"We should burn their bodies," I announced, my voice steady though my heart pounded in my chest. The others nodded in agreement as the smell of ash and burnt earth hung in the air, remnants of a battle that felt almost apocalyptic. There was an eerie silence in that moment—a rare, fleeting calm amid the chaos.

I turned to walk away, but as I did, I felt my knees weaken, a sudden wave of exhaustion crashing over me. The world tilted once more. Before I could hit the ground, a pair of strong arms caught me, holding me steady.

"Olivia," Alexander's voice was both a reprimand and a soothing balm, "you should rest."

"I can't," I replied, a stubborn edge to my voice. "I need to heal these people."

He frowned, his grip firm yet gentle. "Sit down. We'll bring them to you."
