KRYSTAL'S POINT OF VIEW

The limousine was parked outside the massive and busy mansion, and my eyes sparkled at how massive this house was. This is my first time seeing this kind of lovely home, especially since the massive fountain draws my attention. Marcus sent me a black gown with a small slit in the side and a mask to cover my eyes yesterday.

He didn't say anything on the package, so I had no choice but to wear it to this opulent event. Whatever event this is, I'm sure it's not a typical celebration because everyone is dressed up in very fancy gowns and jewelries. The limousine door opened, and the butler assisted me.

"Wow..." I said quietly.

"Madame, good evening. Master Marcus requested that you wait in the private room "a man said as I stepped onto the massive stairwell.

"Of course."

He led the way, and I followed him around the mansion, where everyone was talking about the party and I couldn't relate because I wasn't as wealthy as them. I approached the luxurious chair when the butler open the door.

I was left alone in this room, and my eyes were drawn to the luxurious items in the room. Those paintings that appear to have come from an auction, as well as the furnitures that can be seen in the luxurious shop that only available for wealthy people. Marcus must be extremely wealthy, and I hope he's not insane enough for hiring me.

Soon after, the door opened, revealing him to me. He walked closer to me while wearing a matching black tuxedo and mask.

"That dress looks good on you," he said.

"You too," I said as my cheeks flushed.

"I'm delighted to see you on this special evening. I was about to cancel this party when I heard nothing from you, which is why I'm relieved, Krystal."

His soothing voice lingers in my ears long enough to slow my heartbeat. Everyone desire on meeting the famous, handsome Marcus Glenn Miller, and must say I'm the luckiest.

"How come you invited me into this wealthy party?" To alleviate my uneasy feeling, I inquired.

"Remember, you're my wife. They must meet you because the entire world has been dying to find out who my wife is after that rumor," He responded.

"Why me?" I wondered.

"I beg your pardon?" he chuckled.

"Why did you choose me out of all the girls in the world whose been dying to be with you?"

"Do I have to respond that several times, Krystal? I thought my answer is already enough for you to agree?"

"Another answer won't harm you," I replied.

"Fine. You didn't seem like the type of woman who would be easily abandoned after the deal, especially since you'd been wanting to work for me for so long. I chose you to be my lucky acting wife. Consider it your dream come true after I summon you, and offer a job that everyone has been desiring to achieve."

I didn't answer and remain looking at his face.

He exhaled, "Krystal, here's the deal. You do your job, and I will do mine. Your job is to fill the empty seat left by my wife, and you must do so in a realistic manner."

"Noticed," I'm nervous, and my heart is racing.

He extended his hand to me, causing me to look at him and notice his enticing smile. I swallowed and took it. We start approaching the door, which revealed the busy floor. Everyone gasped and smiled at us, and the music abruptly stopped. It became a source of additional anxiety for me.

Not until Marcus wrapped his hand around my waist. I turned to him and he gave me a calming smile that was enough to calm my heart before he took the mic from the party's host. He then greets everyone. The guests' smiles are genuine, as if I belong in this realm and they accept me completely.

Despite my nerves, I can still feel content and elated; this is the life I want to live. I wanted to know what it was like to be a part of humanity. Acceptance by the world, including become part of the unfair world. I want to be the kind of woman who doesn't have to beg for what she wants... I aspire to be that woman...

"Gentlemen and Ladies, I'm delighted to see you all here. I invited you to this unexpected party solely to inform you of some important information about myself. Also, I'd like to thank everyone who has helped me grow."

"I began as a simple entrepreneur, hoping to help those in need and to build one of the city's most well-known modeling agencies. I received numerous awards for being the top wealthy young man, and I thank you all for that."

The audience, including myself, applauds.

"We raised $500,000 for all of the people in the charity, and we help thousands of people in need all over the world. I couldn't have achieved this level of success without the help of everyone. As a result, I thank everyone for keep supporting my team and me."

Marcus gripped my hand tightly and smiled at me before returning his gaze to the crowds.

"As you can see, everyone has been asking me disturbing questions over the last few years. I thought about it for a long time before deciding to reveal my secret marriage with my wife."

The crowd begins to whisper and gasp, as if no one expected to hear this news. My heart began to beat faster once more. What if I let him down and am unfit to be his wife? What if none of them think I'm his wife?

I swallowed, hoping that they would.

"So, the rumor true is really true, Marcus?" The lady inquired.

He chuckled and raised my hand with his hand on it "Of course it's true. My wife and I have been married for over a year now."

The cameras begin to flash, which increased my anxiety. I hope this event already over!

"Marcus, she's breathtaking. We're not surprised if you decided to keep her hidden because of her beauty that is very appealing, and many men may want to steal her from you," Another woman speaks up.

"You got it, Mrs. Waller. Everyone, please. I'd like to introduce you to my lovely wife, Krystal Louise Dawson-Williams. She's going to be my business partner from now on."

He handed me the mic and wink at me.

"I'm glad to finally be out of my husband's shadow because it's getting boring in there," I said as I took a deep breath.

Marcus was among those who laughed to my joke.

"I don't want to ruin the night by me becoming too dramatic, so let's get the party started."

The music starts playing, and everyone applauds. They accept me, which made me feel relieved. I was content and at ease... Even with his warm hand ensuring that I'm in the right place, which I am...

"You did an excellent job, Krystal."

My gaze was drawn to him after he reach for my cheeks, and then kissed me passionately and tenderly. Those kisses make me feel like he really means it... Like this isn't a game at all...
