“They all say it like it’s easy. I’m sure you don’t believe a word he said. This world is cruel, everyone wants to use you, make a fool out of you, and play with your emotions. Everyone but me, I face facts and tell you the truth just like I told you that Amanda was mad.” Penelope said.

“What are you doing here? I thought you left already.” Gordon said.

“Well, I figured you needed a friend, a true friend. A friend who is willing to listen to you, to hear you vent, to listen to your feelings and thoughts rather than impose things on you. I could be the friend if you want.” Penelope said.

Gordon was tempted by the gesture, but Penelope was right. All everyone has been saying to him is to ignore how he feels and do what they feel is right, even his friend, Gabriel who was supposed to listen didn’t. Instead, he came to make him feel bad for doing to Amanda what he felt she deserved.
