Although it didn't look like it, that short outing Dexter had made to the venue where Fleurie was beheaded had exhausted him. Though he had stubbornly gone to attend to duties that required his attention, the moment be settled down in his chambers, he had fallen asleep almost instantly. The doctor said it might take a while before Dexter regained his full strength. Seems like he didn't want to wait that long.

It was already late evening and Maya having nothing to do, watched Dexter as he slept, a small smile on her face. He looked absolutely adorable lying there, his dark curls falling over his face, covering his eyes. His long lashes fluttered as he slept, his face relaxed. After their heartfelt conversation three nights ago, she'd felt happier and as a result, she was much freer with him.

He's so beautiful when he sleeps, Maya thought to herself as he brushed his curls away from his face, careful not to wake him up. She couldn't stop watching him, how could one man

Days grew into a week and weeks into a month. No sign of Nicholas anywhere. Every raid or search that had taken place yielded no success. It was as if he just disappeared into thin air. It made Maya restless because she knew there was no way he would be backing down without a fight. She could only hope and pray he eventually gets caught. Although their relationship was back to normal, no one could deny the underlying tension growing in the palace. Earlier there had been an uproar in the royal council following the death of Fleurie and Gavin's threats of retaliation to which Dexter had promptly increased the castle's defense. Like Dexter had predicted, he had no intention of letting it go. Fully recovered, Dexter had begun to spend a lot of time working and training to recover his full strength. It was something Maya was always excited to see. She always made sure she was present when he trained. Winter arrived but it was unlike any winter Maya had experienced. Other than the below fr

Four weeks later. After that night, Whatever had made Dexter so worried seemed to disappear with the wind and everything was back to normal... Except for the heightened security in the palace. In the weeks that followed, Maya wasn't allowed to go anywhere without having multiple guards and maids with her. But she didn't mind, mainly because she had no energy to go anywhere. She'd been unable to walk without a wince since that night and whenever Dexter saw her groaning, a look of embarrassment would cross his face as he tried to look away. Maya would use that opportunity to glare at him. He seemed guilty to have caused her that much discomfort but Maya just thought it hurt so good. when she finally regained control of her legs, she was always too sluggish to get out of bed so she spent most of her time inside the king's chambers. Today however had to be one of the worst days yet. Maya had woken up that morning with a heavy nausea and headache which grew into something

Storming out of the bed, Dexter donned on his armor, leaving no time to spare. The crashes had become even louder still and from a distance he could see they were beginning to light some sections of the palace on fire. He gritted his teeth, the anger seeping out of his skin. The loud noises finally woke Maya up. Stirring on the bed, she sat up, squinting at the flickering lights that were filtering into the room. "What's going on?" She asked, her confusion apparent in her sleepy voice. Dexter froze, then rushed up to her. Grabbing her by the shoulders, he stared into her eyes. Calmly but sternly, he gave his orders. "Do not leave this room. You mustn't. Do you understand?" Maya face stared at him, confusion filling her face but she nodded all the same. Dexter's hands tightened on her shoulders even more as his gaze flickered, indecision riding him. He eventually let out a breath and kissed her forehead. "Please, stay safe." He begged, his voice thick with emo

Maya woke up to a moving carriage. Forcing her bleary eyes open when the force of rattling became too much, she blinked continuously, her gaze unfocused. She stared listlessly for a while before her brain began to function. A chill running through her body, she realized just how cold she was. She tried to move but found out to her dismay that she had been bound, her wrists already red from the chaffing, the murky smell the carriage emanated kept turning her stomach, her dress reeked off the vomit and there were bloodstains at the hem of her gown. She reached up to her neck where a dagger was pressed against the night before, wincing at the pain. The sharp edges had bruised her skin. She glanced out the window. It was still dawn. "Finally awake?" A voice asked, causing her to stiffen. She looked to the direction. There was a hooded figure at the door. It was Nicholas and he wasn't looking at her. Maya tried to sit up, ignoring the splinters of pain running he

Maya got pushed to one of the rundown tents at the far end of the campsite. Stumbling to the ground, Maya bit back a groan as she hissed, pain searing through her. The tent smelled awful and if it wasn't because there was nothing to retch up in her stomach, she would have vomited there and then. She picked herself up and tried to run out of the tent, but there were guards stationed in front of it. The moment they saw her, they shoved her back in, making her land back on the ground with a thud. Not wanting to incur their wrath, she decided to stay back. Slumping to the ground, Maya tried to hold back her tears but they slipped out of her eyes and soon her body was racking with sobs. She bit her trembling lips, clutching her hands together. I'm so scared, she muttered to herself over and over again. This place was riddled with men and there was no chance of escape even if she tried. As she cried, questions arose in her mind once again. What do they want from her bu

(The next day) The very next day, a meeting was called upon with the members of the Royal council. The message has been passed across to the them and they have spent the last few hours arguing back and forth, telling the king not to do it but was he listening? The letter had confirmed two things. One, the Queen was still alive and well and Gavin had indeed betrayed the kingdom and wants a war unless the king fulfilled his requirement. He had already sent a scroll requiring the king's signature to passing the kingdom to him for the Queen. "We can attack him! No need to listen to that idiot's threat!" The minister of defense roared, glancing at his colleagues. A few of them nodded in support while the rest of the groaned in disapproval. "If we do that, the queen will die." Another noble shot back, countering him. "We've already found their base, we can have someone sneak into there and rescue the queen, no need to sign that stupid thing." He stressed again

In the days that followed, Maya had grown positively miserable. The pain in her abdomen had worsened and living without food and water and weakened her terribly. She used to cry herself to sleep but now she doesn't have the energy for that anymore. She just lays on the ground, curled into a ball as she fought away the cold that had lodged into her very bones. Fortunately after that night, Gavin had stopped seeing her. But it didn't mean her worries had abated. She was always scared that one day, a random man might waltz into the tent and decide to use her body for pleasure. The terrifying thought had made it impossible for her to relax in any way. Today however proved to be different, as Maya laid on the bare ground, she noticed there was a flurry of activity in the usually calm campground. Blinking her eyes, Maya tried to figure out what was going on? Is Dexter here already? The thought made her heart race and she hoped she was true. Struggling to get to a sitting p

As she slowly opened her drowsy eyes, she scanned the chambers and spotted Dexter already dressing up for his duties. Catching sight of her stirring, he paused his preparations and walked over to her, planting a gentle kiss on her forehead."Good morning," he muttered, a soft smile gracing his face."Good morning," she whispered, reaching out to touch his cheeks. He caught her hand and kissed it tenderly."How do you feel?" he asked, releasing her hand. Maya instinctively touched her body, then beamed up at him."Great.""I'm glad to hear that. I'm already leaving for my duties. The maids will come in soon to prepare you for the day. I've already instructed them. I'll see you in the evening.""Why evening?" "Turn around, get on all fours, and have your behind facing upwards," Dexter commanded, his voice stern.Maya complied, turning around and doing as she was told. Her backside raised high in the air, she waited for Devon, her heart pounding. She felt him caress her butt and she bit back a moan, already shivering in anticipation. Dexter leaned down to suck on her earlobes, his body pressing her down into the bed. "How do you want it?" He asked, his hands still drawing lazy circles on her behind. "Fast and hard, or very slow?" He asked, his voice dangerously calm. Maya swallowed, thinking about her options."H-how about both?" Maya muttered back, sucking in her lower lips. She felt Dexter hit her backside and she squirmed, her insides clenching at the surge of pain that coursed through her body."Now, you're just being greedy." He muttered, his voice harsh. Biting and sucking in her skin, Dexter continued to tease her, rubbing his hardened length on her wet folds. Maya whimpered, pushing

"Touch yourself again." Devon repeated and Maya's heart skipped a beat. She gulped, blinking rapidly. Why would he want her to do that? Still, she couldn't deny it felt almost exciting to try that in front of him. His gaze not leaving hers, Maya did as she was told. Very slowly, her hands inched between her thighs, her face burning even as she tried to appear unaffected."Spread your legs further." He commanded and Maya stiffened, her eyes flying open. Devon didn't move, no expression on his face as she spoke it. But she knew he meant it. Biting her lips, she spread her legs further, settling her fingers in between them, her blush growing down her body. Still reeling from her first orgasm, she started to touch herself, gasping at the sensation coursing through her body. With Dexter watching her, the act was even more erotic. It was almost too much to handle. The atmosphere was filled with sexual tension and no matter how hard Maya tried to minimize the pleasure she got from the act,

She placed them carefully before the queen. "According to the doctors, they advised me to brew a tea with these leaves. It is believed to prepare the body for pregnancy," Rosa concluded.Maya gazed at the herbs before her, taking them into her hands to examine them closely.
