Emelda had taken the underground tunnels when she ran out of the palace. As she was leaving, she had known that there was a possibility that she could get hurt because she was diving straight into a battle that she hadn’t prepared for but she couldn’t afford to remain back at the palace, especially since she had something to settle there in person.
Emelda was the only one who knew that King Cyrus could be saved and she was scared of the things that could go wrong if she wasn’t there in person to bring him back. she also wanted to make sure that the Lakewood people didn’t accidentally bury the body.
And so, against her better judgment, Emelda had run out of the palace and ran straight to the palace gates where the battle was already going on.
