I follow Kai to father’s office. He has stacks of papers all over his desks and several books open. He normally isn’t so unorganized and messy. I have never seen his office look like this.
“Father?”
“Come in Kat, Kai.”
We both sit and wait for him to speak. It’s an awkward silence and I look over at Kai who just shrugs his shoulders. Father suddenly gets up from his desk and walks over to me. He pulls me up from out of my chair and hugs me. I hug him back as a tear falls, all the stress from recent events catching up to me.
