Chapter 59: Loves you too much to harm you

"What is wrong with him," Ruth asked Gustave

"He is becoming a shadow of himself," Gustave replied and exited the ward

Ruth stood there for a while before exiting the hospital recalling the events from the previous night. She thought she had lost Nick.

She hailed a taxi to Cassandra's place. Her mind was occupied with deep thoughts as she sat silently at the back of the car. She still loves Nick but she didn't want to go back to the life of misery he subjected her to.

"We are here," said the driver

Ruth snapped out of her thought and exited the car after paying the driver. She headed for the front door. She stretched her hand to knock upon reaching there but before her hand could touch the door, it flung open and some people dressed in black from head to toe with only their eyes visible came out of the house pushing her to the ground.

They quickly hit the streets and were gone before Ruth could recover from the push. She rushed into the house to find Cassandra and her mother beaten
