The Great Escape (2)

D-Day.

I climbed the stairs. I put my hand on the wall of the earthen door that separated the basement from our rented house. It's been a long time since I've seen the moon at night, or the sun coming in. I thought I could endure all this, but apparently, I was wrong. I miss the warmth of the sun and the calm of the moon at night.

"What are you doing? Are you going out?” Dylan gave me a back hug. His rough lips brush against my cheek, and I love the sensation.

"Yeah. It's been a long time since I saw the moon. I miss her." I answered while hugging Dylan's waist.

"We're leaving in three hours, and when that time comes, you can see the moon all you want."

“Mhm, three more hours, huh? Are we… going to be okay?”

Dylan rubbed my head gently. Then carried me down the stairs.

We passed Pasha who was fast asleep on his little bed. Then we sat on the bed opposite Pasha.

Dylan studied the meaning of my eyes. Then he caressed my cheek gently as if he caught the anxiety that suddenly attacked me
