Chapter 33 : New Target

I knocked on Franky’s door harder than necessary, half expecting Daniel to get out of the car to ask me what was wrong. But when he didn’t chase after me, that pissed me off even more.

Franky opened the door and the sight of him made me forget about how mad I was at Daniel. He was a person who was usually put together in his appearance, but not today. It looked like Franky hadn’t shaved in a while or combed his hair. He was wearing a white tank top and stained black shorts. This was how I knew something was wrong.

“Come in, quickly,” Franky said in a rushed voice, ushering me into his house, and locking the door behind me. I could smell a strong scent of liquor coming off him though it was only morning.

What the hell was going on with him?

Franky led me into the kitchen. “Do you want a cup of coffee?” he asked.

“Yes, please,” I answered, mostly so that he would have one too and it would help him sober up.
