Chapter 3 Frantically Searching For Zombies

" Congratulations, host, for becoming an Awakened One."

When he heard the system’s words, Lucas York’s expression lit up with joy.

There was a huge difference between an Awakened One and an ordinary human being. Once you become an Awakened One, you would become a true fighter.

“Below is the host’s properties panel.

“Host: Lucas York.

“Age: 21.

“System: Super Fusion System.

“Realm: Level 1 Awakened One.

“Skills: None.

“Gene: Grade D.”

Lucas grinned in satisfaction. Even though he was just a Level 1 Awakened One, now that he had the system, his levels would be upgraded more quickly.

Even though he now had a Level 3 zombie, he knew that it was far from enough.

A Level 3 zombie was just an ordinary zombie, he needed to fuse more zombies.

This city had already been overtaken by zombies, and their numbers may be more than tens of thousands.

When he thought of that, Lucas’ expression lit up excitedly.

However, he was still unable to face a large wave of zombies. He would first need to strengthen himself and fuse more zombies.

"I'm sure that there are more than four zombies in this hospital, right?" Lucas mused out loud.

As soon as he finished speaking, Lucas left the hospital room, bringing the Level 3 zombie with him.

The lesser the stronger zombies, the rarer it was to encounter a high-level zombie. Never mind any mutant zombies that were Rank 1 or above.

Most of the zombies were Level 1 zombies!

The only reason Lucas left the hospital room was to search for more zombies.

“Argh!”

Lucas heard a horrifying shriek.

He knew that it came from a human being, and he quickly brought his Level 3 zombie along toward one of the hospital room’s doorway.

When he pushed the door open, he saw a few zombies that were devouring a doctor’s corpse.

It was a gut-wrenching scene!

There were both male and female zombies among them. When they saw Lucas, they surged toward him frantically.

“Awoo! Awoo!”

Lucas did not try to run. Instead, he let his Level 3 zombie fight these male and female zombies, throwing them onto the ground.

The six zombies had lost their combat abilities and were howling on the ground in pain.

“System, can I fuse male zombies with female zombies?”

“No, you can only fuse zombies of the same gender.”

Lucas nodded, and immediately, these zombies appeared in the boxes in Lucas’ mind.

All six of these zombies were Level 1 zombies. Lucas fused the four male Level 1 zombies into two Level 2 zombies.

Then he fused the two Level 1 female zombies into one Level 2 zombie.

Now, he had a Level 3 male zombie, two Level 2 male zombies, and a Level 2 female zombie.

Lucas then fused the two Level 2 male zombies into another Level 3 male zombie.

Now, he had two Level 3 male zombies.

Without any hesitation, Lucas fused the two Level 3 zombies into a Level 4 zombie.

Lucas’ expression was beyond excited. It would not be long before he would be able to fuse a mutant zombie.

Ding…

“Congratulations, host, you have obtained a treasure chest! Do you want to open it?”

“Yes!”

Lucas did not hesitate at all.

“Congratulations, host, you have obtained a cleaver.

“Congratulations, host, you have obtained a virus vaccine.

“Congratulations, host, you have obtained a crate of food."

Lucas’ eyes lit up. The items he had obtained from the treasure chest this time were pretty good.

He claimed the cleaver, and a cool glow shone, the sharp knife appearing in his hand.

The virus vaccine was the best item he could ask for. With this vaccine, he would never have to be afraid of turning into a zombie.

As for the food!

Lucas was so busy being happy that he had completely forgotten about his thirst and hunger.

He opened the crate hurriedly, finding milk and bread inside.

Lucas gobbled them up frantically. It was good enough that he managed to stay alive in an apocalyptic world, he could not be bothered with how he looked while he ate.

Soon after that, he had finished all the milk and bread.

Lucas patted his belly, relishing the feeling of a full stomach.

Now that he was full and his thirst was quenched, he had to continue looking for zombies to fuse.

This was a big hospital, there was no way that there would only be so few zombies.

Lucas brought along his Level 4 male zombie, and his Level 2 female zombie, and began searching for more zombies.
