Chapter 70- Elnora POV
Finding my way to the coffee pot was easy; the smell drew me to it like a beacon. “Oh, I am so sorry! I was going to have your coffee ready for you when you came out.” Theo looks pained with his discovery of me sipping on my freshly made cup of coffee. “I rather make my own cup when possible, so you did the correct thing.” My words do not change his disposition. “How did you sleep last night?” I push on to get his mind off my coffee. “I slept like a log. I have never slept in a bed that comfortable before. Thank you for allowing me to stay within your residence.” “Thank you for helping keep us safe. It was an honor to have you stay with us.” Lawler chimes in.
I watch in wonder as Theo looks at Lawler in shock. “Sir, I do not know what to say. I have never been given this fo
Chapter 71- Elnora POV“Queen Elnora, it is Sabastian, I have information for you, and it is crucial.” Sabastian is in my head, and I can see what he must be seeing. “It is Sabastian. I am linked into his eyes somehow, and I can see what he sees, hold on.” I state to Lawler and Theo as I sit down hastily where I have stopped walking. Connecting to Sabastian, I ask. “How are you? Are you ok?” “I am safe. I am ok.” “Why can I see where you are?” I ask him, confused. “Your bloodline is what will is assisting with that. For now, while you are tied into me, let me show you what I can.” I watch as he moves papers around and starts telling me tidbits of information. “These papers, this is my plan to get us out of here.” I read a little bit of what he has written before he puts it down and picks up a map. “
Chapter 72- Lawler POV Watching Elnora’s face turn pale as she lost her vision scared the daylight out of me. When she told me it was Sabastian and she could see what he was seeing, that relieved me slightly. Will she get her eyesight back? I ask myself over and over while she is concentrating on Sabastian. Missing vision and seeing through another’s eyes is something I have never heard of before; this is out of my realm of knowledge. I watch as Elnora blinks her eyes open, and I can see she has her sight back. As I observe her, I can tell by the look in her eyes that something else is wrong. “What is happening?” I ask from my seated position next to her. “Well, Sabastian has a plan to get them out. It has a death wish written all over it.” She sighs as she speaks. “Would it work?” I listen as Theo asks such a sim
Chapter 73- LawlerWithin a few minutes, I stand up and gesture that I am ready to go. “He knows all of the defenses in the Kingdom.” I am not expecting a reply when I speak, but I am granted one anyway. “He knows the ways of the Kingdom. He doesn’t know that we aren’t going to do things the way that he would expect you to. We are not going to use any of the strategies that he gave you or any of your successors.” Elnora smiles as she speaks. “What will we do?” Theo asks. “Sabastian’s plan, as good as it may be, is a death wish. I could see the possibility within his plan and came up with one of my own as I read his. He showed me the map of their Kingdom and where everyone is staying. My plan will work. Not only will it work, but it will also guarantee everyone is safe and brought home.” Her words are confident. “How are you so sure?” Theo asks again curiously. “I am going to make
Chapter 74- Elnora POVAfter my coffee this morning, I did the most disgusting thing a human can do; I sat on the toilet and read the journal. I flipped through page after page of the hand scrolled names, addresses, and passwords for each Queen that will be willing to help me in my current situation. My flipping of pages stops abruptly when I see an added note in blue ink that was clearly added well after the book was written. Lifting the book closer to my face, I squint to make out exactly what it says. “If a Witch is needed, find Harmony. She has offered her teachings to any who need it.” Looking over the name and location, I smile instantly. Finding the perfect time to tell Lawler that I found someone to help me I know will be difficult. How does one simply state that they found another witch and that I am going to go get help from them? I question myself as I finish my bathroo
Chapter 75- Elnora POVI can hear Lawler and Theo screaming. It takes me a few moments to regain my sight through the blanket of pain. My arm is torn and bleeding profusely. The creature that did this to me looks much like an upright Labrador retriever with fangs and long talons for fingers. It is advancing on the two of them, and I realize I am the only one who can stop it. I am already injured severely and if I go out protecting them, so be it. Struggling up onto my feet, I can feel my blood loss instantly. I grab a large stick and hold it out in the direction of the creature. “No! Down boy!” I demand. Immediately it turns around, and I have its attention. “Go!” I bark at it again. It lunges at me, and I quickly move from its grip. “You need to go. Go home. Go on now before I have to hurt you.” I am stern with my words, much like telling a stray to go away;
Chapter 76- Elnora POV“What do you mean one saved your life once?” I demand from him, and my crying automatically subsides. “Just as it sounds. Something bad had happened, one of the vampires was attacking me, and it came out and protected me from the vampire.” “So, what is it? A werewolf or something?” “No, nothing like that. They are really just a different breed of dog.” “That is not a breed of dog.” I decline his answer immediately. There is no way that creature was a breed of dog. “Maybe not at home, but here it is. What we once knew about the world has changed drastically already.” “We will talk about this more later.” I insist. He is confident in his words, and it makes me proud beyond measures. “Here we are,” Lawler announces as he returns to the room. “Oh, hello, boys. Did we wake you when w
Chapter 77- Elnora POV“Our Kingdom has been breached.” As expected, they gasp and look at each other, horrified. “We have locked down the Kingdom, and we have swept the Kingdom for anyone who doesn’t belong here. What is more, they took Sebastian.” “What can we do to help?” Hildi asks, stepping forward and giving me the box that I knew was coffee. “I have a plan, and I need your help.” “Anything.” They all mumble. “Once I tell you the plan, I need you to tell me how you would get around it. We need to make sure that there are no loopholes or voids in my plan.” “You want us to tell you what is wrong with your plan?” Leon asks, walking onto the porch with Theo and another man I have not met yet. “Yes, exactly, Leon. I need to know where in my plan others can get through. If you can get through, they can get through. I need you to help me fix this plan so we don’t
Chapter 78- Lawler POVElnora has been explaining her plan in precise detail for the past two hours. My head is beginning to spin from what she has planned. So many steps will need to be taken to insure that it is pulled off, but it looks like it will work. We will be able to save more than just Sabastian. “I am going to make some lunch for everyone. I will be back in a few moments.” I announce to get away and take a pause for a few moments. Never would I have thought that I would be planning the Kingdom’s next move with many townspeople. It is, without a doubt, my biggest mistake that I never knew that I had made. The people who live here love the Kingdom as much, if not more than I do. They are excellent at finding loopholes and assisting in ideas on helping make Elnora’s plan stronger. “Hey, do you have a mo
Hello wonderful readers! It has been a privilege to write for you these past months. Your continued support brought me joy and the strength to bring you this book. This book has allowed me to show my children how determination looks. I am going to tell you a secret that I told my children and my family while writing this book- "I am writing for the one person reading right now. If they read for a day or read all of the chapters, I will finish it for them." This gave me the push I needed to continue. When I felt like I was slowing down or getting tired, I thought of you. Thank you for being there on my feed showing me that you were reading. I needed that support, and you gave it to me even if it were only a few moments. As it has ended I have decided to ask you, my reader, if you would be interested in reading a shorter sequel. You can let me know in a short comment, and I will happily begin working on one for you. Stories are a wonderful way to escape the world a
Chapter 171- Elnora POV Everyone has taken their seats and turned their attention to us. “We have learned within our Kingdom that for every problem we have, there is a silver lining. Once again, our King and Queen prevailed, and with their victory, we gained a new King and Queen in training. A gift to our Kingdom that we all thank you for granting to us.” Sabastian bows to all of us before continuing. “When Lawler began seeing you, Elnora, in the human world during the cover of night, he started changing for the better. He started becoming the King he had always wanted to become. Then when you entered our world and completed your mark, you granted him the strength needed to be the best version of King he could be. A gift he has granted your son and our future King. It is my honor to welcome you into our Kingdom not only as our Queen and friend but as the wife of my best friend.” &nbs
Chapter 170- Elnora POV Blow after blow; we watch as the pair of them struggle. "How is he still standing?" I link with Harmony. "Magic, they have witches on his side that are keeping his strength up.” "Can we break it?" I beg. "No, not unless we find the witches and the magic is not coming from here." Harmony sounds defeated. "I cannot live on without him.” "You will have to, for your children." Harmony moves to my side and takes my hand as we watch in horror. Lawler is beginning to lose, and I have had enough. How can I stop this? I ask myself. We watch as his father lifts his hand one last time, and as he does, I know this will be the blow that knocks Lawler unconscious. "STOP!" Tavin demands as he walks forward. My attention doesn't leave Lawler and his position, but the command stops the blow. "You are to remove yourself from his bo
Chapter 169- Elnora POV My spell is working. Lawler has a bloody nose as he stands, but nothing more. On the other hand, his father is bleeding profusely and has a broken nose. “What did you do?” He calls out. “I did nothing,” Lawler responds to him. His father struggles to his feet, and when he finally makes it, he throws another punch into Lawler’s stomach. I watch in amazement as Lawler hardly flinches and his father withers on the ground in pain. “Just toss him in the dungeon, and we will deal with him another day.” I request. “Stay back.” Sabastian pulls me from my waist backward towards the beach. I can see what he sees from this position, and people surround us we do not know. I lock eyes with Sabastian, and he nods his head. I look to Talvin and link with him first. “I am calling in back up; tu
Chapter 168- Elnora POV “You look beautiful,” Merrick announces as he enters the room and sees me standing on the dressing platform. “Thank you.” He offers his hand for me to step down after the last adjustment to my dress is made, and I take it. “Really, you are glowing. I am so happy for you.” He states as he walks with me to the door. “Are you sure you boys are ok with me getting married?” I ask him. “Mom, he already adopted us, and we took his last name. We signed off on that paper. Of course, we are ok with you getting married. Finally, we will all have the same last name again. You are the only odd man out.” He pokes fun at me. “I don’t want to upset any of you.” “This has been the best five years anyone could have ever asked for. Trust me, and we are all here for you. If you need me to make a distraction today, just say the word bab
Chapter 167- Elnora POV Vampires can drink a lot before feeling even the slightest buzz from consumption. Today, I am saying prayers to the porcelain gods of Harmony’s guest bathroom, or should I say my room at her house. I feel horrible. My bachelorette party was the best party I have ever been to in my life. Even the creatures that were invited had a blast and drank with us. A soft knock sounds on the bathroom door. “No one is home.” I joke. “I have some tea that will help you feel better,” Sydney calls softly. “Come in.” Granting her access, I wipe my mouth and sit on the floor. “Feeling pretty bad, I see.” “Yeah.” “Harmony said this tea will help you feel better.” “Will it, though?” I ask as I take it from her hands. “She made me some, and I feel completely norma
Chapter 166- Elnora POV Relief. That is the feeling that consumes me when Lawler announces that his father is alive. His face looks horrified and like he is waiting for me to bolt at any moment, but instead, I move to him and sit in his lap. “Oh, Lawler.” I hug him tightly. “I know you are angry.” He begins. “No, I am not. I am relieved more than you will ever know. This is honestly not even close to the things that I was thinking. This is the lesser of the evils that had gone through my mind. I wish you would have told me sooner so I could tell you.” “Tell me what?” “We had your fathers’ blood. We have put a barrier up in our Kingdom, and along with the portals for all the Kingdoms, he cannot get in. There is no way he will ever get you here.” “Spells can be broken.”“They can, but they are pretty good spells. We also have backup p
Chapter 165- Elnora POV Lawler has been distant this week. Not in the mental sense; when he is with me, he is with me entirely. Communication is on point, and he makes sure all of my needs are met, but physically, he is distant. Theo insists that he is working on something, and everything is fine. I know better, though; I can feel it deep down in my soul that something is off. Something has presented itself, and he is trying to handle it without me knowing. I have considered that it was information on Brogan, but Leon comes to me every day after he scouts with any information he has or doesn’t have. Looking out over the ocean from our balcony, I drink my tea in peace. I finally switched from coffee a few years ago when Tiffany insisted I learn the difference in taste and smell in herbs so that I would never fall prey to someone trying to drug me. Over the
Chapter 164- Lawler POV For five years, I have searched for proof that my father was alive or dead, never to find a whisper of the truth. Now I find out that he is alive and coming for me just as I have something important happening in my life. “Do you know when?” I ask as I rub the irritation from my face. “By the next full moon.” He replies. The full moon was the night before last; I have about a month. I begin to calculate what needs to be done before anything happens. “What do you know of the puddle?” I ask standing, producing the blade of grass. “Oh, right. About that.” He stutters. “Touch it.” I insist. “You already know your answer.” He counters. “I need to see for myself.” Holding it closer to him, I watch as he picks it up and peals it apart. Nothing happens; he is the
