"Tiffany." Just then, a stern female voice interrupted her.

Jade glanced up to find Tiffany's mother standing before them, her expression seething with anger. Without hesitation, Merida strode over and slapped Tiffany sharply.

With a crisp smack, Tiffany's face snapped to the side, and she slowly spat out the rest of her sentence. "I didn't have a choice."

Jade wanted to intervene, but it was too late. All she could do was look at Merida in shock and anger and question, "She's your daughter! What are you doing? Haven't you seen her foot still bleeding?!"
