him was sinister and that is why I always felt afraid when his eyes were on me. “What, what do you want from me?” my voice shook. “I want you to not be afraid,” he instructed and I took a big gulp. “Who are you?” I asked again. “I’m not here to hurt you Aurelia,” he assured. “How do you know me?” I asked hoping he might respond with a clear answer.
