Raelynn

I woke up from a deep, dreamless sleep to the sound of a heavy knocking on my room door.

Groggily, I tried getting up, but it proved quite difficult. I blinked to clear some of the sleep from my eyes when I noticed I wasn’t in my bed. I didn’t have a bedsheet with this pattern.

After much effort, I managed to get up, only to discover that I had fallen asleep on the bathroom floor.

I went to the sink and ran water over my face. As the water cascaded, I closed my eyes. When I opened them, I saw that the water had turned red.

‘What the hell!’ I yelled internally. ‘Why are you yelling this early in the morning?’ Lynn snapped, ‘Some people would like to rest, thank you very much.’

I ignored her as I stared at myself in the mirror, my hair looked like a bird’s nest— no surprise there. The large gash that extended from my left temple to my ear caught me off guard.

The pounding on the door became more fervent and louder. I quickly washed the blood from my face and rearranged my hair

RaelynnMy blaring alarm clock woke me up. I accidentally knocked it on the floor when I jerked my hand forward to turn it off.I groaned and sat up, massaging my tired eyes with my hand. I could feel the gentle morning breeze wafting through my room.I turned to look out the window and saw that it was open, which surprised me because I always closed it before going to bed.I looked around my room to see if there was anything wrong, but nothing caught my eye. I let out a tired sigh and hastily made my way from my bed to the bathroom, throwing away my clothes as I went.I stood in front of the mirror observing my features. My eyes looked sunken, and my previously bright skin appeared pale and dull. I knew something was wrong with me, I just did not know what yet, but I intended to find out quickly.I hurriedly went about my morning duties. Soon after I was dressed in a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt; the weather was quite chilly today. I grabbed my bag, stuffing it with my books and ho

Raelynn The moment I opened the door, I was assaulted by my mate's alluring scent. My hand froze on the doorknob, my body was unable to move— I was frozen on the spot. I didn’t expect my mate to search for me and single me out at school. Lynn wasn’t helping matters either; she was ready to take over my body any second and crash into her mate’s arms. I inhaled deeply, my heart thumping my chest so loudly you could hear it a hundred yards away.I heard a gruff voice yell, “Come in,” my feet moved in their own accord. I slowly shuffled into the room, turning around I locked the door behind me. I remained motionless, facing the door with my back to him. I couldn’t bring myself to face him. I heard the subtle clearing of his throat, “Rae,” he let out in a whisper. “Hey, Hey, look at me,” he called out from behind me. I could not bring myself to turn around; every time I looked at him, the incident from the weekend came to mind.‘He’s an alpha; the supreme alpha, you can’t turn your b

Alpha Lorenzo I woke up early this morning, after only a few hours of sleep.I sighed as I considered how much work I had to get done today. With a sigh, I take out my phone to call Conan.“Hey man, what’s good,” he called out after picking up at the second ring. "Have you informed the Alphas about my request?" I inquired as I walked towards the restroom."Yes, they should be ready for you by Friday," he said between yawns."Good," I grunted in response, "I believe the council is aware of this situation, so we need to tread carefully.”"If the council was aware, would they not take a less drastic approach?” Conan groggily asks."This has been on my mind all night; the council has always expressed their dislike for hybrids. I am sure they have a way to keep an eye on them. Around a dozen hybrids have been found dead in werewolf territory alone. You can’t tell me that the council is unaware,” I finished. "We will see, but we have to keep an eye on things," he grunted in response."An

Raelynn A rose-colored blush tinged my cheeks as my stomach grumbled. His deep chuckle permeated the air making me blush even harder. We were having a great time until my stomach decided to interrupt our moment.I watched as he reached for his phone, I tried not to snoop but it was open right in front of my face. “I can’t believe it’s so late,” he chuckled, shaking his head as he showed me the time, it was 5:30 pm. I gasped as I stood up; the girls were going to kill me.I scrambled towards his desk to retrieve my belongings.“Where are you going?” His deep voice broke my reverie. "I should head back to my dorm. Alison and Ashley would be wondering where I am.”I attempted to walk past him, but he pulled me back by my wrists into his embrace. My fingers landed on his chest as he looked down at me. "We should have a late lunch or dinner first. I can’t have a hungry mate running about to meet God knows who,” he said, his eyebrows narrowed as he pushed a stray hair behind my head.

Alpha Lorenzo I start to breathe erratically as my thoughts replay the video I was just watching. These rogue witches have some fucking nerve. "Alpha, a new body was discovered at the border recently, and unlike the previous time, it was a werewolf instead of a hybrid," Conan said, gasping for air.“What time was this body found?” I questioned. "9:30 p.m., by the patrol warriors," he said. "They are getting closer, bringing it closer to home. When it was just the hybrids that were killed, no drastic action was taken, but now they are attempting to force our hand," I concluded."Our current issue is that we still do not know why these drop-offs are happening. It is too unusual and unpredictable. They leave no clues at all. This video of the mutilation is the only solid lead we have received thus far.”“I’d be at the pack first thing tomorrow morning, get me a new phone. We need all the information we can get to identify these bastards, so get the IT team to start working on that vid

Alpha Lorenzo I ran a tired hand through my hair while looking through photos of the casualties left by the rogue witches when they attacked.I should be on top of this as the Supreme Alpha, but it seems like there is a new disaster waiting to happen around every corner. The longer I looked at the pictures and videos, the more frustration seeped into my bones.Suddenly, I was on my feet, throwing my chair against the wall and smashing my fist through the desk.I was furious as hell.Conan stormed into the office, his eyes sharp in search of the source of the commotion. As he looked around the room for the issue, an understanding expression crossed his face.I strode out of the office, glaring at anyone who thought it appropriate to peer into my office. 'We have a bunch of gossips in this pack, that will be taken care of,' Max grunted, growling, and all bystanders scampered away.I left Conan in the office because I knew he’d take care of the mess I made. I headed to my room to get rea

Alpha Lorenzo I woke to the first light of dawn filtering through the heavy curtains, its gentle warmth a stark contrast to the cold knot forming in my stomach. Something felt wrong. An uneasy tension hung in the air, one that couldn't be ignored. I threw off the covers and dressed quickly, each movement driven by an unspoken urgency.Stepping outside my room, I was met by Conan, his usually calm face marked by a grim expression. "Lorenzo," he began, his voice low, "There’s been an attack."The words hit me like a blow. "Who?" I asked, already fearing the answer."One of our own. The rogue witches struck in the night. We've lost Seth."Seth. A loyal pack member, always ready to protect his kin. The pain of his loss gripped my heart, but I couldn't afford to let it show. Not now. "Where?" I asked, my voice steady despite the turmoil inside."The clearing near the northern border. I thought you should see it yourself."I nodded, and together we made our way to the scene. Seth's li

Raelynn As the bell rang, indicating the end of classes, I sighed and walked out of the gym arena, with Ashley hot on my tail."Shit Rae, I am so sorry, I didn't mean to," Ashley said hurriedly, quickening her pace to catch up with me.I flopped down on a bench in the locker room, stretching my arm to ease the pain in my shoulders.Ashley sat beside me on the bench. She had her apologetic face on, and I knew that without even looking at her.“I’m so sorry, I don’t know what came over me, it was an accident,” she apologized while scanning my body. “It’s cool, the whole point of the class is to be the best warriors possible.” I shrugged her off, irritated by her continuous apology. This week has been tense for all three of us. Ashley has been going through the motions ever since we blindly pursued her mate's scent, only for it to vanish.Today was rage day because she fought as if she meant to cause harm.I sighed, stretching my aching limbs as Alison approached us.“Hey girls, are y

RaelynnThe sun shone through the thick velvet curtains of our room and illuminated everything with a warm, golden light. The warmth of it kissed my skin, reminding me that this was no dream...this was my reality.A reality that only a few years ago, seemed like a world impossible to conceive, completely shattered into pieces that I would never be able to pick up. Yet here I am, so much stronger and smarter and more at peace than I have ever been in my life.As I lay in bed, listening to the soft rustling of the leaves outside and the distant chirping of birds welcoming the new day, I couldn’t help but reflect on how far I’ve come. The memories of my past, once sharp and painful, now seemed like faded shadows in the back of my mind. The pain of loss and betrayal, the paralyzing fear that I experienced during those days of darkness seemed like a dream…a nightmare that I had finally woken up from.My life had changed so much since those days. I thought of the darkness that had so nearly

Alpha LorenzoI wait outside the door to the dungeon the cold stone walls closing in around me. My hear beats faster the rage just below the surface.I need to do this. For Raelynn. For my pack. For all those who have been tormented by the life of valentine and his warped disciples. The door squeaks and I enter the somewhat dark hallway. It is damp and musty in there, with the drip of water bouncing off the walls. The guards nod their heads to me, with a very serious look on their faces. They know why I’m here. They know what I’m about to do.Valentine's cell is all the way at the end of the dungeon, away from all the others. I would have wanted him alone, removed from the rest of his nasty little gang. The man deserves no comfort, no company. Not after everything he’s done.I stand before his cell holding the cold iron bars. Valentine sits in there, perched on a little bench with his hands cuffed together in front of him.The look of pride and arrogance is no longer there, but instea

Alpha LorenzoWe step outside of the building and the heat from the fire engulfs us, and at that moment, I feel Raelynn's body drop from my arms. She's out of breath, out of energy, and I pick her up and carry her the remainder of the way.“Conan, take care of Valentine and his scientists, I shout over my shoulder as we make our way to the waiting SUVs. “Round them all up. No one gets away.”Conan nods, his expression grim. “You got it, Alpha. We’ll make sure they pay for what they’ve done.”I nod, my focus on Raelynn as I lay her gently in the back seat of one of the SUVs. She’s unconscious, her breathing shallow, and I feel a surge of panic. I can’t lose her. Not now.“Go! I shout to the driver, and the SUV speeds away from the burning building, the flames reflected in the rearview mirror. I cradle Raelynn in my arms, my heart beating hard against my chest.“We’re almost there, I whisper, brushing a strand of hair from her face. “Just hold on a little longer, love. You’re going to b

Alpha LorenzoSo I pound my fist on the aluminum door as hard as I can, and I keep pounding and the door starts to cave in. Every hit vibrates up my arm, but I bite down on my tongue and continue. Raelynn is on the other side. I can feel her presence through our bond, faint but unmistakable. My entire body is on fire from the exertion, beads of sweat drip from my face into my eyes, but I will not give up. I can’t. Not when I’m this close. The dent in the door is minor, almost unnoticeable, but it is there. So I put all of my strength, and my anger, and my hopelessness into one last punch and I hope that it is.Then, without warning, a rush of warmth washes over the door. I yank my hand back, startled. The metal is red hot and I have to back up so I don't get burnt.I stare in disbelief as fire dances around the border of the door and the metal contorts and melts like some unseen force is wrenching it asunder.“What the hell…” I mutter, my eyes wide. This isn’t just fire; it’s somethin

RaelynnI’ ve been planning this for weeks. The smallest mistakes could cost me everything, so I’ve waited, watching, studying every guard’s routine. I’ve observed their movements, noted their shifts, even the way they carry themselves when they think no one is looking. One guard, in particular, caught my eye…small, unassuming, always on edge as if the very walls were closing in on him. I could see it in his eyes, the fear, the sweat above his brow whenever he was around me. And that made him my target.Well, this morning he was on walking post by my cell and I just knew it was time. He did not even realize how easily he was being played with. The shadows that had been my friends in darkness reached out to take his thoughts, pushing his focus away. A ripple of my fingers and the shadows told him of distant cares and his mind floated just enough for me to move.I moved silently, my fingers deft and quick, slipping into his pocket as he turned away. The cold metal of the key against my

I can feel it in my bones. “Alright,” I say, my voice steady but hard. “We
