Looks like Victor is getting it from all sides. Will it change him or make him bitter? I would love to read your comments.
When dinner was ready, Sebastian, Vito and Vance helped take the food to the table while Kelly and Katie set the table. Mom had already called for Renee and Emily to get dressed for dinner over the loudspeaker, scaring the life out of Renee and making Emily laugh. Sebastian sent a mind link to Robert and Ryan to get ready for dinner and Lizzy walked out with them. When everyone sat down at the table, Sebastian smiled, “Mmm homemade dinner rolls. I’ve been eyeing them since you had them out to rise.” I laughed, “I hope they live up to your expectations.” Dad smiled, “I’ve been looking forward to this lamb roast.’ As the dishes were passed around, I could see mom looking sullen. I leaned into her and whispered, “I will make you a feast tomorrow, mom. I promise. All you have to do is tell me what you want.” Mom smiled, “I think the kabobs idea would be great. Maybe a Greek cucumber and tomato salad with it and some couscous.” I smiled, “That does sound really good. I was going to make som
Victor POV I knew I was in trouble the moment I laid eyes on her for the first time. How my younger, no good, brother got paired with her is beyond me. She is everything a kingdom of any species needs. She deserves to be with a king, not a prince who has no chance of reaching the throne. She has everything. She’s drop-dead beautiful… beautiful enough to disable a king with her mere presence. The woman would not be easy to take for my own either. Not only does she have my brother and three of her own brothers protecting her, but she’s a force to be reckoned with on her own. All this was not all she is good at. She could’ve been my private cook on top of everything. She could’ve served me in every way. I overstepped my boundaries at dinner by suggesting that she hadn’t suffered enough. To be honest, I had no clue what all she had been through, but she had too much confidence to have been too horribly abused. When she challenged me, I had no choice but to accept. I could not be beaten b
Adele POV I knew what Sebastian was doing when he joined his brothers in the pool. That was fine with me. As long as my mate is keeping an eye on Victor, he won’t try anything with me. Katie and Kelly swam to me as Kelly giggled, “Lady, you know you are going to make your mate suffer in that teeny bikini. You look stunning in everything you wear.” I smiled, “Thank you. You ladies look beautiful too.” Katie asked, “Do you think Sebastian is going to be able to get Victor to back off?” I shrugged, “If he doesn’t, we will have to visit each other here. I can’t risk being in your kingdom.” She sighed, “We already told him that if he doesn’t give it up, he will be doing it alone and he will be scum in our eyes. Vance told him that the guys would choose you over him if it came to that.” Kelly added, “And we know mom and dad would strip him of his title if he tried this. He’s making his intentions very apparent and we are not liking it.” Katie sighed, “We have already talked to our parents a
I woke up the next morning and got ready for the day. I took my shower, put on a pair of faded boot-cut jeans, a t-shirt and a pair of tennis shoes. I immediately went to the kitchen and started breakfast. I mixed the biscuit dough and rolled it out on the island. I cut them out and put them on a sheet pan while the oven preheated. I started cooking the sausage in one pan and the bacon in another. While they cooked, I poured a cup of coffee and just stood there and took my first sip before removing the sausage and starting the gravy. By the time I was finished with breakfast, everyone was up and Sebastian’s sisters were setting the table while he and his brothers were getting the coffee, juice and milk to put on the table. Sebastian grabbed the butter dish and three different kinds of jelly to take them to the table. They helped me put all the food on the table and we all sat down. I sat down by mom and asked, “Ready for your first day of solid food? I already have the skewers soakin
Sebastian POV As soon as the ladies left, I pulled Victor into my room, “Okay, what is going on with you? One day, you are challenging my mate and trying to get her away from me, then you are quiet the next day. What’s going on with you? What happened?” Victor paled, “While we were in the pool, Odell kept telling me to leave her alone or he would beg the goddess to take me away from him. You know you’re doing the wrong thing when your tiger begs to be taken away from you. After I got out of the pool, I went to my room. I was looking at the alliance agreement that dad signed and I realized that if I kept it up, I would be risking having almost every species coming down on our kingdom. Then I had a visitor. I don’t think it was a dream, but I just feel like I’m losing my mind.” I asked, “Who was the visitor?” He replied, “The Moon Goddess.” I asked, “What did she tell you?” He replied, “She told me that if I continued, she would not only take Odell from me, but she would call in the all
Adele POV When we got home, Quinn, Sam and Grace laughed at the sight in front of us, while I just sat there shaking my head at the sight of my mate doing all kinds of gymnastics moves on the trampoline with my brothers and his brothers. We all got out of the vehicles and we reunited with our mates. Sebastian chuckled, “Did you have a good time?” I nodded, “We did. It sure looks like you guys had a good time.” He laughed, “We did. We also agreed that you and I should take some time just for us.” I smiled, “We really haven’t had a lot of that since we met, have we?” He shook his head slowly, “We haven’t. I was hoping we could go for a ride soon.” I asked, “How about after lunch?” His eyes went wide, “Really? You would do that?” I laughed, “Of course. We’re just doing kabobs for supper. I can start marinating the meat before we go. We should have about 4 hours free before I need to start dinner. Unless you want to go for an evening ride. We could go after dinner. At least then we will h
It has now been a week since Sebastian’s siblings left to go home. Today, we are packing our stuff to spend a couple nights with Grandma Abby. Tomorrow is the ball and I am looking forward to it. I smiled, “I can’t wait to see Chloe again.” Sebastian added, “It will be good to visit with your Grandpa Damien again. I haven’t seen him since we ate at your Grandma Izzy’s.” I asked, “You like him a lot, don’t you?” He smiled, “I love your whole family. They are all good people.” I agreed, “They are. I’m pretty proud of my family.” We finished packing and went to mom and dad’s house where everyone was scattered around, packing and getting ready to leave. I found mom cleaning the kitchen, “Hey, how are you feeling?” She smiled, “I’m feeling really good.” I asked, “Have you taken your pills yet?” She nodded, “I hate that I have to take them, but I did.” I hugged her tightly, “I hate that you have to take them too, but I’m glad you are. I want you to be around longer. You need to help raise y
Sebastian and I went to the pack hospital and found my Grandma Gabi’s office. I knocked on the door and peeked my head in, “Do you have a few minutes to talk?” Grandma smiled, “Of course. Come on in and have a seat.” Sebastian followed me in and grandma smiled, “It’s good to see you again, Sebastian.” He nodded respectfully and replied, “Likewise. I’m happy to see you too.” Grandma asked, “How’s your mom?” I sighed, “She’s the reason I’m here. She been back on solid food now for two weeks and I’ve been making sure she’s eating healthy meals. She’s still improving, but she still needs naps a couple times a day. She doesn’t have much energy. Do you think the anti-rejection meds could be the problem? I mean, shifters don’t normally take human meds.” Grandma sighed, “I was wondering if they would work.” I suggested, “I asked Aidinth if we could try dragon blood. He said that if she drinks dragon blood every four hours, it should transform the new kidney to make the biology of it exactly th
My quadruplets are five years old now and we have added five more children to the family since then. We had a set of triplets when the quad was two, and then a set of twins last year. To say I have been busy would be an understatement. My triplets, Eddie, Cade and Damien are quite the handful. I’ve tried to get Sebastian to intervene, but he just says, “They’re just boys.” My twins, Allie, short for Allison, and Emma turned one today. We had a huge playground installed at the castle and our kids just love it. We are giving all the kids in our children’s age groups the day off from training so we can celebrate the twins’ birthday. As we watched all the kids play, Joshua asked, “Mom, does the quad have to be here?” I laughed because all the kids in our quad are way more intelligent and mature than they should be. By the time they were three all four of them knew how to read and were highly skilled on the computer. I sighed, “But don’t you want to wish the twins a happy birthday?” He ga
Sebastian and I have been officially on the throne for three months and I am now miserably pregnant. My belly is absolutely huge and Sebastian loves watching me waddle everywhere I walk. I, on the other hand, seem to be nesting. I got all of the blankets for our little ones crocheted and I have been doing a lot of extra cleaning lately. I was cleaning the bathroom when Sebastian reminded me, “Babe, we have staff that do that. You don’t need to. If you want to do something for the babies, why don’t you crochet some more stuff. You could make little booties or hats for them. I smiled, “I think you’re right. Thank you.” I grabbed some yarn and a hook and sat down on the couch. I got up almost immediately and started walking away. Sebastian asked, “What’s wrong?” I sighed, “I have to pee… again.” He chuckled, “It’s almost over, babe.” I smiled, “I know.” I got to the bathroom and felt a gush of water. I knew I hadn’t peed, then looked down at the puddle under my feet. I walked back to the
When Sebastian and I got to the hall entrance the doors were closed and they were waiting for everyone to take their places. While we waited, I looked around us. There was a man behind Sebastian who was highlighted in red. With one hand, I conjured a dagger of ice. Just as he was raising is hand with a dagger of his own, I threw my dagger at him and it pierced his eye and went into his brain. He instantly fell backward, dead. Sebastian looked at me, surprised, “Was it a highlighted one?” I chuckled, “He was literally seconds from plunging a dagger into your back. I’m just glad I saw him.” He smiled, “I’m glad you did too.” Just then, the doors opened and we locked arms. I guess I was gripping his arm a little tighter than I meant to because he mumbled, “You are cutting off the circulation to my hand, love. Relax.” I chuckled as I loosened my grip on his arm, “Sorry, babe.” He chuckled, “No problem.” When we got to the stage, we walked up the steps and stood in front of King Quincy and
I woke up the next morning with my first thought being, “Holy shit! Today is Coronation Day!” I didn’t even take a second to stretch before jumping out of bed and practically running to the bathroom to take a shower. After taking my shower, I went to our closet and put on a sundress until it was time to get ready for the event. I went to the kitchen and poured myself a cup of coffee and sat in my favorite chaise lounge chair by the windows. I hadn’t been there long when my mom walked in. She poured a cup of coffee for herself and sat at the other end of my chair looking out the windows, “Are these the same kind of windows we have?” I nodded, “Yep. I like the idea of me seeing out, but no one can see in.” Mom agreed, “I always liked that too. Are you ready for your crowning ceremony?” I smiled, “I am. I was nervous at first, but Queen Lori told me that I’ve been doing the duties of a queen since I got here.” Mom laughed, “Being a queen is no different than being a luna. You are the moth
We spent more time than we originally planned in town and we had so much fun. After more baby shopping, Sebastian took me to a bakery that also sold ice cream. I ordered a jelly donut and a scoop of cherry ice cream, while Sebastian went with the classic apple turnover with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I reveled in the taste of my sweet treat and Sebastian laughed at me. I shrugged, “What? It’s good.” I filled a fork full of it and held it to his lips. He took a bite and smiled, “I guess you’re right. I never thought of that combination.” I smiled, “Now, I just need to learn how to make jelly filled donuts. I already know how to make the regular ones.” His eyes went wide, “You know how to make donuts?” I laughed, “I do. Would you like those for breakfast tomorrow?” He replied, “Probably not tomorrow. We should eat in the dining room tomorrow morning with it being coronation day and all the guests we have coming.” I looked at my phone and gasped, “Guests! My family is probably at the c
I woke up this morning, stretching and enjoying the sunlight streaming into our room. We have been moved into our wing of the castle for almost a full week and I have been thoroughly enjoying being able to cook for my mate. Once in a while we invite his parents over for dinner, just to see how they like being out of the castle and to consult with them on small issues. I got out of bed and headed to our kitchen to grab a cup of coffee. I moved to the chaise lounge by the window and sat there, looking outside, while I drank my coffee to wake up for a bit. As I sat there, I had to think about everything that needed to be done today. It’s the day before our coronation, so my family will be here today. I’m so excited to see them. As busy as I have been, I still miss them. I finish my first cup of coffee and sigh as I get out of my chair. I went to the kitchen and started making the biscuits for breakfast. As soon as they were cut out, I started making the sausage and bacon. When the sausa
It has been a week since Yahir was captured. King Quincy had sentenced him to death after one week of taking fifty whip lashes daily. Today is the day he is put to death and I am looking forward to it. His mate’s parents were sitting in front of us and I placed one hand on the mother’s shoulder and my other hand on her father’s shoulder in a gesture of comfort. I released a small amount of my omega waves and they visibly relaxed. The mother smiled at me, “Thank you, princess.” I smiled, “You’re very welcome. This may get a little gross. Let me know if you need more.” She smiled, “Thank you.” Just minutes later, Yahir was brought out, his entire backside, including the backs of his legs, was covered in bloody slashes. He was led to a wall, his arms spread out and wrists cuffed to the wall. His ankles restrained to the wall with his shackles. King Quincy sat in his throne and one of the warriors stepped forward to face us, “We are here to witness the execution of Yahir for the charges o
When they landed, I noticed that their hands were all forced to stay straight at their sides. The man in front was a tall, slim, man with long brown hair and brown eyes. I noticed that his eyes looked sunken in and his complexion pale. The men behind him looked like death warmed over. They were all skinny, eyes sunken in, and pale complexions, so I knew something had happened to them that was making them waste away. Possibly a rejection. The man in front stood there with a smirk on his face, “So you figured out a way to find me. I have to tell you, though, this isn’t all of my army.” Queen Lori laughed, “The rest are probably in our dungeons.” Queen Winnie added, “Or they aren’t very committed to your cause.” Yahir responded, “No, they are just good at hiding.” I laughed, “I guess we will find out.” King Quincy had some warriors grab them, “Take them to the dungeons and guard Yahir diligently.” After the guards took them away, Queen Winnie raised her arms again and cast the spell agai
It has been two weeks since Crystal moved away and she couldn’t be happier. She called us the night after she moved to the new town and told us that Alpha Abel is her mate! They are taking their time, he wants to be sure she trusts him before they mark and mate each other. She has already started warrior training and is super happy with it. She and I are starting to become friends and I am so happy to see the confident woman she is becoming. The other woman who wanted to reject her mate, Katie, was able to do just that the following day. We were able to get her and her child new identities and moved them to another town that is thirty miles away. She was able to get a job as a bookkeeper for the pack and is very happy just concentrating on giving her daughter a better life. I am so happy for her each time we speak. Meanwhile, we have been watching the training classes and the great improvements each class has made. Now that we have a comfortable schedule for the women’s classes, I as
