So, what now? Do I just let this keep going and wait for Kar to marry someone else or do I tell him how I feel and wait to see what he says? Lex was now more confused than ever and Kar was the last person she could go to about it. So, Lex did what she always does and put her journal down, shut off the light, and tried to go back to sleep. But this time it was different. She woke up as Aeden.

“Can’t sleep again. God, I hate this. And I’m freaking sweating again, Dammit! What is going on?” So Aeden got up to check the thermostat. It was at 65, there was no reason for her to be this hot. And of course, Dean was bundled up. So, she knew for sure it was cold in the room. Maybe a cold shower would work. It cooled her down and calmed her nerves, but when she got out she had a very odd nudging feeling that something was different. So, she went to look in the mirror and got the shock of a lifetime.

The face staring back at her was her face but much younger and there was something different about her eyes. They had a feint glow and the middle of her chest was shining. Aeden quickly looked down to find nothing but her chest, normal skin with all her freckles. She looked back up and the image hadn’t changed. She was still all shiny.

“What the Hell is wrong with this mirror?” Aeden said.

“What is she talking about? The mirror is fine. What’s wrong with her?” Lex said.

“What the Fuck?” Aeden exclaimed.

“Gosh she is so weird! And what does that mean? I mean she’s technically me so how come I don’t understand what’s going on with her?” Lex asked herself.

“What do you mean, ‘she’s technically me’? I’m not some shiny teenager! I’m a 28-year-old woman!” Aeden said.

“What does she mean shiny? We’re not shiny! Wait…Can you hear me Aeden?” Lex asked.

“How do you know my name? Who the Hell are you?” Aeden asked.

“I’m Alexis of Haven. And I’m you, well in my dream I’m you.” Lex said.

“Alexis…You’re me in your dream?” Aeden asked.

“Yes, but what do you mean Shiny? You look normal to me. Well your version of normal and I’m 17 not a ‘teenager’, whatever that means.” Lex explained.

“It means you’re not a child but not an adult yet. And what do you mean by ‘my version of normal’?” Aeden asked.

“I mean that I look a little different than you. Your eyes are flat and you have no Core. And you’re full of little sacks of stuff and blood.” Lex explained.

“Sacks of stuff? Do you mean my organs? And of course, I have blood. It’s my life force. And what’s a Core?” Aeden asked.

“It’s what you would call a ‘ball of energy’ in the middle of my chest and it’s my life force. I guess blood would be what keeps my skin alive but I have no ‘organs’. I told you I’m different than you.” Said Lex.

“So, you’re a teenager with glowing eyes and a shiny ball of energy in your chest?” Aeden said.

“By your standards yes that’s what I am.” Lex said.

“Then it’s you I see in the mirror. And you said this was a dream?” Aeden asked.

“Yea. Every night for the past month I fall asleep and start to have a dream within a dream and ‘puff’ I’m you.” Lex said.

“A month huh? Well I guess I know where the hot flashes are coming from. If you’re in my body I can probably feel the heat your ‘Core’ gives off.” Aeden said.

“That sounds reasonable.” Lex said.

“Actually, it all sounds crazy but it explains a lot. Hmm, I guess the psychic was right. I’m two people at the same time but not the same place.” Aeden said.

“What’s a ‘psychic’?” Lex asked.

“It’s hard to explain. Never mind. So, what do you do when you’re me?” Aeden asked.

“I watch through your eyes.” Lex said.

“You just watch?” Aeden asked.

“Yea, well I learn too. I mean everything is different for you, except Dean.” Lex said.

“What do you mean ‘except Dean’?” Aeden asked.

“Well, I know someone that I guess is Dean, like you are me. His name is Karsix, He’s a prince.” Lex explained.

“And is he your husband? A prince huh, well Dean is a movie star which kinda makes him royalty.” Aeden said.

“No, Karsix is my best friend. But I wish he was my mate.” Lex said.

“You’re ‘Mate’?” Aeden asked.

“It’s my equivalent to a husband.” Lex said.

“Oh. Well why isn’t he your ‘mate’?” Aeden asked.

“Because he’s royalty and I don’t even know if he cares for me like that and I’m not of age to marry. Only he is. He’s 21 in my world. That makes him a fully grown ‘adult’.” Lex said.

“Huh, well if he’s anything like Dean than he loves you no matter what, and more than just best friends. Can you not marry him because he’s royalty?” Aeden asked.

“Actually, it doesn’t matter that he’s a prince. That’s not what decides things. I would have to ask him to mate with me and he would have to except and then we would be married by his parents.” Lex said.

“OK, I still don’t see why you haven’t asked him.” Aeden said.

“I already told you! I don’t know if he cares! And I’m not of marrying age!” Lex said.

“All right Calm Down! Why are your eyes and core changing color? And do you have to be 21 to ask?” Aeden asked.

“Changing color…. Are they darkening?” Lex asked.

“Yes, turning black actually.” Aeden said.

“Sorry, when we get angry our core and eyes turn black.” Lex explained.

“OK, cause that’s normal. Do they change different colors with all of your emotions?” Aeden asked.

“Yes and No. The emotion has to be strong and lasting. I’m not sure what all of the colors are. Some I haven’t experienced yet.” Lex said.

“Good to know. But back to Kar, do you have to be 21 as well?” Aeden persisted.

“Well my mom was 17 but she knew my dad loved her.” Lex said.

“How did your mom know? Did your dad tell her?” Aeden asked.

“No. Men aren’t supposed to tell their feelings. At least not until the woman tells. They get looked down on by men and women if they do.” Lex said.

“Huh. Well that’s pretty normal for us too. Hmm…well you’re just going to have to tell him then. It’s the only way. And that’s how Dean and I ended up together.” Aeden said.

“I remember.” Lex said.

“How do you remember, when I never told you?” Aeden asked.

“Because every time you watch the stars together you think about the first time you went on a date with him. You knew it was ‘love at first sight’. But he only notices the stars, or so you thought. You were wearing a pair of teardrop sapphire earrings that caught the starlight in just the right way. He saw you before you saw him and that’s what he told you when you told him you loved him.” Lex said.

“That’s right. But how do you know that and now I have to explain everything to you?” Aeden asked.

“That was the first thing I learned about you both. And today something different happened. I had the normal dream with you and learned that you’re a writer, and it pays good, that Dean is a Director/Producer/Actor, and that food is what you use to re-energize yourself. Then I woke up and wrote about it in my journal, then I went to sleep again and now I’m having my second dream with you which isn’t normal. I usually have one dream a night about you and that’s it.” Lex said.

“I see. So, what now?” Aeden asked.

“I don’t know. I just want to sleep so I can re-energize and I can’t do that when I’m in your head. I end up tossing and turning all night thinking about the dream and then I have to get up.” Lex said.

“Well do you usually wake up when I go to sleep?” Aeden asked.

“Yes. But I don’t know if that will work this time.” Lex said.

“Well let’s try it. Cause I’m tired too.” Aeden said.

So Aeden went back to bed. When she laid down Dean put his arm around her and she was out within minutes. And so was Lex. Lex didn’t dream for the rest of that night. And when she woke up, she was in her bed, in her room, by herself. But she could still feel Dean’s arm around her. And she could recall her entire conversation with Aeden. Which she quickly wrote in her journal. Then she went and looked in the mirror and what she saw was that her eyes were glowing a little brighter than they had been. And her Core was shining.

“Well it’s about damn time.” She told her reflection. That was odd but at the same time very helpful. I think it’s time I talked to Kar. I miss him and well, Aeden said if he’s anything like Dean he’ll love me no matter what. Now to find something to wear. As Lex went through her clothes she didn’t hear the voices downstairs. Or the footsteps coming towards her room. Just as she was done washing she heard the light knock on her door. She called, to who she thought was her mother, to let her know she was dressing and would be out in a minute. The voice that responded startled Lex so much that she tripped and fell onto her bed with a very lou

Shex and Mera were outside and around the corner so they saw Lex and Kar leave together. They turned and smiled at each other, knowing that they would be alright. But they still needed to get to the Hall of Records so that they could research Lex’s dreams to find a connection between them and her energy drain. They talked amongst themselves and decided that they also needed to figure out if Kar was having dreams as well and if he was, why they weren’t draining his energy. At the Hall of Records, they searched for hours to find the right scrolls. Once they had it took another couple of hours to find the scroll that talked about the dreams. There were at least 6 different scrolls that mentioned the dreams and 12 more that went more into depth about the dreams and the dreamers. They decided to divide the scrolls that had the most information about the dreamers. Shex had the two that talked about the “Male Descendant” and Mera had the two that talked about the “Female Descendant

Lex and Kar didn’t notice their mothers or much of anything as they walked in silence. Lex was trying to figure out what to say to Kar and Kar was letting her figure it out. He owed her that much. He had been horrible to her and he needed to make it up to her. As he was thinking of ways to make her happy with him again an idea started to form. Maybe now was the time to tell her about his dreams and then she would share hers. It might make things better and show her that he does care for her. So instead of heading to the castle and the roof Kar changed directions and headed for the stables. Riding always made Lex relaxed and happy. Lex noticed Kar’s new direction and smiled to herself. He was taking her riding; he only did this when he wanted to talk without anyone else around. He would hopefully take her to her favorite spot. She missed being there with him. She had been there a few times without Kar and it just wasn’t the same. She could almost smell the grass, feel the wat

Well, this is it. You’ll finally get to learn how to fix a car. And not just any car, a 1964 ½ Ford Mustang, swoon. As she approached the garage door her hand shook a little. She had been dreaming of taking this class since she first saw a mustang. Having her dad fill her head with stories of fixing and racing sports cars himself only added to her longing to learn. It was a way to feel closer to him again. Upon walking through the door way, she noticed the Professor/Mechanic sitting at a desk full of parts. There were guys at different ends of the garage, all working on different projects. She looked at her course paperwork again to find the Professors name and then walked over to him.

Aeden, Brenda, Jake, and Tess were standing in front of the Astronomy class waiting for the door to be opened. Aeden was leaning against the rail with her back turned to the corridor, Jake was standing directly in front of her, Tess had her back against the railing facing Brenda. This is how they would usually huddle in their little group. As they were talking Jake got very distracted by something behind Aeden. Aeden elbowed Brenda and Tess, they all looked at Jake and then Brenda and Tess looked behind them. They all just stood there gawking. So Aeden finally turned around to see what had their attention. And there he was, Dean Ibario, walking up to their group. Aeden rolled her eyes and turned back around. Brenda, Jake, and Tess all noticed how Aeden seemed to have no interest, which of course piqued their interest. “Not cute enough?” Jake asked. “Too cute?” Tess asked. “Do you know him?” Brenda asked. “That’s Dean Ibario from my mechanics class. “Hey Aeden, Dean’s watching you.” Jake said. “He is not. He’s probably just trying to remember where he parked his car.” Aeden said. “You’re kidding right? He stayed right next to you the whole time he was with our group. He looked like leaving your side was painful when he had to go talk to Chase’s group.” Tess said. “And even then, he kept looking up every once in a while, to see where our group was.” Brenda said. “I think you guys are reading way too much into this. He may have been near me all night but all he talked about was the lecture and the assignments that would be based on tonight.” Aeden said. “Then why is he walking this way like he’s got something on his mind and he only wants to talk to you about it?” Brenda said. “U huh sure.” Aeden said as she rolled her eyes. “Hey, Aeden, can I talk to you for a minute?” Dean asked as he walked up to the group. “Sure.” Aeden said as she turned to see her friends givin

Once it was finished I moved out.” Aeden said. “And about a year later Aeden had her first stalker and had the wall and guard station built.” Jordan said.

Lex sighed and ate another apple before explaining. “The first time I was able to communicate with Aeden was when she looked into a mirror and saw my reflection. It scared her and she asked who the hell was I. At that point I realized I couldn't hear her thinking like I usually did and that she was actually talking to and seeing me. Since that time, we have talked to each other through a mirror. The first time Kar talked to Dean was also through a mirror, earlier today.” “Oh.” Shex and Mera said. They looked as if they were fascinated and scared all at the same time. “What's wrong?” Lex asked. “Nothing.” They both said. “Really? You know we can tell when you two are hiding something from us right?” Kar said. “And that it upsets me when you do.” Lex added. With a long look and a sigh Mera finally said, “There has been nothing in the Histories about being able to See your Other. We aren't even sure how they communicated with

“I think Karsix was trying to contact me again before you went into the bedroom.” Dean said. “Oh really? Maybe I should try to contact Lex and see what was up?” Lex asked. “Yea. You see if she knows what he wanted, if not I'll try to get a hold of Kar.” Dean said. So Aeden went into the bathroom to see if she could talk with Lex. “Lex, I need to talk to you.” Aeden said to her reflection. Lex felt the familiar nudge and quickly went up to her bedroom to find a mirror. “I Aeden.” Lex said holding the hand mirror up and looking at Aeden. “HI. How are you feeling?” Aeden asked. “Good, you?” Lex asked. “I'm good, tired but you know, Dean said he talked to Kar today.” Aeden said. “Yea, Kar told me. Is Dean ok? I know it was hard for both of us when this started.” Lex said. “He's good. He was wondering why Kar wanted to talk to him earlier? We needed some alone time.” Aeden said smiling. “Oh, Kar just wanted t

“So, what do I say next time he, Kar, talks to me? And do you know when Lex is there?” Dean asked Aeden. “I’m not really sure. He should definitely apologize first and it needs to be sincere. It can’t just be an ‘I’m sorry I fucked up but I don’t really know why.’ And yes, I know when Lex is there.” Aeden said. “How? How do you know when she is there?” Dean asked. “It’s like a weird nudge in my brain. Not a headache or pressure or anything. It’s really hard to explain…………. It’s kind of like when you touch my temple, its light but it’s on the inside.” Aeden explained. “Huh, I don’t think I’ve ever felt anything like that before. I also wasn’t trying to feel it though.” Dean said. “Well, maybe you should pay more attention.” Aeden said. She could feel the anger rising again. OK, what did Lex say again? When Aeden looked in the mirror while she was “there” she could talk to her. Alright dude, go look in the mirror. I really, really need to talk to you. Come on!! We are connected, I’m not sure how but basically, I’m you in a different world. Like a parallel universe. Are wives are also. Lex told me that she and Aeden talk this way so I figured it would work the same with us. Sorry to spring this on you man but I need your help.” Kar explained. “I think I’ve had too many.” Dean said and splashed some water on his face. “No, you haven’t, trust me, I know how this sounds but if you ask your wife after we talk then you’ll understand.” Kar said. “OK, I’ll bi

When Aeden woke up the morning of her class with Dean she was calm. She had made her peace with what had happened and had decided to just let him go. She knew it might hurt for a while but like everything else she had lost in her life it would be forgotten. She kept telling herself that she needed to relax and act like nothing had happened, it was the only way she would get through the class. She also kept saying that the first day is always the hardest. So, she got up, got dressed, had her breakfast and grabbed her books. When she got to the garage she stopped and looked at her cars. Aeden owned every Ford Mustang body style there was. Each one was in the original color for its year and all were running. Her favorite was the 1964 ½ Cherry Red Original Mustang. It was the first of the line and she had found it in a junk yard and had it restored. Taking the restoration class at the college was how she first saw Dean. He had been in the class as a student so she didn't get to talk to

Dean didn’t know what to do. He sort of understood why talking about her ‘finances’, as Aeden had put it, would upset her. But he didn’t think it was really as big of a deal as she was making it out to be. He knew he had to get her to talk to him again. When he saw her last night, something had changed for him. He had always noticed her but watching her looking at the stars had been different, it was like he was finally really seeing her and he never wanted to see anyone else. He knew in that moment that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her and then he had blown it. She was so mad at him she had left him by himself at dinner and then wouldn’t talk to him on the way back to her house. Normally he would talk to a couple of his friends and then make a decision but this time he needed to talk to just his best f
