Chapter 4

The Next morning.

Kate woke up with a sore back

"Damn! The floor is so hard...it's like I slept on a rock " Kate whined 

"You asked to sleep on the floor" Natalia replied from the kitchen 

"Whatchu you making?" Kate said walking to the kitchen

"Breakfast" 

"Yeah I mean what meal?"  

"I'm making bacon and eggs, you want some?" Nat asked

"Of course...it smells yummy, I'll go take a shower" Kate said and leaves to go to the bathroom.

 He drives his car into the school's car park

He comes out of the car while closing the door, some girls who were passing-by stopped to greet him

"Good day Mr marcelo sir" One of the girls said who seemed timid

"Oh good day young lady, how are you miss?" He replied nicely

"I'm fine sir" the timid girl replied while the other stared at him admiring his handsome features.

He nod at them and walked off

"Ahhhh he's so hot.. look at his broad chest, I could just lay my head on it for ages" the other finally spoke off 

"I can't believe he actually talked to me, he has such a masculine voice! He's like a hot male lead in a novel" the timid one said 

"Look at his car, he's also rich" 

Kate and Natalia walked passed them as they both kept fantasizing about him

"What are those two excited about?" Nat asked

"It's obviously The new lecturer, didn't you hear what they're saying about him" Kate said

"It's like everyone's suddenly in love with him" Nat rolled her eyes

"You know you can't deny that he's freaking hot...like smoking hot" 

"Alright fine, I get it, he's hot.. you didn't have to exaggerate it that much" Natalia rolled her eyes and walked ahead

"Hey! Wait up"

It was a normal day at college, after they were done with lectures for the day, Nat set off to go home

"Natalia" Kate said trying to catch up with her

"Yes?"

"Mr Marcelo has sent for you"

"For me?"

"Yes, I wonder what it could be about this time" Kate replied

Natalia reluctantly goes to his office

She knocks at the door, a voice answers and she opens the door

"Sir I heard you sent for me" She asked when she saw her lecturer sitting on a chair in his office with a test paper in his hands

 "Yes I did miss merkel, this is your test script" He said handing her the paper in his hands

She takes it and sees that she scored an F 

 "Miss merkel you could barely answer more than 2 questions " Dane said crossing his legs on top the other and folding his hands while staring at her intimidately 

"I'm sorry Mr Marcelo" She said trying to avoid his eyes due to embarrassment 

"Are you miss merkel? I've looked through your records and I must say, if you keep up with this, you might be forced to repeat this semester... you can leave" He said 

She glares at Dane and leaves his office embarrassed slamming the door shut.

He drives his car into his small garage beside the house

He inputs the passcode and enters, a golden retriever excitedly ran to him 

"Look who's here? I'm sure you must be hungry.. I left without giving you breakfast" he said patting his dog's head

 The dog shakes his head as if to reply him

"Good boy" he patted his head one more time before climbing the stairs to his room 

He pulls off his long sleeves shirt and pants when he reached his room, he entered the bathroom

After freshening up, he comes downstairs and goes to the open kitchen beside his living room, brings out dog's cereals from the cupboard and pours them in a plate

His phone beeps as he had received an inbox  

He serves his dog food and strolls over to the living room, he sat on the couch while he checks his phone

 It was a message from his ex girlfriend who he had just broken up with a few days back

'Dane, I'm sorry. You know how much I love you, I can never cheat on you, you misunderstood everything...Please give me a chance to explain myself to you' 

He chuckles after seeing the message and ignores 

He receives another message from his phone and he swears that it's his ex.

He checks the message and sees an important inbox from Mateo 

'Sorry for disturbing you bro, Stacy is in the hospital right now.. I don't know what's going on, can you just please come over'

He replies back with a text ' I'm on my way' while abruptly grabbing his car keys.

"Natalia?" Remy snaps his fingers in her face after repeatedly calling her name for about five times

"Huh? Yeah?" 

"What's wrong? I've being calling you for the past minute"

"I'm sorry, I was just distracted "

"You seem to be more distracted every passing day "

"I'm sorry about that "

"It's fine, just please don't get distracted again because the customers won't serve themselves"

Ever since she got back from college, her mind has being thinking about Dane's words

She didn't want to fail and have to repeat another year when she's close to graduating soon

  But how can she balance her strenious work life and her academics especially when work keeps getting hectic lately and she needs to gather enough money for her aunts medications and house bills.

At the hospital.

Mateo and Dane arrive at the hospital and they were directed to Stacy's ward.

Dane opens the door and they both enter the ward  staring at the heavily pregnant woman on the bed

 "Where the fuck have you being Mateo? " Stacy angrily said

"I was just out for about thirty minutes, the doctor told me you needed privacy" Mateo said sitting next to her

"Fuck privacy! Fuck...." 

"Calm down Stacy, Mateo was worried and didn't know what to do so he called me over, I could hear the worry in his voice when he called me... he is so worried for you and your child, we all are" Dane said comforting the paranoid pregnant woman

"Thank you Dane, whoever wins your heart is the luckiest woman, Mateo I'm sorry... it's this surge of hormones that's making me act so paranoid, I'm sorry " Stacy whined

"It's fine, I'm just glad nothing happened to you and the baby " Mateo said kissing her cheeks and Bump

"The doctor said the baby was just kicking, he's just trying to inform us that he's coming soon " Stacy said looking at her baby bump smiling

"Well you've gat a player in there if he's kicking like that" Dane said and they all laughed 

"Mateo, it's time we start doing the baby shopping, we've being postponing it for long, I'm already 27 weeks pregnant" Stacy said 

"Yeah sure, Dane and I will go shopping this weekend " Mateo said putting his arm around Dane's shoulder 

"When did I agree to that " Dane said moving his shoulder

"Did I ask for permission?" Mateo said glaring at Dane as if to tell him 'you have no choice'

Dane stares back at him with a more intimidating look that says 'You don't get to command me asshole'

"What are you guys doing?" Stacy asked breaking their eye contact 

"I was just telling Dane we'll go shopping on Saturday" Mateo said

Dane sighed.
