"Hey, handsome. How was your day?" Emilia asked, leaning on one of the columns on the front porch. The fact that she'd been waiting for him to get home warmed him from the inside out. Striding toward her, he dropped his briefcase, pulled her into his body, and kissed her until they were both fighting for air.

"Better now that you're in my arms. Were you waiting for me?"

"Uh-huh. Are you hungry? We baked some cookies earlier"

"I'm hungry but not for food"

"What do you want then?"

At some point, he had moved to the other house and only came back occasionally to check on his family.
