Chp 9 Pt. 1 The Angel’s Mate

“It would seem we are evenly matched. Let’s see if you can get to her before she dies.”
“Dies!? What have you done to her?! Who the fuck are you?”
“The name is Tristan and all I’ve done is drain her of her blood. It’s her blood I need, nothing more. You two can die here together,” he says as he sends a spell my way but I easily dodge it.
“It is you who will die here tonight!”
I manage to leave a large gash across his chest and he stumbles back in surprise as he attempts to strike me with a spell but he misses. I swipe at him again and leave another deep gash on his inner thigh. Before I can strike again he quickly portals away as well as his minions who follow him.
I don’t stop to question his cowardice and follow the scent of blood. It leads me to the basement where
