It Is Now Hunting Us

Here's what happened last time on The Werewolf's Superiority

The expedition team discusses what path that we are going to take. We decide on the quickest path, the most dangerous path. A storm is brewing above us, with strong winds and rain. A part of the path was destroyed due to rocks that fell on it. Doctor Smith slips, and I try to help her up. But in the end, she still falls to her death. We take shelter in a cave and wait out the storm. Steve and I start to explore the cave, looking for wood to burn to keep everyone warm.

We are all huddled up to try and keep warm with the small fire I built. Steve walked down into the cave to find some more pieces of wood. I put on some more wood to give us some heat, but it is not enough. I hand the sticks over and start looking for Steve.

Every time the lightning strikes, you can see deep into the cave. As I am walking in, I can see in the distance. It seems like a flashlight is lying on the floor in front of me. I walk towards the flashlight to pick it up. I get to it and pick it up. I use the light to look deeper into the cave.

Concerned, I call out to Steve;

"Hey...Steve. Where are you?"

The cave leads to a large open section. I use the flashlight to look at what I can see. I put my right foot down and fall over something. I point the flashlight to see what it is. It looks like a cracked human skull. I pick it up and say;

"This is old. It seems that something big took a bite out of the skull with huge teeth broke through the skull bone."

I think to myself, that must have been something big and powerful. I call out again;

"Steve, where are you man, answer me."

I hear something in the shadows. I quickly point my flashlight towards the dark areas to see if I can see what is going on. But still, I can not see deep enough to make out what is going on. Then something falls to my right side. I quickly point the flashlight there, but again I see nothing. I think to myself that it must only be a rock.

I can hear the wind blowing and the storm outside in the background. I continue walking deeper into the cave. As I follow the cave, it leads me to a split. One section of the cave goes to the right and the other to the left. I point the flashlight to one side and then to the other as I want to see deeper what is going on in them, but it does not help. I decide to go down the right side. As I walk in, I start to get a faint odor coming from the inside of the cave. I hear something, some sound that I have never heard before. I start walking backward while lighting around me. I can not help but feel like I am losing it and starting to feel uncomfortable. But where is Steve? Why does he not answer me back? As I walk backward, someone grabs my mouth to stop me from screaming and says softly in my ear;

"Get everyone out of this cave...now!"

He lets my mount go and says;

"Did you hear what I said...get everyone out of this cave now"

I turn and see that it is Steve. I am so happy to see him and say;

"Steve, where the hell have you been? I have been looking for you everywhere."

He looks around and says;

"Shut up. There is something in this cave with us, something big."

He points to his leg and says;

"As I was looking for wood, it grabbed me and pulled me in. That is when I dropped my flashlight. No animal that I know of has such big teeth. You need to leave this cave."

"We can not leave this cave. There is still a storm outside? Come with me. I will help you back to the others, and we can then decide where to go after we have patched up your leg."

Steve gets angry and says;

"Do you really want to die here? I said, get out now."

We then hear something in the shadows. Steve pushes me behind him and says;

"Whatever it is, it is now hunting us. Sir, get out, get everyone out now."

I hand the flashlight to Steve, he says;

"I do not need it. Take my backpack and get out of this cave."

As I walk backward, I hear sounds behind me. I am not sure what I am hearing. The moment that I can not see Steve anymore, I hear Steve screaming. It is a scream that I have never heard from a man before in my life. Two gunshots go off, then a third. Then Steve screams again, but this time he tells me;

"Run, get out of..." Suddenly his voice mumbles and a gunshot goes off. Then utter silence falls in the cave. He did not get to finish his sentence as his voice goes silent. I run to the others as quickly as I can. As I get to them, they have stood up looking, at what is going on. I run to them and scream;

"Get your stuff...we need to leave this cave."

One of the other security asks;

"Where is Steve"

"Somewhere in the cave back there."

He grabs my shirt and says;

"We got to go and find him."

I rip his hands off my shirt and says;

"I saw the gash on his leg, and it was massive. I also saw a human skull in the cave. The teeth of whatever is in there are almost dinosaur-like teeth. I tell you now that if you go back in there, you are not coming out. Steve gave his life so that I can get back here to give you his message. It was to get out of here and do not go and look for him."

I put my backpack on, looking at the rest of the group standing around. I say to them;

"You all can choose to stay, but I am not staying here to die. I am taking my chances out in the storm."

I pick up Steve's backpack and start walking out towards the entrance of the cave. I see the wind, and the rain is not coming down so hard anymore. One of the geologists says;

"Hold on, Dr. Andrews. We are coming with you!"

As I turn around to look, everyone has formed a line behind me. I say

"Okay, everyone. Stay close to one another, watch each other's backs."

We start walking out into the storm again. The wind is still blowing strongly, and the rain is as cold as ice. We start our descent of the mountain. After a few hours of hiking in the wind and the rain, we get to the river. I take out the map and the flashlight. Everyone stands around me, looking at the map. I say;

"We are here now, we need to get to the top of that hill, and we will be able to see the dig site. We are almost there." I point to the hill.

Everyone cheers, and I say;

"Let us keep on moving. Steve said that we need to get to the dig site as soon as we can."

As we get to the top of the hill, we see the lights of the machines in the distance. I look at everyone with happiness coming out of my every being and say;

"See everyone. We have arrived!"
