“I’ll take care of Minx for you, I hope you keep in touch.” Seth said.

“Thanks, dad. I’ll definitely keep in touch. Where’s mom?” Gabriel said as he looked around and did not see any sign of his mother anywhere.

“She is upstairs. She said she can’t bring herself to say goodbye.” Seth said.

“Oh mom, does she always have to be like this? She knew I would grow up one day, why didn’t she prepare?” Gabriel said.

“Shut up and get your ass upstairs and say goodbye to your mom.” Gordon said.

Gabriel reluctantly went upstairs to their quarters and saw his mother lying on the bed. He hoped she wasn't crying because he had no words of consolation for her, he too would miss her dearly but he would surely return during the holidays.

“Mom, why didn’t you come down to say goodbye to me?” Gabriel said as he sat on the bed and used his hands to clean the tears that dropped from her eyes. What he feared the most was upon him.
