After she showered, she and Stella chatted while she made herself more presentable & they finished unpacking. She had learned that Stella was the middle child between 2 brothers. Her younger brother would start at the academy next year. Her mother's name was Marion & her Father was Howard. Her mother was the daughter of a Scottish Alpha. Her parents were friendly with the Alpha King & he visited their pack whenever he went to the UK on business.
She said that though her parents were on friendly terms with the Alpha King, she was sure the friendly part was more or less her parents because the Alpha King wasn't very friendly. When Maeva asked her what he was like she had said he was cold, intimidating & seemed to live in a state of constant annoyance. But surely he couldn't be that bad if he created the academy right?
Once they had finished unpacking, Stella offered to show her around, which she happily accepted. Stella took her out the back exit of the building where they walked into a courtyard. As David had told her earlier, the courtyard connected to 3 other buildings which were used to house the Alphas, Betas & Gammas. They walked the path on the left that led to the Alpha dorms. They came to a fork in the path & took the right path which led to a moderately sized gazebo where 7 people were seated.
"Hello everyone, this is my new roommate Maeva, Maeva this is everyone." Stella said waving her hand towards the group. She noticed that the group consisted of 3 mated couples, An Alpha & Luna, & 2 Beta couples. The other Alpha was unmated. She smiled & waved at them.
"Maeva is a first year, I assume we've been roomed together because we're in the same type of hybrid program, & yes you heard me right. Maeva is a first year in a hybrid program even though Headmaster wouldn't let me do a hybrid program last year." She told them folding her arms across her chest.
"Don't pout Stella, it's quite unbecoming of you," the blonde Alpha smirked. She assumed he was Stella's older brother as they shared the same grey-blue eyes though their hair was different hues of blonde. He was definitely easy on the eyes, though she didn't allow her eyes to linger on him long. His mate & future Luna was a petite girl much like herself with long loosely curled strawberry blonde hair & sparkling green eyes. She had a natural, simple beauty about her that made you feel completely at ease.
"Hello Maeva, I'm Katie & This is Eddie. That's Henry & Marianne." The future Luna said to her pointing at the Beta couple. He was tall & muscular, with light brown skin almost the same hue as her own. He had chocolate eyes with neatly faded hair. His mate had hair so dark it was nearly black & light brown eyes with slight freckles & perfect plump lips. Her long dark hair hung in a side pony that reached just past her left breast.
"Those two are Johnny & Amber, & that's Dimitri, since Stella didn't bother with names." She told her pointing to the others. She gave a warm welcoming smile as Maeva gave them all a glance over. The American beta was built like a wall of muscle with short dark brown hair, and dark brown eyes to match. He gave her a nod as she glanced him over which she returned before glancing over his mate. She was another simple beauty. She had wavy shoulder length light brown hair & hazel eyes. The Alpha, Dimitri, was quite the eye candy. His short messy black hair only complemented his sparkling sky blue eyes & tanned skin. He had the perfect sized muscles in all the right places.
As she glanced him over she felt his eyes raking her body over as well, but she stubbornly refused to feel embarrassed. When their eyes met he gave her a flirtatious smirk, and she knew that unless he happened to find his mate this year, he would be hers if she wanted him. As if she had been flirting with boys her entire life, her body acted on impulse & gave him a flirty, eyelash batting grin.
"Don't bother to thank me. That is a nice piece of man meat.." Gia purred in her head.
"I wasn't going to. Actually, if you could not make me look like a horny she-wolf, that would be great," she internally rolled her eyes at her wolf.
"So your in the warrior program Maeva? What are you like 5ft, 100lbs? What is a tiny thing like you doing in the warrior program?" Dimitri asked her with a cocky smirk.
"I may be just a tiny thing to you ALPHA," she stressed the word, "But, rest assured I could knock you out & break that handsome jaw of yours without even breaking a sweat, AND I could do it in under 60 seconds." She told him with a innocent smile.
The rest of the group laughed at her answer, while Dimitri just stared at her curiously. She hoped he wouldn't try to challenge her & make her prove that she meant everything she had said. Regardless, she wouldn't back down from him. She held his stare with her own refusing to submit. She felt when he pushed his aura on her in an attempt to force her to submit, but she would not. Not this time, not anymore.
It was her turn to throw him a cocky smirk of her own as she felt his aura grow heavier. She knew everyone could feel it radiating from him, aimed specifically at her, but she couldn't feel it's weight. She could feel the power he radiated, sure, but as far as the weight of that power, it was essentially non-existent to her. If she were any other wolf, or even a regular Alpha wolf, the weight of his aura would have her on her knees with her neck lowered in submission, as he was a quite powerful Alpha. But she wasn't any other wolf, & she was not going to submit to him.
She was surprised when he suddenly pulled his aura back in. He stared quizzically at her, as though she was some math problem that he had no clue how to solve. She noticed that though some members of the group had let out the breaths they were holding, they had all gone silent. They were all either staring at her or in mindlink conversations amongst themselves.
She suddenly felt a large amount of power radiating from behind her, & could feel it moving closer to her. She didn't need to turn around or listen for who it was though, because she already knew. The Headmaster was the only wolf on the territory who radiated power that strongly. She wondered if the others could feel it, but with a quick glance around she knew they couldn't. He was on the edge of the courtyard stopped, & when she listened closely she heard him tell whoever he had been speaking with that he would see them around, before walking into the courtyard.
She turned around & saw that the path veered out of view.
"The Headmaster is coming this way," she whispered quietly enough so that he wouldn't hear her, but the group she was in the gazebo with could. With that, their mindlink conversations stopped and they were all looking between her & the path. When they couldn't see him or hear his footsteps they all looked at her as if she was crazy. But she knew her hearing was much better than theirs. They brushed her off and went back to their conversations. Stella was in a mindlink with her brother & his Beta, while Katie, Amber & Marianne were having a discussion about the fall formal. Dimitri & His Beta were also in a mindlink conversation.
"Welome back my favorite Alphas & Betas." The Headmaster's cheery voice boomed from the pathway as he stepped into view. She watched as the girls turned their head towards the path & the others eyes cleared indicating that they had come out of their mindlink conversations. As the Headmaster walked closer to the gazebo she could feel as each member of the group glanced her way.
"Maeva! I can see Stella has introduced you to her clique," he said as he stepped into the gazebo with them, "these ones are a good lot, I'm sure you've found them quite welcoming. And who knows, maybe you'll get a chance to teach these young men how to really put up a fight." He said with a deep boisterous chuckle.
"Maeva here is quite the warrior gentlemen. She took out Haines with 2 moves in under 30 seconds. It was both comical & impressive. Stella, you stick with Maeva, watch her fight & learn from her. The two of you will be my top 2 warriors at this time next year. Mark my words," he was speaking to the group but smiling at her proudly.
"Thank you Headmaster," she spoke as she lowered her head slightly to show her respect. She smiled at him as she looked up & he nodded at her with a smile.
"Well, I just wanted to come out here & welcome some of my favorite students back, I'll get out of your hair & let you kids get back to it." He told them as he walked through the gazebo shaking the guys hands before walking out and down another pathway.
As soon as the Headmaster was out of their line of sight they all turned their eyes on her. "How did you know he was coming?" Dimitri asked her accusingly. "I could just sense him, he's the most powerful wolf on the campus," she shrugged. "Well, obviously. He's the King's Beta so he bears his mark. He's literally the 2nd most powerful wolf in the world." Dimitri rolled his eyes at her. She wasn't sure why but his eye roll irritated her. She was undoubtedly smarter than him, but yet he was talking to her as though she was stupid, & that really got under her skin. Was this what a friendship with him would be like? She decided it was her turn to irritate him right back. Sure he could dish it out, but she was about to find out if he could it as well. "Oh, I see. So kinda like you? I mean your the 2nd most most powerful Alpha on campus right? And that power gap is significant, but I suppose that's because the mate bond makes us stronger & you haven'
She finished dinner with David & his friends before excusing herself to her room. She managed to look over her welcome folder, her class schedule, & shower before the floor meeting at 8. When she came out of the shower wrapped in one of the fluffy towels that the school had stocked in the cabinet, Stella was sitting on her bed next to her own shower products scrolling through her phone. "You ditched us for your Omega friend at dinner," She said nonchalantly glancing up from her phone. "David's been my friend for as long as I can remember. Technically I would have been ditching him for you guys if I would've stayed." She answered walking to her closet. At that Stella jumped up from her bed & followed her, standing just outside the door as she dried off & put her pajamas off. "I think Dimitri was offended by it, but he was really the only one who minded. I personally think it was very cool. Any other wolf would hang out with the high rank kids given the chance. Yo
*Beep, Beep, Beep* "Bloody Hell that's the most annoying sound!" Stella cried as she pulled a pillow over her face. Maeva giggled from her own bed before throwing her feet over the side & standing to stretch. You had your morning people, you had your night owls, & then there was Maeva. She was neither, yet both. It didn't matter what time of day it was, she was alert & ready to take on whatever. Today however, it was pure excitement that fueled her. She couldn't wait to start her classes & train with the warriors. She only hoped that she would continue to make friends as she met different people. She and Stella showered and prepared for their day. The assembly would be in the auditorium, so it would take them about 15 minutes to walk there. The assembly would last an hour and a half, & they were instructed to wear thier uniforms. Their morning training would be cut short, starting at 10 instead of the usual 8am. But, they would have time to go back to their rooms a
They all made their way out of the auditorium, all of the students laughing & talking about the school year they were starting. Many of the unmated females made eyes at Dimitri before glaring at Maeva who was walking next to him. Though she was pretending to ignore her, Maeva could hear Andy speaking loudly about her as she exited the building. She was telling the other girls not to be jealous because Maeva isn't anything special, that she was just a "mid-rank skank." She could feel Dimitri's eyes on her as she took a deep breath & rolled her eyes. She wouldn't let Andy get to her & get her kicked out of the academy before the school year even started. She could hear the other girls laughing, asking why she was hanging out with a high ranked clique & Andy was telling them that Stella must've felt sorry for her since she had been stuck sharing a room with her this school year. She had even gone as far as to indicate that Maeva must have done some "special favors" for the Headmaster to g
Dimitri POV "AH FUCK!" I couldn't help but scream. The shooting pain that went down my arm and across my chest was almost unbearable. But the embarrassment of my pain was worth it when she laughed. She was easily the most beautiful girl I'd ever seen & her smile was memorizing. I'd barely had time to register that she told me my knee would hurt worse than my shoulder did before she was straddling me. My breath caught in my throat as she scooted herself up closer to me, & before I could stop myself, my eyes darted to her beautiful deep red luscious lips. I breathed in her scent of melted caramel & my mouth immediately began to water. I can't help but wonder if she tastes as good as she smells. Having her on top of me, being this close to her mouth with her scent enveloping me was intoxicating. I wanted her, bad. Sure she had just kicked my ass like it was nothing, but for me, it just added to her appeal. Tiny she-wolves like her were usually fragile little creatures, b
Stella POV One by one everyone went up against Maeva, & each time she'd won. After her 4th knock out her opponents started tapping as soon as they'd hit the ground. Each time she would land a devastating blow Eddie would squeeze my shoulder. I noticed that she kept the advantage by using her feet. Whereas most of the guys were apprehensive about her fighting skills, I couldn't help but be completely astonished by her. Her skills were unlike anything I had ever seen before. My brother had been the only one of her opponents who had lasted more than 5 minutes, but even still, she had managed to take him down. Though she had done it alot easier than the others, she still told him to tap as she took him to the ground. He complied, knowing she didn't want to hurt him any more than she already had. He told her how exceptional she was as she helped him up, and he wasn't wrong. There wasn't an Alpha or warrior student that could stand against her. The Deltas had saved the female
Maeva POV As Stella walked away nervousness began to take me over. I suddenly wasn't sure what to say or how to act. David was the only guy I'd ever been alone with willingly & he was just a friend. I had no idea what I was supposed to do around a guy I liked. As I thought about it images of being alone with Gamma Clay started coming to the forefront of my mind, & suddenly I was sinking. My stomach felt as though an anchor had been placed in it & my lungs were burning as though there was no air for them to take in. "Maeva, Maeva!" Dimitri was shouting while he shook me. "Yea, what is it? What's wrong?" I asked him as he shook me back from the depths. "Are you OK? What happened?" He asked me, his face full of concern, as he ran his thumb under my eye slowly. "What do you mean? I'm right here. I haven't moved," I answered confused. He looked at me curiously as he ran his other thumb under my other eye. "Maeva, love, you zoned out on me. You we
Ronan POV Maeva Thompson. Something was different about her, something special. I couldn't quite put my finger on it though. Yea, she's a highly skilled warrior, possibly the best I've seen this century, but there was something more. I felt pushed to protect her, compelled to keep her safe & happy. I know it's not a mate bond pull, I don't see her that way. But she had quickly become one of my favorite students, & I would protect her at all costs. Seeing her in Dimitri's arms standing in the dinner line angered me, though not in a possessive manner. I suppose I was more afraid that she would open her heart to him, only to have it broken when he found his mate. He's almost 19, & an Alpha. Though he had become impatient when it came to finding his mate, he would find her, & Maeva's pure teenage heart would be broken when she lost him. "Maeva, Alpha Dimitri, how are the 2 of you this evening?" I asked them. I suppose I was glaring at Dimitri as he stood there with his a
Azak "Let's go everyone! We are going to be late for the party!" I shouted up the stairs from the foyer. Today was the Timekeeper twins sixteenth birthday and the Wolf King and Queen were throwing them a massive party to celebrate. I knew Crysanthi was doing her best to wrangle our three children so we would make it on time, but as it stood, we were already going to be late. Our oldest daughter, Daisy, came running down the steps with her little sister Rose in tow. I could hear my beautiful light upstairs rushing our youngest, Gin, to hurry him up. My boy preferred to do things on his own time, but today was not his day, it was Harmony and Hunter's day, so his mother was rushing him. A few seconds later the two of them appeared at the top of the stairs just before Crysanthi gripped his should and disappeared in a flash of bright pink. Our girls knew well enough by now to know that that was their signal to grab onto me so the three of us could portal out to the party as well, so th
Crysanthi Our peace had been hard won over the past year, but as I sat in the gardens with my light, I knew every bit of it was worth it. He had spent the day gathering fruits and vegetables from the gardens so that we would have plenty of them for Rayan's cooking class tonight. Us Royals still got together every week for dinner to keep in touch, only now Rayan and Genevieve showed up with baby Heidi in tow, usually with Rayan carrying her carseat. She was a precious little wide eyed princess, always so curious and wanting to look around at everything. Tonight Rayan was going to teach us all to cook, though Genevieve would probably spend the evening holding her pup and watching on. But she didn't particularly need to learn to cook, since Rayan was her mate after all. Ember and Fioré had grown closer over the months, and within the next couple of months the dragon Timekeeper princess would come of age and become a Queen herself, just as Genevieve and I had. Then she coul
Crysanthi The weeks flew by as the summer season blossomed. Azak and I had spent much of our time enjoying the summer castle, with him exploring every inch, nook and cranny with me. I wanted to memorize it, as it had been my family home for centuries before I had even been thought of. We spent many evenings in the graveyard Grove under the shade of my deceased loved ones. It had been the perfect reprieve from the war that we were currently in the middle of. Ember and Fioré had stayed in the Elven Kingdom, refusing to leave the new princess unprotected. They didn't want the elves to suffer the same fate that their own people had. Many of the other dragons had joined them as well. Our alliance was paying off quite nicely for everyone involved. Even as the dragons migrated to the Elven Kingdom, their own kingdom was slowly being rebuilt. The elves had even stepped up to help to show their gratitude for having the dragons protecting their princess. Everything was calm and
Azak As the baby's high pitched screams echoed through the hallways, the dark forces began falling to their knees and grabbing at their ears. I took the opportunity to scorch them all as they squealed and hissed, ensuring that if the high pitched noise didn't finish them off, the flames would. Once the flames had died down I felt Crysanthi strongly through our bond, and knew she was right around the corner. When she turned it, I saw that she had the Queen and the Timekeeper Princess in tow. She had to speak loudly, but she told me that she thought we should work our way through the castle with the baby since her cries were dropping the dark forces and I agreed. So we worked our way through the entire castle until we came to the front where the underwater battle continued to rage on. It didn't take long before my little light was using her water magic to create a fifty foot air bubble in the ocean, effectively allowing the princess's cries to reach the sirens and water
Crysanthi It was only a few days after the battle with the dark covens when we received the news that the Atlantian Timekeeper Princess had been born. Azak and I were ecstatic to hear that there had been no issues with her delivery and that all was quiet on the ocean front for now. Fortunately we had been spending the summer in my birth castle which sat just off the coast of the Atlantian Kingdom. So, we decided to take a day to go visit the new princess and offer our support however possible. I was quite excited to meet her, as I had never actually held or even known a baby before. We had arranged to have the water fae warriors set up on the coast line for the time being, just incase the dark forces decided to make a play at attempting to kidnap the new princess. Rayan and Genevieve had even sent some wolf warriors and a coven of witches that were skilled in water magic. We suspected that if a play were to be made, it would be by freaks with water magic. Atleast tha
Azak The next few days passed without incident. Crysanthi and I spent all our time in the Royal suite, enjoying our one on one time since we had gotten very little of it since officially claiming one another. But I suppose all good things must come to end. I watched her portal away without so much as an explanation, as she was coming back from the ensuite bathroom. I began feeling for her through the bond immediately, but it didn't take long before she popped in right infront of me panicked. "Call Rayan, get them to the werecat kingdom now. They're under attack. They didn't want to bother Genevieve with her being so close to her due date, but it's a couple covens of dark witches. They need our help. I'm going to portal Ember to the Elven Kingdom to watch over Queen Eidi. Grab Fioré and follow me. NOW AZAK!" She rambled out. I grabbed my phone off the night stand and followed her out of the suite. I called Rayan as we walked quickly down the stairs to the suite that Ember and Fiore
Crysanthi I woke up to Genevieve and Ember giggling like school girls as they sat on the couch eating their breakfast. When I turned to glare at them they both giggled even more as they sat eating fresh fruit and smoked fish. "Wake up sleepy head. Today you become a Queen!" Genevieve squealed joyfully. She was more excited for me than I was, but I allowed her joy to rub off on me as I jumped out of bed to join them. No doubt Azak had let them in, I'm sure he was quite excited about today's events as well. "I doubt that my coronation will be near as exciting as yours, but I'm ready I suppose." I told them as I sat on the chair across from them. "Wait, what happened at yours?" Ember asked Genevieve curiously with a giggle. "I may or may not have melted the brains of the entire werewolf council. It's no big deal or anything though. They had it coming for plotting against their monarchs." Genevieve answered her casually. Ember's eyes grew wide as she stared at Genevieve causin
Azak Once we had gotten the mess cleaned up from the fight, I had the staff immediately begin decorating for the pup shower that Crysanthi wanted to throw for Genevieve. All of our guests were fine after the battle, and excited for the shower. Genevieve had definitely made her mark on all of us, so it was nice to be able to show our appreciation by doing this for her. I knew I personally would never be able to thank her for handling Lila for me, as I knew I never would have been able to. She had payed back the debt she owed Crysanthi ten times over. But I also knew that Genevieve didn't see it that way. As far as she was concerned, she was just doing her duty as a Timekeeper Queen to regulate the balance of the light and dark. I was also quite happy for her and Rayan, and I wanted to show them how much they were appreciated with this shower. So, I went through, double checking everything from the decorations to the food to ensure that they would enjoy this shower tha
Crysanthi When I jumped back into my body it was late at night and Azak was smiling at me from outside the cell door. I smiled back at him, but my smile immediately faltered when I realized that I smelled like piss. Apparently the version of me that had jumped into my body thought it would be funny to piss herself instead of using the toilet and sink combo that was in the cell for that specific reason. "It was a freak Timekeeper Queen from dimension 5. She thought it would be hilarious to make me watch you piss yourself, and I ofcourse wasn't dumb enough to open the cell to stop her or try to change your clothes my light." Azak spoke softly when he saw that I had noticed my appearance. All I could do was nod my head at his words as I stood up to be let out of the cell. He obliged and unlocked the door for me. I didn't speak a word as I walked up both sets of stairs to our suite to shower. I knew I shouldn't be embarrassed, as it was not me who committed such an embarrassing act, b
