May’s POV

I couldn’t believe what my mother said, but then again, I wouldn’t blame her. If I was in her shoes, maybe I would say the same thing.

That was a fat lie, I wouldn’t tell my daughter to put up with her cheating husband, the one that didn’t respect her, or rate her at all. Aside from seeing her with that woman at the club, he had dragged me to some room to humiliate me.

That was certainly not what I would tell my daughter at all.

“Mom?” I called, giving her a look that should tell her I was confused. “How can you even say that?” I asked. “I just told you my husband cheated on me and that’s all you can say?”

“Did you just explain that you didn't catch them doing anything?” she asked me.

“Does that justify cheating then?” I asked right back instead of answering.
