This is a short introduction on the Kingdom of Enoch and neighbouring countries.
The Kingdom of Enoch is a vast kingdom that is centered in the middle of three neighbouring countries which are at war.
The nation in the North consists of the Kingdom of Lestria where Lilith originates from. The current King of the country is Valjean Sinclair, a bastard son who purged his tyrannical father from the throne. The country has always been raged by war, hence, there is limited fertile soil. The current King of the country decided to make a peace treaty by offering Lilith, who is the daughter of a prestigious ducal household to marry into royalty as well as halting all war against Enoch.
This is to build a peaceful relationship between the two nations as well as to gain food for their citizens. They exchange the vast minerals they have with the grains and weapons from Enoch.
The relationship between the Southern country with Enoch had been mended for the past 20 years, with the Kingdom of Trevault lending a close aid to Enoch whenever the country from the West attacks. This was due to the fact that Xander and the current king grew up as close childhood friends. The King's name being Gloucester Trevault, the close personal knight of Xander when he was young.
Located on the farthest side of the Western region resides the Agrestian Empire, which is a small country that often mobilises armies against the Kingdom of Enoch to claim land. Their backings being magicians and the usage of machinery for war.
Similarly in the far East, the minor Kingdom of Nouduya existed as a lost and forgotten Kingdom. A long time ago, before the Kingdom of Enoch rose in prestige and glory, the Kingdom of Nouduya had been a major nation that shouldn't have been taken lightly of.
The Kingdom of Nouduya houses magicians adept in healing and fertility, with a minority of the populations having the ability as a seer who could predict the future. These people were said to have been close with the Holy beast or a direct descendent of the queen. The Kingdom however, was lost in history as they vanished from the maps centuries ago.
The current King of the Kingdom of Enoch is Xander Deniel Von Enoch. He is a fair and wise ruler who has kept to the peace treaty amongst the nations and ruled his Kingdom in peace. His son, William Zacharias Von Enoch, is the current crown prince of the Kingdom.
The Enochs consists of a long line of royalty dating back to 90 years ago. They were founded after a major war against the silver dragon of Nocwhay. The dragon originally went savage and had turned a dark shade of black, consuming everything within its reach and causing diseases as well as famine due to the calamity it brought. Upon slaying it, the dragon thanked the Enochs for releasing it of its pain and blessed them, giving them hair of silver which has been the symbol of royalty ever since.
In the Kingdom of Lestria, they were founded in a similar way except instead of a dragon, it was a serpent with scales that rivalled gold, it was said that the serpent bestowed a blessing upon the kings.
Legends go that the serpent decided to bestow a blessing upon the kings as a reward for rescuing it when it was on the verge of death. Since then, the country was blessed with minerals of the finest quality and in tremendous quantity. The land however, was infertile and unsafe for agriculture due to the constant turmoil of war due to the greed of certain nobles who long for the richness of the land.
In the South, the Kingdom of Trevault received their blessing from the Divine Wolf. It was said, that a long time ago, the Divine Wolf descended from the Snow Lucradis which was a mountain that was said to reach the heavens. The Divine Wolf got caught in a trap set by a hunter and was in great pain, howling for days, sending the land into an everlasting state of winter.
However, as the mountain was hard to ascend, even the hunter who had left the trap there never returned. The one who stumbled upon the Divine Wolf was none other than young Trevault. The future king of a great Kingdom who was scaling the mountain as a thrill seeker.
The Divine Wolf did not trust him and tried to maul him apart, nonetheless, his compassion and empathy touched the soul of the Divine Wolf as he had helped it even though his arm was bleeding from the injury where the wolf had bit into.
As an act of gratitude, the Divine Wolf has fought by the side of the Trevaults and blessed them with abilities that could withstand the cold. Their countrymen being resistant to the cold lived well in the snowy region of the Kingdom of Trevault.
As for the Agrestian Empire, they were a newly formed empire. The people living there comprising of citizens who abandoned their original country, saying that they would purge the world before rebuilding it once more. Their emblem carries the image of a phoenix, as a symbol of their plan for the world. To their aids are the magicians who join them solely for money.
Finally, the lost Kingdom of Nouduya holds the emblem of the tiger. The tiger was said to be able to see far into the future. It bestowed this power onto the royal family in repayment for what they had done for it. The Holy Tiger once roamed the land as a young cub and was a target for poachers.
When it was heavily injured, it was saved by the hands of the Nouduya women. Even though the Holy Tiger was beyond saving by mortal means, it ascended into the heavenly realm as a divine being. Earning it the title of the Holy Tiger. It bestowed its blessing upon the matriarchal line of royalty. Hence, in this lost kingdom, queens were always the one who had the last word as well as the power.
The power of a seer usually comes once the women is past a certain age. Her dreams would be plagued by visions of the future. This future usually were unstable, but once the dreams keep looping, it was a future that could never be amended. This was also one of the reasons why the country suddenly vanished.
It was said that the women of the Nouduya saw a future where they would be repressed and taken as hostages for their power. To prevent that fate from occurring, they casted a forbidden spell and the entire kingdom vanished from the face of the world.
And that about wraps it up for the short intro of the Kingdoms of the World.
"Mikhail... get up... time... leave..." a woman's voice rang through Mikhail's ears as he groaned and shifted sleepily in his wooden bed. The words broken as he was more focused on staying asleep."Just a... few... minutes..." Mikhail mumbled as he wrapped his blanket tightly around his body. He had slept late the day before and wanted some much needed rest.Silence filled the room for a short moment before the cold air surrounded Mikhail. He curled in a ball before groggily getting up, as his hazy eyes blinked stupidly, trying to clarify his vision."Wha... where's the blanket... Mom?!" Mikhail gasped as his vision cleared and he saw Diane wrapped in a black cloak which came with a hood, holding onto his blanket as she stared at him with a fierce look."I told you to get up before dawn. Now the sun is nearly in the sky. We can't stay here any longer.""... It... huh... It's just dawn...?" Mikhail s
Everytime I go to sleep I see the same things. A wide hall with draping red cloth hanging from the ceilings.A soft whisper of my name echoes as I chase after the source of the voice. When I reach my hand and pull on the draping cloth, I find a throne before a dark blue banner or tapestry of some sort. It had the image of a tiger that seemed to glow a certain gold whenever I walked towards it.I felt as if it called out to me. But whenever I reached out to touch it, a voice would call for me in a seemingly distant voice. I would turn around to find the previous red drapings gone and replaced with a regal throne room.As I glanced around, people with undiscerning features would appear; almost as if they had always been there. They would be bowing lowly with their head towards the ground in a respectful manner.Soft whisperings would then call me towards another location. I would then tip toe around them as I head tow
Xander pulls on his street wear as he glances back at his room. No one should be able to freely enter nor exit his chambers. Plus, the layered padding underneath the blanket should serve well as a camouflage. He wanted to visit Diane and ask her regarding the past. About why she decided to up and leave. And to ask whether Mikhail really was his son. No, that's not right, Mikhail is his son. There shouldn't be any mistake. With silver hair like his... The thought of Diane with another person was inconceivable.Xander shook his head to clear his thoughts as he then opened his window. He stared at the ground which was ways below him before nimbly hopping onto a tree that grew close to his window in silence. The leap was far but with his abilities, it was nothing but a breeze. The best time to sneak out was either early morning, before the break of dawn or deep into the night when everyone was deep in slumber. It's not that the su
As soon as Xander returned to the castle, he left his horse with a knight that happened to be patrolling the area. The knight was confused as he had not been notified of the King's prior departure from the castle and had no idea when or where the horse came from as well as why the King was dressed as a commoner. He however, simply saluted and obliged to the King's demands and led the horse back to the stable with a dazed expression.Xander then took long strides back to his chambers, not bothering to hide the fact that he had left the castle in secret. He had bigger fish to fry after all. His mind was filled with one thing and one thing alone. Finding Diane and his son.His jaw was clenched and his expression grim. He couldn't let this situation happen again. With thoughts of finding Diane flooding his mind, he changed into his formal wear and headed straight to the barracks."Guys, did any of you do something wrong?"
Word of the mobilisation of the King's soldiers were whispered around the secluded town of Tefflander. Mikhail furrowed his brows as he cocked his head quizzically. How did they receive the news when the official city was miles behind him?Who could the people the King was looking for possibly look like? For him to mobilise such a large troop just to track them down... Mikhail pondered on the question as his mother tapped onto his shoulder, telling him to pull to a halt."Stop. We're here. I'll talk to the village head.""...? Okay..."Mikhail pulled the reins, bringing Brownie to a halt as he watched his mother jump off the cart. It was now evening, they had only stopped for that short break during breakfast. Whatever his mother was thinking about was unclear to him, except for the fact that she was willing to cast everything in the wind, just to leave Vogrant far behind her.He then turned h
A woman ran down the palace hallway as her expression scrunched into a worry filled one. Her long red hair billowing in the wind as she clung tightly onto the cloak that was snugly wrapped around her body.Surprised expressions were displayed on the faces of the people she had passed by. They genuflected in reverence as she passed them without sparing a second glance.Xander stood in his study, holding a book gingerly in his palm. His eyes boring a hole through the middle of the book. He had a stern and firm look on his face, jaws clenched as he emitted an ominous aura.Suddenly, the doors of his study flew open. The sound it made when it hit the walls was loud and garnered his unamused attention."... This had better be good news..." Xander said below his breath, his eyes still focused on the book."Xa...nder... haah... haah... is it true...?" a woman's raspy voice filled the now morbidly silent ro
A few months had passed since Diane left without any trace. Xander had been in deep distress due to the fact.He watched his quill dance between his fingers as the nib wandered across the paper. The white feather seemed to be lulling him to sleep, yet, his eyes remained open. For the past few months, sleep had been aversive and Xander had forgotten what the calm blanket of oblivion felt like. His mind wandered from time to time, but he could never properly rest. Today was supposed to be no different."Your Highness! I have good news! And well bad news..." Louis' muffled voice rang from behind the heavy wooden door.Xander whipped his head up from the news as the quill slipped from his fingers, ink splattering across the papers. It had been documents pertaining business between the nations, but the sound of "good news", was all that he could care to be bothered with. Especially if there was a small glimmer of h
Hooves clacked against the earth, resounding across the plain as the steady beat grew louder. Soldiers clad in their gothic armour sat upon their high steeds as they followed after the lead of their general.Xander glanced behind him at the men before urging them to keep up. He had been travelling for a few hours upwards to Tefflander Village where the rebellion was seemingly getting worse. There was little he could do to appease the outcry of rebellion aside from personally showing his face to his people and offering them aid. They had probably felt abandoned and mistreated due to his actions. Lilith had been right all along. Xander clenched his teeth as he brought his gaze forward, cuing his men to follow him as he increased the pace of his black steed. They were close to Ihgor, a rural town under the supervision of Count Douwell, or what used to be of House Douwell, which had been influenced by the Tefflander villagers to join in
"Are you up?" Mikhail pries his eyes open groggily before he groans and rubs at them before turning towards the source of the voice."Whu--?" Mikhail blurts out a confused reply as he blinks his bleary eyes at William, waiting for them to focus but grew drowsy in the meantime."It's high time you get up. It's the second time in my life where I had to personally wake you up." William sighs as Mikhail's eyes slowly shut."Don't you dare fall asleep! We need to move out while it's still lights out. The terrain is more dangerous at night and we need to be able to pinpoint where to go from here." William frowns as he shakes Mikhail awake."F-five minutes more..." Mikhail tried to keep his eyes open but couldn't help it as the grogginess overwhelmed him.William released Mikhail's shoulders as he frowns, knitting his eyebrows in annoyance. Without thinking twice, he grabs the hides out of Mikhail's reach and tossed them to the other end of the tent, fold
"Hup! Easy!" William steadies his horse as he approached the deserted camp. The men behind him murmur in silence as he spares a glance at the messenger. He purses his lips and led them towards the stable before hopping off his horse. It's unlikely that the messenger is lying to me. But even if he is, I'd better keep a safe distance for myself from the group. "I'll look around. Remain vigilant!" William instructed as I kept a calm expression to ensure they don't think something was amiss. The messenger stated that there would be someone to greet me once I arrive. Yet, there is nary a soul nearby. Did something occur? William keeps a wary hand on the hilt of his blade as he surveyed the empty tents that were billowing with the frosty wind. Whatever footsteps that could have been used to track down where they could possibly have gone were covered in the cloak of white.
Venturing further up to the north was where the enemy camp was located. Arthur holds onto the contract, glancing at its content as he purses his lips and knits his brows. He looked over his shoulder, thinking about his sister and everyone back at the camp before frowning. However, as he turned to look forward, he shakes his head and sighs.Men clad in jet black armor with red lining greeted him with a few warning arrows before he climbed off his horse. Arthur slips a note he had written prior to leaving the camp between the stallion's caparison before sending it off by startling it into running away.He watched the men try to shoot it down or run after it but failed as the horse ran past them. A sigh of relief escapes his lips that he had brought along his beloved horse before a burly man approached him and covered his head with a bag."You do know who I am, right?" Arthur frowns as the man shoved hi
"I can't." Arthur pushes Soleil off his arm as he grabs the contract and leaves the tent.Soleil glances at the flap swaying back and forth from where Arthur had left as she flicks her tongue in silence. She then slithers over to Mikhail, her faintly golden scales reflecting the light of the oil lamp on the desk.Mikhail holds his head and grimaces before blinking his eyes, slowly making out Soleil's presence as he sits up straight. He stares at her for a moment before glancing at his hands that were tightly restrained by some thick ropes."Shall I get you out?" Soleil slithers up his arm as Mikhail shakes his head, unlike what she expected him to do."No. I need to show my sincerity and that I truly wish to help him.""Is that so? But would that require you to be restrained like so?" Soleil wraps herself around his neck, dangling loosely like a jewellery as Mikhail sighed to himself."Tigris showed me a memory of young Arthur. He woul
Back at Trevault or somewhere fairly close to Trevault, Mikhail kneels stiffly as Arthur paces around him. Even if he wanted to make an excuse, the way he was caught clearly puts him at a disadvantageous spot regardless.Mikhail shifts uncomfortably before straightening his back upon noticing Arthur's narrowed gaze. His legs had been growing number by the second and he could only feel pins and needles in his lower half."How did you escape?""I escaped? No... I..." Mikhail peeked at Arthur's face before the flap of the tent was raised and Juniper walked in eyeing Mikhail as she gave him a belittling gaze."Brother... so this is where he was..." Juniper sighed as she walked over towards Mikhail and kicks him onto his side.Mikhail gave her an astonished gasp before knitting his brows. It was totally uncalled for, for her to act in such a manner when she was the one who requested such an act to be carried out. He was simply carrying out her ord
After their discussion, Xander walks down the corridor with Lilith by his side. Not too far down from the room they just exited, he halts in his steps.Lilith paused as she turned to face him, curious eyes met muddled ones as she opens her mouth to say something but decides against it. She purses her lips, deducing the words she knew he was going to say before swallowing the lump in her throat."The nobles must be feeling rather impatient after this long. They must not be used to waiting, being the top of the social hierarchy... we should head over." Lilith eloquently puts her words into a chain to shackle Xander down, hoping that his Kingly duties would keep him from going back to Diane."... .... You're right. We should make haste..." Xander meets Lilith's gaze as he takes a step forward.Lilith releases the breath she had been holding as she heads over to his side. It wasn't like her to act in such a behaviour. However, upon seeing Diane up close, it w
The hands of the clock on the wall seemed to tick all too loudly as the only sound that accompanied it was the clinking of the teacup as it rested back onto its saucer. The uncomfortable silence and tension in the room made the air overly sufferable for the knights stationed to guard Xander.Lilith takes a sip from her teacup, her expression calm. It made it seem like she was unfazed by such a situation and had been in one countless times before. She glances over at the two people across from her before peeking at Xander from the corner of her eyes.If she had known better, it was obvious he was irritated and his bad mood was much worse than when he had to deal with the pesky nobles. Lilith shut her eyes and takes a deep breath before placing her teacup back onto its saucer as she decided to break the silence."To what do we owe this unfounded invasion?" Lilith directed her question at Diane but before Diane could say anything, the man beside her cut her off.
"Your Highness! I have an urgent report that beseeches your attention!" a messenger rushes before Lilith, lowering his head as he holds forward a scroll to prove of his task."Let me hear it." Lilith swivels around to face the man, turning away from the window as she sits herself down by her desk."There is a foreign enemy consisting of a large troop by our Eastern borders. Reports have claimed that their attire are not known to resemble any of the Agrestians, Trevaulties or Lestrian garments."Lilith straightens herself as she taps her fingers impatiently. She opens the lone jewellery box that rests atop her desk, the only object that didn't match her otherwise packed desk of paperwork. She stares at the innocent stone sitting in the box, void of any colour before shutting the box almost as quickly as she had opened it. She ponders something before shifting her gaze to the messenger who had been furtively glancing at her."I've received the
"... The... Gods?" Arthur glanced at Mikhail with a look of disbelief as Mikhail felt the hesitant smile on his face start to falter.Arthur then burst into laughter as he holds onto his stomach for dear life. Mikhail frowns in response, lowering his disappointed expression to his hands which he suddenly realised were cuffed."What?! You... you chained me up? Why?" Mikhail gasped and shifted his anxious eyes at Arthur who was busy wiping the tears from the corner of his eyes that were a by-product of Mikhail's words."Because of what you said. It could be anyone's guess that you were grasping at straws, begging us to save William. But for you to make a wild guess that we had hidden messengers... it would be implying we don't trust our own men." Arthur tugs on the chain, jerking Mikhail's attention towards him before donning a serious expression."I wasn't grasping at straws. I saw it myself.""That's impossible. We didn't find any communicati
