(Author's POV)Ruby impatiently paced her bedroom waiting for any news from the rogues. Her long silk nightgown trailed behind her as she continuously stared at her phone. Her long perfectly manicured nails with red nailpolish drummed the side of her phone. As the seconds ticked by her anxiousness grew. She could only hope that nothing would go wrong this time around. At midnight, her phone finally rang, and she quickly swiped at her phone's screen to receive the call, hoping for good news."Did you succeed?" She quickly asked."Succeed? She was a demon and we barely survived her attacks. Why didn't you tell us she was trained in combat? She has severely injured all my men; you better pay compensation for their medical," the leader of the rogues yelled back at her through the phone, leaving Ruby dumbfounded."You are lying," Ruby stated in exasperation, she couldn't believe Anna would be able to beat so many rogues while being injured and having to have lost her wolf."I am not lying,
(Anna)Asher's text left me more agitated and annoyed than I wished to admit. It said that the number was traced back to Ruby, and although she used an anonymous line, Asher's hacker was able to break through and trace her number. The fire of revenge burnt deep within me and it was slowly eating away my sanity. I had to pick up the pace or I would completely be lost in this revenge.I clearly understood Ruby's plan now, she wished to repeat what she had tried earlier at the Amusement Park and failed. She believed I got lucky last time but she clearly didn't understand that I had trained hard for five years to get where I was.Besides, Asher trusted me with his son and knew of Ruby's foul intentions. I was more than capable enough to protect Oliver. But it was time to turn the table on Ruby and take the battle to her. I was going to make her pay for all her wretched schemes and below-the-belt hits. After putting Oliver to bed, I changed into an all black form-fitting shirt and black le
(Author's POV)The days sluggishly were spent for Anna. Although she enjoyed her company with Oliver her mind remained occupied with Asher's thoughts. It had been days since he had contacted her, making her wonder how bad the situation was back at his pack.Did something happen? What could be keeping him so busy?In the loneliness of her nights, she couldn't help but miss his touch and rugged body. The way he had licked her wounds and made love to her. She craved more of that, to be in his arms once again. At times it became laborious to push away his thoughts and work through her day. He was constantly on her mind like a lingering shadow.Oliver wished to play Monopoly, so both of them got out of the board and got started. Just as Anna was about to take her turn, her phone chimed.Checking the message, she found it to be from Claude. It read:[Hi An,I am going to be visiting Howler City on some important business and I was wondering if I could stay with you for the time I am there.
(Author's POV)The greater demon was sealed by the moon goddess centuries ago using a moonstone. It was later subdivided into 12 moonstones and handed over to the Alphas of the packs for safekeeping. Since moonstones had tremendous powers, they could enhance the abilities of a werewolf, or they could break the seal of a demon and set it free, they were kept hidden in safe places.Currently, Asher held six moonstones from among those twelve. John Carol, Anna's father had one which was stolen by Ruby during the attack and was handed over to Shadow Howl Pack. That moonstone was used to weaken the seal of the greater demon, it was a vile creature which thrived in chaos. Since the moonstone had been divided into 12 smaller moonstones. A single one wasn't powerful enough to break the demon's seal. It was only able to weaken the seal and a part of the demon's soul escaped.A deal was made with the demon by the Shadow Howl Pack in their quest to attain the ultimate power.(Asher's POV)The co
(Anna)I brought Claude with me to my apartment. He said he needed a place to stay until he could get a hotel. I decided to let him stay for he had done a lot for me back at The Shadow."Nice place," he complimented while settling down on the sofa with his arm spread on the armrest. His lecherous eyes followed me around my living room as I searched for a vase. His gaze made me feel extremely uncomfortable."You can turn on the TV," I suggested, plucking the vase out of a cabinet and placing the flowers he had brought for me in it. I began to add fresh water."I am fine like this," he said with the click of his tongue and kept on staring. After placing the cylindrical vase on the table, I sat on the sofa as far away as possible from him."So how long are you going to be staying in Howler City?" I asked, trying to divert his attention from me and easing the tense atmosphere."It depends on the mission and considering how long it progresses. I might be staying a while," he answered, his
(Anna)Opening the door I found myself face to face with two individuals who were fast occupying every part of my life.Oliver and Asher.Asher had a hint of smile tugging on his plump lips as he carried a very sullen looking Oliver. The little ones' beautiful eyes were swollen red along with the tip of his nose. He dramatically sniffed loudly and threw himself towards me from Asher's arms. I quickly caught him."Annnaaa!" He cried out and hugged me as if his life was dependent on it. Asher pursed his lips together, seeing his dramatics."What's wrong Oliver?" I asked softly, rubbing his back."I missed your food, I haven't eaten anything since you left. Please, make me something," he told me with a sniffle. My heart ached hearing that he hadn't eaten, although I had instructed the guards to get him a meal and fed him before leaving.Gently I stroked his hair and calmed him down."Don't worry, I will cook for you whatever you want. Stop crying." I placed a small kiss on his head and h
(Asher)I decided to visit Oliver and Anna first before heading off on the mission to gather moonstones. As soon as I entered the house, Oliver came running to me with a very solemn face. His expression told me he meant serious business. He huffed, placing both his hands on his tiny waist, trying to appear like a big guy."Dad! We have a serious issue at hand. Did you see the picture I sent you?" He said, seeming utterly distressed. Extending his hand, he grabbed mine and began dragging me along. I quietly followed, letting him take the lead."I did," I said in all seriousness.Seating me on the lounger, he climbed on and sat beside me."So you understand how tough the situation is? My mate is being stolen from right under my nose. Can you help?" He asked with such profound sadness that I had to extend my hand and pat his head."Don't worry little one, I won't let anyone take Anna. We will get rid of that man trying to get close to her." The belief that she was my woman now had cement
(Asher's POV)I felt the muscles in her body go taut, her breath came out ragged as her scent flooded my nose. A single drop of sweat drizzled down the smooth skin of her neck. With an agitated heart, I awaited her answer and then she turned in my hold. Her green eyes, which were mostly serene like a rainforest, were sharp at that moment. I saw something feral simpering there, something evil. This wasn't the Anna I had come to know. The woman who was also the mother of my child.Without warning, she tried to punch me, but I saw it coming from the side of my eyes and dodged. Another one she hurled my way, her face contorted into rage."Anna! What are you doing?" I asked, swiftly dodging her punches which she relentlessly threw at me. I was perplexed at her reaction, what had gotten her so triggered?Instead of slowing down, her punches picked up the pace, her jaw tightened to the point of hurting her. My heart ached to see such a violent response. Her punches didn't make contact with m
