(Doris' POV)
I laughed at the sight of him, looking at me in fear. "Please, Doris, don't do this to me. Tell them to back off," Liddell kept pleading as Mark and Erbort moved closer and cornered him.
"H-how... when did you get this much power all of a sudden? You were always weak." Liddell squeezed his brows in confusion and stuttered in fear.
I laughed again, looking at him cornered by Mark and Erbort in a humiliating position. His expression sent a pleasurable sensation within me. He felt so useless and unable to move.
"I know you are weak, you don't even possess a little power or control over anyone. You're just an orphan. How come you have these two strong werewolf fighters in your control doing your wishes?" He parted his lips and looked up at the two tall figures who would finish him off with just an order from me, and his face turned pale.
"It seems there are a lot of questions rambling in your head right now, Liddell..." I paused as I took a step closer. "Any more questions?" I smirked as I tilted my head to the side.
"Who are you guys?" He fixed his gaze on them. "Or should I say, what are you guys? Alphas? Betas? Omegas? What or who exactly are you guys for you to be this strong, pinning an Alpha like me?"
Mark and Erbort quickly glanced at each other and turned back to Liddell with a smirk on their faces, leaving him confused.
"You are probably from the same pack as hers," he concluded, looking lost at their reaction.
"What more do you want to know?" I took another step closer, nodding to Mark and Erbort, who released and allowed him to stand.
"Who sent you, Doris?"
"What?"
"Who are you working for?" Liddell looked at me like he was sure of what he asked. "Who are they? What is the name of the pack that sent you? You are a spy, Doris. I'm sure you are not alone in this..." He pointed at Mark and Erbort and continued, "They are also under them, right? They came here to help you get me, am I right?"
I looked at him in amusement and burst out laughing at his stupid allegations. Then, I turned to Mark and Erbort, who were also laughing, almost close to tears.
"You know, I really thought you were wise," Mark stopped laughing and folded his arms on his chest.
"You want to know who we are... huh?" Mark moved and stood facing Liddell. "We only reveal ourselves to those who are good enough. And clearly, from what I've seen, you are not good enough, 'Alpha' Liddell." He quoted using his fingers and grinned widely, mocking him.
Liddell, in his defense, attempted to speak, but Mark was quick to land a few punches on his face, making him fall to the ground.
Mark and Erbort dragged him up to his feet, tying him up immediately.
"What do you intend to do next?" Erbort asked me, waiting for my orders.
I moved closer to Liddell and stood in front of him; his face was bent facing the ground. I thought of what to do as I looked at the man who enslaved, insulted, and taunted me for a year.
"This useless bastard actually had his ways with me for a year!" I mumbled, under my breath, my glare making him flinch back while he gritted his teeth, and growled, trying to boast like a little puppy.
I played my fingers on my lips while glancing at him when the previous memories flooded into my mind.

"You ungrateful weakling! You should be thankful to me for seeing you and picking up your lifeless body," Liddell barked, following me into the kitchen as I walked out on him, refusing to do his humiliating orders. I was fed up with his unending taunts. "How dare you walk out on me while I'm still talking to you?" He hastened his steps towards me and pulled me back forcefully from my shoulder.
"Look here, Doris! You are forever indebted to me, so you should learn how to always obey my orders. Do you know how worthless you were and still are? Have you forgotten I took you out of a dying state?" I gulped at his words, looking down to avoid his boiling gaze. I had to remain strong, to prove to him that I'm not a weakling.
"Hey! Look here, I'm talking to you..." He paused, lifted my chin with his fingers, and continued. "You will respect me and every other member of this pack. They're stronger and better than you, and you know why? Because you are just a weak Omega no one knows."

I sneered, a wicked smirk displaying on my face wide when I turned toward Mark and Erbort.
"Sofia. Bring her in here from the next room," Erbort nodded at my orders and went out to get Sofia.
"Leave me alone, you bastard! Get your filthy hands off me, you idiot! Motherfucker!" Dressed in a hospital gown, Sofia snarled, hurling insults at Erbort as he dragged her through the doorway and into the ward.
"Wait till Liddell comes here and... babe!" She screamed immediately as she turned her view to meet Liddell tied up.
"Babe!" Tears began streaming down her eyes as she ran towards Liddell. "Are you okay? I'm sorry... What happened? Who are they, and what are they doing?" She ran toward him, cupped his face in her palms, and rubbed his cheeks.
"Stop crying, babe. You shouldn't be sorry for anything. I'm fine; I did nothing wrong. I don't know why I'm tied up here, but you don't have to worry too much..." He paused, staring intently at Sofia, then continued. "You know I don't like seeing you cry; please wipe off your tears."
I stood angrily at a spot, listening to their lovey-dovey conversation when my wolf growled in my head.
"Cut it off, you two!"
They turned in unison and looked in my direction with scorned looks.
I returned their looks with a smirk on my face and placed a finger on my chin. "I've been thinking, Liddell... you definitely made a mistake bringing me back, don't you think so?"
"I never said so, and I don't think so. Don't take what I said in your heart, Doris," Liddell spoke, seemingly soft.
"Hmm!"
"Doris, please do not hurt Sofia. Keep her out of whatever it is that you have in mind to do. I'm sure that I'm the one you have a problem with, so please let her be," Liddell pleaded, looking at Sofia, then back at me.
"It's always the women for you, isn't it? You really can never look past the women around you..." I paused and laughed mockingly at him. "First it was me, and now Sofia. Who knows what you will likely turn her into in the nearest future, just like you did to your so-called wife."
I moved towards him and pulled a poor-looking, tired, and stressed-out Sofia out of his embrace. She jolted and moved to my side.
"Hey! Hey! Doris! Don't you dare hurt her!" Liddell yelled as Sofia was pulled out of his embrace into my side.
"Now you shut up!" I turned around and kicked Liddell hard, making him fall to his knees.
I bent my head to look at the indignant Alpha Liddell kneeling in front of me. Who would have thought something like this could happen?
"You should hear this, Liddell." I cleared my throat to be sure I was loud enough to say my next words. I stared directly into his already trembling eyes before I said, "I, Doris Albert, Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack, refuse to have you, Alpha Liddell of the Red Moon Pack as my mate."
(Doris' POV)It was silent for a few seconds after I had rejected and refused Liddell, digesting wholeheartedly the shock and despair lingering on his face."It's Doris, the Goddess of War. Doris has risen!" The doctor whom I had knocked out previously yelled out after hearing my words of rejection to an Alpha. He staggered to his feet and in fear, attempted to flee out of the ward, and perhaps out of the hospital to tell the world what he saw and witnessed."Forgive me, Warlord, for my previous actions. I do not wish to provoke you into anger." He bowed multiple times, trembling in fear, not waiting for my response as he made his way to the doorway to leave.I glanced at Mark, who had been watching him speak in cowardice, unlike a few moments ago when his voice sparked bravely and commanded control over an assumed weak Omega, clenching his fists in annoyance, ready to pounce on him."And where do you think you are going?" Mark pulled the doctor back with a heavy, jaw-breaking punch,
(Doris' POV)Mark and Erbort followed my orders, and continued to draw Liddell's blood, enough to donate this blood to five persons and was already getting injected into Sofia. She was taken to the other ward away from Liddell and was looking all feeble and fragile."Doris! Have you gone mad? How dare you do this?!" Sofia, who had been lying weakly on the bed, shot up with a glare. "Liddell's uncle will soon find out what has happened here! You must be ignorant of his abilities to be so foolish as to act against us like this!"I raised my brows in wonders, watching her sudden drama. Was she not meant to be weak or ill? Was this a normal behavior for someone who's considered ill? Where did she gain the strength to scream? It seems they simply want to toy with Philly! These two venomous snakes!"Is anyone there? I need help!" she screamed, struggling to free her hands tied to the bedstand. "Help! Someone should get me out of here, someone should get me away from this woman!" She kept sh
(Doris' POV)"Let them be!" Gilbert stood facing me with a scowl on his face. "Let Liddell and Sofia go or you wouldn't like what will happen here.""And what will happen if I don't? Because clearly I won't," I sneered at him.Clearly, I could sense his intention of killing me. His fists transformed into fangs. As I looked at Liddell, who was filled with hope, a new idea sparked within me.My gaze returned to Gilbert's face. "If I may ask..." I raised an eyebrow and stared at him, "do you want to be the Alpha?" Gilbert's abilities far surpassed Liddell's, but he had never become an Alpha himself. There had to be a significant reason behind it!His face darkened immediately. I glanced at Liddell on the bed and back to him who was also looking at Liddell. He had also seen what I noticed. Liddell's expression had changed.Liddell had heard me clearly and now looked at Gilbert with distrust in his eyes.Gilbert suddenly grew even angrier, swiftly extending his claws towards me, but I dodg
(Gilbert' POV)The Wolf Pack Elders CouncilDefinitely them, I thought. The Wolf Pack Elders Council will be able to solve this. Doris is now a member of the Red Moon Wolf Pack. She has to obey the rules of the Wolf Pack and cannot kill any member of the pack.If she tries it, she will definitely be punished by the Elders council. They are the head of and above all Wolf Packs so they need to obey, Doris is definitely not an exception since she is a member of the Wolf Pack. The Elder council is also known for their responsibility in the inheritance ceremony of an Alpha and a Luna in a wolf pack. They can even sometimes have a say in the dismissal of a wolf pack Alpha. The Elder Council follows the instructions of the Moon Goddess given them. They predict troubles too. The Elder Council predicts a crisis in a wolf pack and goes to where the wolf pack may be to assist the Alpha stuck in such a crisis. There is a wolf pack here and there's a crisis. Liddell is down, so am I and the other
(Doris' POV)"It's you! Doris Albert." Mawson called out in recognition and excitement all over his face. "I knew you looked familiar. This is really you Doris, the Goddess of War!" He exclaimed.I stood gazing at him with a smile on my face as I watched him. He looked happy and excited to see me. "I thought you wouldn't recognize your benefactor.""I searched and searched everywhere I could think of for traces you during the year you disappeared. I wanted to see the Goddess of War again but it was hard for me since you were always masked." He spoke like one who had longed for this day. "No one knew what you looked like under the mask which also made it difficult for you to be found."Mawson couldn't hide his joy as they were written all over his. "I led people to the Red Moon Wolf Pack when I got some information, but that was the last I had about you. I had to rush down here immediately when I heard there was a riot in the hospital."He couldn't stop getting words out of his mouth a
(Doris' POV)Gilbert panicked and stood up slowly like there was nothing to hide any longer. "We killed him."He looked around the ward and saw the eyes that were fixed at him. He bowed his head as he began to confess. "I betrayed my brother, the then Alpha, when I began my affair with his wife Mara. He had found out about our affair but we were scared that he'd expose us, so we plotted with him. We killed him later on but covered it up and made it look like he died of a sudden illness."He paused and looked around again before he continued. "After I helped Liddell to become the Alpha, Mara and I continued to enjoy our affair. I silenced everyone who knew about it for various reasons. But now that you have discovered the truth, I really don't know how to deal with it."My lips curved into an evil smile after I had succeeded in confirming the truth. "You have only but one choice Gilbert.""What could that be, Doris?" He asked in confusion."You would disclose to the wolf pack about you
(Doris' POV)I left the Red Moon Wolf Pack after the meeting and was on my way back to the stronghold. I stopped immediately as I felt connected and linked to someone.I closed my eyes to concentrate and received a mind-link from Erbort. He informed me that they had found the treasure, the goddess's scepter. The goddess's scepter was a treasure. It had been rumored that a werewolf recognized by the scepter will receive a powerful increase in strength and will become the king of all werewolves. There was a rumor spread last year by someone that Doris, the Goddess of War, which was me, was looking for the scepter. That was true! Ever since I made an agreement with the Moon Goddess, my powers have been weakened. In order to surpass the current power ranks, I had to rely on the scepter! But it wasn't just for myself. As the Moon Goddess informed me, I had a greater task at hand. I had to ensure that werewolves from all packs reached a peace agreement, or else they would perish due to infi
(Alpha Jason's POV)"Is this where you are meant to be?" It seemed like my pack members do not know what this means for them to be wandering around in confusion even after my orders. I had ordered them to prepare to meet an important guest.I felt honored to be hosting the agent of the Goddess of War who was also the Alpha heir to one the most respected and important wolf pack, the Flame Wolf Pack. This would be of many important benefits to me."Quick! Prepare the table!" I ordered some of the pack members in charge of the kitchen."You!" I pointed at a member."Yes Sir Jason." He replied with a bow."Hurry! Bring out our best table clothes we have in this pack house. Only the best deserve the best." I was hosting the agent of the Goddess of War, so he deserves the best. Who knows what he has for me?"Yes Alpha." He sprang out immediately."You over there!" I turned towards a member who stood doing nothing. "Do you even have any idea of who will be visiting?" I asked sarcastically. H
(Doris' POV)The next morning, I groggily opened my eyes. The day was fast spent, yet I was just waking up.I stretched my hand to the other side of the bed with my eyes still sleepy and half opened, but couldn't feel Xavier. I quickly opened my eyes and realized he wasn't on the bed with me and sat up.Suddenly, the door opened, gasping my attention. And there he was, holding a tray of meal, approaching the bed.“Good morning, sunshine.” He said in a sing-song tone, placed the tray on the bed and kissed me on the forehead.“Good morning to you too. What a pleasant surprise,” I smiled and sniffed in the aroma of the meal.I shut my eyes slightly for a minute and was mesmerized by it.“This better be nice.” I said and proceeded to take a bite.“How is it?” He asked when I chewed halfway, but my face turned into a frown and glared coldly at him.“Did you make this yourself?”“Yes, why? What's wrong?” He queried in a low tone, his eyes darting from the meal back to me.“It's amazing!” I
(Doris' POV)“Does the elders have anything to say to what the future King had said?” I asked in a low and threatening growl. They all shook their heads.“We are fine with whomever the King has chosen.” The leader said with his head slightly bowed toward Xavier. The others too did the same, except Barron, who stormed out of the conference room in anger. I waved at the Reapers to let him go while I laughed to my heart's content.“I'm sorry I couldn't meet you at the borderline.” Xavier turned to me and said after Barron left.“It's fine, I know you also have duties to attend to.” A smile spread on my face.“We would take our leave then.” One of the elders said, and they exited the room.“We should go home too,” I said to Xavier with my arms wrapped around his neck.He gently placed his hand on my waist and responded, “Sure.”I turned to the Reapers, who were still waiting for my instruction.“You all should rest, too. We all deserve it.” I said, my voice filled with pride of how we fou
(Xavier's POV)“I don't care what any of you says, I'm the elder son and the legitimate son of the late King, that throne is mine.” Barron seethed his teeth and thudded his fist against the table as he spoke.“We set the rules here in the absence of a King, which means we have the authority to make any decisions of our choice at this moment.” One of the elders protested in a calm voice. My heart kept pounding fast, and I had no idea what to do. This is a position I'm not worthy of.“Give the throne to Barron.......” I started, and all eyes fell on me, surprised. “I'm not worthy of the throne. Barron should be the 9ne to sit on it, not me.” I said, with my gaze lowered to the floor.“Good thing you know your place.” Barron snapped at me and I plucked up my chin to look at him.Seeing the hatred he had for me broke me heart more.“That won't be possible, Xavier. Even if you were dead or not the King's son, Barron would still have no place in the Palace. You were born to rule, and you ha
(Xavier's POV)Barron and I sat in the conference room, waiting for the elders. They had set up the meeting for us, to pick a new King.My heart pounded faster in my mind, thinking about everything. I wondered what kind of King I would become if I got chosen, and also how I would feel if I didn't get chosen. They were running late, but I understood the Pack was going through a rough time at the moment, which could be the cause. Barron kept glaring at me through the corner of his eyes, he had always hated.Maybe because I was an illegitimate son, but I won't be too bothered if I were him. That alone was a great disadvantage for me.After some more minutes of waiting, the door opened and the elders walked in one after the other. We both rose to our feet and bowed to greet them.“You may both have your seat,” the leader of the elders said after they had all settled down.“Thanks,” I mumbled and sat down.“I'm sure you both know the purpose of this meeting.” He started.“Can we then get t
(Doris' POV)My eyes welled for a reason I couldn't tell; whether about the King's death or the First Elder's death, I just couldn't place it.The First Elder must have blamed the King too for the death of Snake and killed me, while I trusted him with the King to be in safe hands. I wanted to come back to the Pack victorious and settle all grudges, but now, they are both dead.Case closed!Murmurs among the elders filled the air, I excused myself from them and exited the Palace. In front of the Palace, there stood the Reapers, some warriors, the two warriors who carried the First Elder's body and some curious Pack members who shot cold glares at me as I stepped out. They were scared to speak, but I could almost read their minds through their faces, it was so sad and bitter. I know they wanted to question me about the First Elder, but none of them dare say a word.“Carry the body, let's go.” I said to the warriors and turned to leave when a female voice stopped me.“The King?” She aske
(Doris' POV)“You should have never done it. All Snake had was you.”“And he was a sacrifice meant to be made, how could I not do it?” His voice dropped to almost a whisper, remorse crept in.My face softened and I halted, watching his moves. Who can tell, it might be another one of his numerous tricks to get new off my guard.“You have done too much evil already, why would you want me dead too?”“You have the guts to ask me that? Snake died because he was your follower, what more would bring me joy than your corpse?” He snapped, enraged and ready to strike again. He's right about that, Snake might still be alive if he wasn't serving me. Maybe some of them really died because of me, and it's all my fault, but I won't let them die in vain. I'll seek the justice that their souls deserve.I eased myself from the defense stance and looked at the First Elder. Even with being a Divine Wolf, he's still a piece of cake to me.And though I wanted justice for all he had harmed, a part of me sti
(Doris' POV)My lips twitched with rage. How dare he lie to me, paint people evil to me, so I could get to trust him while he was the evil himself?I halted in front of him and crouched, lifting his head to meet my eyes.“Forgive, you say?” A scoff traveled through my lips and I rose to my feet.“Why did you do it? Why did you make me trust so much in you and turned out to be the evil I was up against?” I asked in a hushed tone, almost couldn't believe he could do such a thing to me.I had always seen him as a noble and honest man who wanted justice for those the King had wrong. Only God knows how many crimes he had committed that I knew nothing about.“I'm sorry, please forgive me.” He said out loud, bowing his head again.I beat my feet on the ground, filled with rage for the nonchalant apologies he was tendering. None of his apologies would bring back those who had died.None of his
(Doris' POV)My eyes met with the strongest vampire King and my lips twitched. Though he tried to mask his fears, it was still written over his face.He must be wondering how we got through Reya and the other Purebred vampires, but nobody dare mess with the Goddess of War, I'll always be available to give them their responses.“How dare you look me in the eyes?” He growled as if to threaten me, but I stood firm.“I can look you in the eyes because I can....... We all can.” My arms spread out, referring to my warriors and the Reapers. His face went red with anger.“How dare you?” He cussed and turned to one of his men. “Where the heck is Reya?” He asked, whispering.“There would be no need for that,” I butted in abruptly, and he looked at me with his left brow raised at my remark. “She would be food for the earth in no time.” I concluded and smirked. He unde
(Xavier's POV)Seated in front of aunt Jane's house, my mind drifted to Doris. It's been days after she left, and I couldn't help it but miss her like hell, I would give anything to hold her in my arm sooner.I know the battle would be fierce, but I hope she would be rest assured that her family would be safe with me.Felix, Doris brother, walked to the front of the house and sat beside me on the swing chair.“What are you doing out here? You should be inside, resting.” I said to him, and let glared coldly at me for a few seconds. Why would he do that when all I've done since Doris left was to make them comfortable? Perhaps I had done something I had no idea about.“Did I do something wrong? What's up with the glare?” I asked in a shushed tone, my heart pounding faster.“I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do that.” He briskly apologized, bowing his head.“It's fine, it's nothing to be apologetic about.”My lips curled with a smile and my heart was proud of what I've done.On several occasion
