Third Person's POV:

"Not again. I'm too devastated by all these wedding dramas, and I can't take it anymore. Why is Mom doing this to me?" Mason vented his frustration to Anna, who found it useless to respond at this moment. Initially, Anna had disapproved of her brother being forced into marriage. However, now that the marriage had taken place, she knew Mason couldn't shirk his responsibilities toward his wife.

"You should have thought about this before getting married. Tell me, how many days will you mourn about this? Your marriage has already happened, and there's no going back, brother," Anna said, though she recognized the harshness of her words in the current moment.

Undoubtedly, Anna's words struck a chord with Mason, as he deep down knew she was right. However, he wasn't ready to accept it. The thought of spending even a second with Isabel seemed impossible, let alone an entire day.

"Where is Mom right now?" Mason asked Anna.

"In the kitchen, I guess."

It's unlikely that I can make it," Mason explained, feigning innocence to make his words appear genuine. However, he overlooked his dad's presence, who stood disappointed by Mason's dishonesty. Liam, though somewhat convinced by Mason's false excuse, regretted extending the invitation without consulting Mason. He contemplated apologizing and rescheduling, but Mason's dad intervened."I don't think it will be a problem, Mason. We have enough employees to manage our office works, and I believe your absence won't create any disturbance," Mason's dad declared in a cold tone. Third Person's POV: Mason wrestled with the urge to immediately oppose his mom's request, but a lack of courage held him back. The thought of staying at Isabel's house was utterly unappealing, yet the fear of confronting his mother paralyzed him. He anticipated another round of insults if he spoke up. Suppressing his discomfort, Mason's discomfort didn't go unnoticed by Isabel. "There's no need for that, Mom. We can return after dinner," she interjected, keenly aware that Mason was reluctant to spend the night at her place. Isabel understood that her home might not be Mason's ideal retreat, and she didn't want to burden him further. Grateful that he accepted the dinner invitation, she prioritized his comfort. Third Person's POV: "Please don't say that. My family isn't to blame here. If you want..." Isabel tried to make Mason understand, but he cut her off. His anger had reached a boiling point, and he had no intention of hearing anything from Isabel in return. Mason was determined to unleash his anger on Isabel through his words. "Enough of your emotional drama. And, of course, you and your family put me in this position," he declared, speaking in a firm voice without raising it too loud, mindful of the fact that he didn't want any of her family members to overhear. He knew the consequences wouldn't be in his favor if his mom learned about any of this. "How dare you marry into such a wealthy family when you've lived your whole life in this sh*tty slum?" Mason questioned, sounding curious, but his words felt like a tight slap across Isabel's face. It wasn't that she wasn't prepared to hear something like this, but the reality of those words stung. Accustomed to honesty with her family, she struggled to come up with an excuse. "No, Emma... Not at all. We were just talking about something. I'm really sorry if it sounded like we were arguing," Mason interjected, standing beside Isabel. He had heard Emma's question and felt a surge of fear when Isabel didn't respond. To avoid any doubts about their relationship from her family, something he dreaded, he decided to clear the air. He knew that if Isabel's family suspected something, the news could eventually reach his mom. "Oh, okay..." Emma sounded flustered by Mason's interruption. While she acted as if she believed Mason's explanation, there lingered a suspicion that she had indeed heard Mason's angry outburst. For the moment, she chose not to press the matter further, deciding to discuss it later with her sister, Isabel.
