I hope you enjoyed this chapter. It's a little long, but I just couldn't find a good stopping point. I would love to read your comments.
Sebastian and I went to the pack hospital and found my Grandma Gabi’s office. I knocked on the door and peeked my head in, “Do you have a few minutes to talk?” Grandma smiled, “Of course. Come on in and have a seat.” Sebastian followed me in and grandma smiled, “It’s good to see you again, Sebastian.” He nodded respectfully and replied, “Likewise. I’m happy to see you too.” Grandma asked, “How’s your mom?” I sighed, “She’s the reason I’m here. She been back on solid food now for two weeks and I’ve been making sure she’s eating healthy meals. She’s still improving, but she still needs naps a couple times a day. She doesn’t have much energy. Do you think the anti-rejection meds could be the problem? I mean, shifters don’t normally take human meds.” Grandma sighed, “I was wondering if they would work.” I suggested, “I asked Aidinth if we could try dragon blood. He said that if she drinks dragon blood every four hours, it should transform the new kidney to make the biology of it exactly th
Sebastian and I spent the rest of the day at my grandparents’ house, watching over mom. With each time she drank dragon blood, she looked more like her previous self and stronger. At two a.m., Grandma Gabi drew another sample of mom’s blood and smiled as she walked out of the house, “This should be the last time. The last blood draw looked really close to the way it should. Just in case, when you wake up this morning, don’t take your anti-rejection meds. The blood work will tell us if they are still needed.” Mom nodded in agreement, then turned over and went to sleep after yawning, “Thanks, grandma. Goodnight.” I chuckled as I walked Grandma Gabi and Grandpa Cade out of the house. I nodded to their guards and she walked away. The next morning, I woke up to arms wrapped around my waist. When I tried to get out of bed, the tension of the hold on my waist strengthened. I sighed, “I need to go to the bathroom, love.” He groaned, “But you’re so comfortable.” I chuckled, “Would you please l
Queen Lori and I went to grandma’s house and found that all the guys were gone and the stylists and makeup artists were setting up their chairs and workstations. I went to the kitchen first and got a bottle of water. I found mom and asked, “Have you heard from Grandma Gabi?” Mom smiled the biggest smile I’ve seen on her face in a long time, “The labs came back perfect. No more anti-rejection meds. I feel great. Baby girl, thank you for talking to Aidinth about the dragon blood idea. I never even thought of it.” I smiled as I hugged her tightly, “I’m so glad it worked. We need to make sure we keep a close eye on the labs to make sure they stay that way, but I don’t think they would go back to the way they were. That’s not how dragon blood works.” Mom agreed, “I think you’re right, but we probably should have it checked quarterly, at least… to begin with.” When the stations were set up, we all changed into robes, sat down and waited for our turns to get our makeup and hair done. Mom sat
In my drugged haze, I heard Victor yell, “Shit! What the fuck did you do, my queen? How the hell am I supposed to get you out of there?” I heard Hugo and Bruno shuffle away from me, leaving me with their friends. Bruno launched his body at Victor, mouth wide open, while Hugo roared loud enough to shake the ground. Victor screamed like a girl as Hugo bit down on his leg and commenced with the death roll as weregator warriors came to cuff him and take him to the dungeons. I heard King Mateo chuckle, “Good job, boys. I’m very proud of you.” I felt my head lower to the ground as the alligator that was under it moved away and I started wondering why I could hear everything around me, but I hadn’t blacked out yet. Then I heard mom step beside me, “Baby girl, I know you can hear me. You were given a paralytic. It’s not meant to knock you out. We have Victor locked up in the dungeon while we wait for you and Sebastian to come out of it.” I felt someone carry me into the pack house and lay me
Selene waited until we were all seated and sighed, “Okay. Here is my plan for Sebastian and Adele. I did try to guide Victor to be a good king. He was more concerned with being the first to get his mate as well as having the best mate of all of his siblings. Little did he know that his mate would have been perfect, no matter her abilities. She would have been perfect in his eyes. He just didn’t want to wait for her. He also didn’t want to believe that Sebastian found his destined mate before he was given one. So, the only option now is to remove him permanently. He will not step down and accept it. King Quincy and Queen Lori, you will need to strip Victor of his title and then you will name Sebastian as the successor to the throne. Only then will Sebastian be able to kill Victor and be accepted by the kingdom. Your kingdom will be able to feel the bond with Victor break and they will feel the bond with Sebastian grow stronger.” I added, “When we get home, we will plan our wedding and
After showering and changing clothes, we went to Grandma Izzy’s for a visit. When we knocked on the door, Grandpa answered, “Hey sweetie! Hey Sebastian! It’s really good to see you again.” I hugged him, “Hey grandpa! How are you feeling?” He smiled, “We are both doing great. How are you? I heard you had a pretty rough night, last night.” I rolled my eyes, “Yeah. It was pretty rough, but Hugo and Bruno saved me.” Sebastian smiled, “And, by extension, me. Because she is my life.” I smiled, “You’re so sweet,” as I wrapped my arms around his waist from the side. Grandma smiled, “You two look so in love. Have you decided on a date for the wedding yet?” I replied, “Not yet, but it may have to be sooner than expected. Sebastian was named successor to the throne of the Southern Werecat Kingdom. I don’t know when his dad will be stepping down yet.” Sebastian shrugged, "No clue. We haven’t really discussed any of that. We haven’t had time to talk about it, to be honest.” We all sat down in the
Mom and Grandma Abby were pleased with that idea, but my mom looked a bit concerned. I asked, “You’re worried about whether my dress can get done in such a short time. Aren’t you?” Mom nodded, “You know me so well.” I laughed, “I do. I have decided that I’m going to see what she has in her original designs first. She always has amazing designs already made. Hopefully, she will have one in a wedding dress.” Mom agreed, “I know she had some wedding dresses done the other day. We’ll just have to see if she still has some on the racks.” I nodded, “That’s what I was thinking.” After the meeting was done, we went back to Grandma Abby’s house first to grab our stuff, then to Grandma Izzy’s house to teleport home with her and grandpa. When we got home, I laughed as grandma walked straight to the kitchen to see what we had for ingredients, “I see we have everything we need for a meatloaf dinner tonight. Would that be okay with you?” I smiled as I nodded, “Of course. Anything you cook is amazin
After Sarah checked the fit, she smiled, “This is so you. I know you like simple everything, and I knew if you saw this one, it would be perfect. I have the perfect veil too.” She left the room and Queen Lori found her voice, “Sebastian is going to love that dress. It’s simple, but gorgeous. You two are perfect for each other.” I smiled, “Thank you.” Sarah returned with a veil that was very simple with only small, embroidered flowers edging the bottom of it and small hair combs to attach it into my hair. I smiled as a tear fell from my eye, “This is perfect.” Sarah smiled, “I knew this design would be perfect.” She also brought out a silk gown in pale pink. It was a backless maxi dress that had slits going up each side all the way up to my hips. I smiled as I stepped up onto the platform, “I really love this dress.” Mom agreed, “That is perfect. It’s making your blue eyes glow.” Queen Lori smiled, “True. In a dimly lit room, it could look like you aren’t wearing anything.” I laughed,
