CHAPTER FIFTY-NINE: Unsolicited Help.

I lay very still on the bed, pretending to be asleep, but I almost falter when Roman gets into the bed and pulls me into him. He wraps his huge arms across my torso, practically chaining me to him.

I breathe in deeply softening my body against his, so as not to alert him of my consciousness.

“I'm sorry, princess.” Roman whispers into my hair before settling down beside me. What exactly was he sorry for? The past? Why won't anyone tell me anything? It was getting very exhausting.

I don't have to wait too long though as the sound of Romans even breathing permeates the room, breaking the quiet peace.

I remain still for some time before carefully rolling myself out from under his arms. I put a pillow in his arms to replace my figure just to be on the safe side.

I get down from the bed and tiptoe to the door, almost groaning in pain when I find that the door is locked.

I look around the room, wondering where Roman could have kept the key card. I eventually find it sitting prettily on
