“But Laura, you can't just tell. What if he's actually the one? Justin is a psychopath, a real one.” Rena said across the other end, and I sniffled, taking in a deep breath as I tried to digest her words. Rena wasn't wrong, infact she was never wrong about Justin, he's a psychopath, the manipulative type, but I couldn't bring myself to imagine him doing this to me. What would be his gain?

“I don't think he's the one, Rena.” I tried to sound reassuring to myself, despite I could feel my nerves flaying.

“If you believe so. All I care about right now is you staying alright, Laura.” Rena said, concern etched in her mouth, and I smiled weakly like she could see me.

“Yes, thank you, Rena.”

Throughout the night, Rena cheered me up by giving me the latest information about her daily activities and all, I couldn't hear voices from downstairs which made me ponder if Eric was up to something, but I was too exhausted to even go check it out until I slept off.
