Detective Ramirez sat across from Lillian and Mr. Alfred in the small interrogation room, his expression serious as he prepared to question them about Mrs. Alfred's death.

"Lillian, Mr. Alfred, thank you for coming in today," Detective Ramirez began, his tone measured. "I understand this is a difficult time for your family, but we need to gather some information about Mrs. Alfred's passing."

Lillian nodded, her eyes red-rimmed from crying. "Of course, Detective. We want to help in any way we can," she replied, her voice trembling slightly.

Mr. Alfred sat silently beside his daughter, his hands clasped tightly in his lap.

"Can you tell me when you last saw Mrs. Alfred?" Detective Ramirez inquired, his gaze focused on Lillian.

Lillian took a deep breath, her mind racing as she recalled the events of the past few days. "I last saw my mother yesterday morning," she answered, her voice steadier now. "She seemed upset and mentioned she needed some time alone."
