After the wave of baby vamps we knew it was working, well at least the Ketet end of things. She knew we were here and she was testing us. I was in my wolf form, and per Hunter’s orders I was not to engage in or join the fight unless it directly affected Sunny. I was not allowed to get distracted and leave her out of my line of sight.

Axel however, was a wolf born to fight. Son of an Alpha … he didn’t give a fuck about Hunter’s rules, he was ready for a battle. He'd pledged to the Shadows just as I had, they were our pack to defend. That meant Sunny too.
