“Okay, we’ll start with some basic questions which may help your memory on certain aspects.” Jackson says with a smile pulling his pen out, Catia only rolls her eyes before taking a look out of the window. “So, when was the last time you saw Mario?” He asks writing the question down in his notebook, while I was more focused on taking in my surroundings.

“It would have been around 4 years ago now; he came here and was telling me he needed to hide some things around the house until whatever agency was looking into at that time stopped.” She says in a bored tone, you could tell right off the bat that she wasn’t interested in anything that Jackson was asking.

“Do you have any idea what he wanted to hide here?” Jackson asks which now he was putting a spotlight on what she said, it did tell me that maybe something that we need to find him is hidden in this house.

“I don’t have a clue, I know the type of things my son liked to get up to in his life, I wouldn’t want to know what shady shit

Jackson looks back down at the box in a loss for words type way, I was also shocked that I had been able to find it accidentally. But why would Mario want to hide it here, I can’t see fully what’s inside the box but from what I can see, it’s nothing that incriminating. Jackson clears this throat while placing the lid back onto the box, so I won’t be looking in that again until we’re done here. “Would you mind if we take this with us?” He asks turning around to Catia, she also looked confused as she sat at the table watching this all unfold. “Of course, I have no use for that as I didn’t even know it was there.” She says which was really nice of her, she could have told us no due to wanting to protect her son. “Thank you for agreeing to this interview, we have taken so much of your time already so we will leave now. But if you have any more information or just need to talk to us, give me a call.” Jackson smiles reaching into his jacket and pulling out his card, but I could tell by h

We soon arrive home where I was able to take my contacts out of my eyes, I know I said how easily I can take contacts out, but I’ve never done it this much. I soon join Jackson in the kitchen where he was still looking in the box of things, but once he spots me standing there, he sends me a smile. “Back to Ally with your beautiful green eyes.” He smiles which did make me blush slightly, I take a look down a little embarrassed that he just compliments my eyes. “While you were upstairs, I looked more into all of this and found that some photos have dates on them.” He explains holding up one of the photos, it read 15th February 2017, it even said where it was taken. “He was really keeping track of everything that girl was doing.” I say taking a seat at the counter so I could also see, but an idea soon comes into my mind. “Couldn’t we get a map and start to pinpoint where every picture was taken, would that help us at all?” I ask looking over at Jackson who smiles again, all this man do

Jackson opens up his front door allowing me to walk in first, I send him a smile as a thank you before making my way into the house. As I walk in, I take a look around, but something was standing out to me, this house doesn’t seem like it really gets lived in. “Either you’re a clean freak and have to clean every section on your house constantly or, you don’t spend much of your time at home.” I say taking my sunglasses off now we were in the house, he throws his keys in a bowl by his door while shaking his head. “Your second guess is right, with the work that I do I’m never home. Especially, these last few weeks, my time has been spent with you.” He smiles walking into a different room for a second before emerging with a white board, does he really have one of those just laying around? “How lucky that you get to spend most of your time with me.” I say placing my hand to my heart, this alone makes him laugh as he places down the whiteboard which already had a map taped to it. “You’ve

I wake up laying on Jackson’s sofa, I look up rubbing my eyes to see I had a white blanket placed over me which did make me smile. Jackson must have not wanted to wake me up, I begin to look around, but I couldn’t see him anywhere. The board with the map was still where it was last time, in red ink sat writing but before I could begin to read what it says, I hear noise from what I’m guessing is the kitchen. Jackson was playing music where I could hear him singing, I shake my head sitting up more before a memory starts to fill my head. When I went upstairs the night my dad was taken and my life changed forever, I heard him singing in the kitchen whilst cooking. This does make me look down with a sigh a little, maybe if I had waited in the kitchen a little longer, I could have helped. Before I could dwell on that thought any longer, the singing gets closer and in seconds, a happy looking Jackson stood by the door holding food and wearing an apron. “Good morning, Ally, it’s great to s

Jackson and I were just leaving the office, he didn’t ask me what happened, but I would catch him sending me a smile. I mean the door to my mother's office was wide open, anyone that was in the general area of the door would have heard what happened. I’m having no part to play in my mum and her stupid suspected lover, trying to deceive my best friend. But I have to say, it was nice to see that someone cared enough about me to kick up a fuss. “So, what have we got planned for today?” I ask as we reach Jackson’s car, he unlocks it putting his hand to his chin like he was thinking. “How about we stay in your mother's house all day looking at the walls?” He asks jokingly as I open up his door, I let out a laugh as footsteps behind me begin to get closer to us. “Miss Carter?” A man’s voice says which makes me grow rather confused, I turn my head away from Jackson’s car to look behind me, where an older looking guy with his hands in his suit trousers was smiling over at me. “Who’s askin

The car ride from what everyone calls the base, was long and quiet. I could tell Jackson didn’t know what to say to try and make this situation any better, while I was trying to stop myself from crying over everything, I had told that man but also my mother. Everything I said was true, I have always felt that way even when I was really young. But I knew that I could never talk to anyone about it, my dad could just tell by looking at my face that whenever my mum would come home for a short period of time, I would feel so awkward and try to avoid her at all costs. But right after she left, I would start to regret it as I never had the chance to see her, and I threw it away because I was hiding. “Maybe this is a bad time to bring up Mario, but last night after you fell asleep, I was able to find a new lead.” Jackson says finally breaking the silence as we pull up at his house, I wipe my final tear from my eye before looking over at him with a smile. “It’s always the right time for the

I didn’t know what to say as I watched the man that kidnapped my dad, with the man that turned hulk on me checking into the hotel together. I mean I said what were the chances that Mario was there the month before Allison and Derek got engaged, but to see he was there with Derek! What in the heck is happening right now?! “We need a copy of this page in the book and that clip from the video, send it over to here as soon as possible.” Jackson says writing something down on a piece of paper and handing it to the man, he looks down smiling at Jackson. “Right away sir.” He smiles before turning and walking out of the room once again, once the door closes, I stand up from my seat and begin to walk around the room. “I just want to confirm something before I go off on what I think will be a tiny mental breakdown.” I say as Jackson looks down at his notebook in his hand before nodding his head. “Was that man, which was with Mario, the same man that is engaged to the missing agent and the sa

In no time at all, I was standing on Jackson’s shoulders attempting to pick the lock on my mother's office window. This wasn’t even the hardest part of Jackson’s amazing idea, we had to sneak into a base which is heavily guarded! We had to army crawl through a bush! “Would you explain to me again why we have to go through all of this trouble to send my mother an anonymous tip, I still don’t understand why we can’t just send her an email?” I say while still trying to wiggle the lock, this window is much harder to unlock than any door I have come across! “Like I keep saying, I work here so I know how things go. If we send your mother an email, it will most likely go to her spam folder where she will either never see it or brush it off as ridiculous. But now we’re placing the tip with evidence on her desk, she’ll know that we’re serious without having to know who we are.” He explains as I’m finally able to get some movement with the lock, at least I know it’s not a lost cause. “But ho

I better fill you in before you get too confused, yes, I own my own restaurant now. After everything with Mario and the base, I knew it was time I had to head back to my old life and start working in the same boring restaurant I had for years. Let’s just say, I wasn’t too thrilled about it all. My mother saw my reaction and asked why don’t I train up and become an agent, I had proven myself over the months working with Jackson and was the key role in catching Mario. The offer of course, sounded tempting but I knew it wasn’t what I was meant to do. Yes, I had the best experience getting to watch what happens and learn on the job what it offers, but I don’t think

Not even an hour later, Jackson and I were waiting behind the van with the team. The house was only a two-minute walk from here, but we needed to come up with an action plan, everyone having the mutual understanding of how unpredictable Mario can be on the best of days. But when we show up, he will soon realise, there is no way out now and he’ll need to pay for everything he has done to so many people. We don’t even want to know what he’ll do once he realises it’s all over for him, the most unpredictable man will get that much more unpredictable. Jackson was going over with the team of how we will enter the house, the unruly garden will be a perfect cover while they access the situation and make sure my mother and Mario are really there. No one was even talking about how many ways this could go wrong, all of our minds were focused on the job of getting my mother back safely and bringing Mario in. I think if I had allowed myself the moments to think all of this over in detail, I woul

An hour later, Jackson and I were walking into the base hand in hand. Now my mother has been taken by Mario, and Reece is in the hospital getting treated for being ambushed, Jackson was the boss. We needed a plan to one find where Mario has taken my mother but two, think of a way to bring Mario in without having what happened the last time. I’m led into a room which I had never seen before, it had people at desks filling the entire room. Who all turned to look at us as we walked in, paying extra attention to mine and Jackson’s interlocked fingers. I know it seems highly unprofessional that we’re doing this but let’s be honest, we all knew it was going to happen at some point! Right in the middle of the desks was a circle desk, one big computer in the middle with a bunch of people having panicked conversations with each other. In the centre of those panicked people stood Alison, who also looked worried. But once she turned to look at us, I see relief wash over her senses. “You’re fi

  • The Spies Daughter    Chapter Forty-Two: Jackson

The car ride felt like it was going on for hours, the tracker hadn’t moved since we had been following him but with every street we would turn down, it would feel like more would be added on. Jackson was going the ways I was telling him and was shocked we were in the part of town we were, according to Jackson, this is where most of the police officers and higher ups live. Mario was hiding right under their noses, and they had no idea. But let’s be honest, Mario is very good at what he does, he knew they wouldn’t be looking for him in their part of town, so that’s exactly where he hid. “It seems like the tracker is right on this next street.” I say looking down at my phone, the feeling of finally, being able to find my father at the forefront of my mind. Jackson turns the corner, where a huge office building which towered over all the other buildings stood. I take a look down at my phone and see the tracker seems to be within the building, Mario really wasn’t trying to hide in that p

Around half an hour later, we were all on our way towards the building my father would always tell me to remember to go there if something bad happens. Jackson and I were in front in his car while my mother and Reece, were in their car travelling right behind us. For once, I wasn’t nervous about heading to this place, it’s somewhere I had been before but also, a place my father told me I’d be safe if anything happens. Why didn’t I think of this when my father first went missing? What if all we need to stop Mario is in this building? I tell Jackson to take this final right turn where the building soon comes into view, the building itself not changing from the few years I had been here. I don’t take my eyes off the place even after Jackson parks the car, both of our attentions going to this building. “Ready?” Jackson asks turning to look at me with a smile, I take a deep breath nodding my head before we both open the doors and climb out where my mother and Reece were already waiting o

The following day I wake up bright and early, now I knew I could play a key main role in finding my father, I wasn’t wasting anytime. I was even downstairs making breakfast for Jackson and I, normally, it’s the other way around. But I felt thankful for the way he was helping me, he was forced into this babysitting position, where he has been nothing but kind and compassionate even when I have been anything but easy going. Jackson soon walks into the kitchen where he comes to an abrupt stop, I was unsure if this was because I was in the kitchen before he had even woken up or because I was cooking. Before he had time to speak, he had a plate of eggs, bacon and beans in his hands. “What’s the occasion?” He asks taking a seat at the counter looking down at the food I had made, I smile turning around with my glass of water and join him on the counter. “There’s no occasion, I just couldn’t really sleep and thought it would be nice if I make you breakfast this time.” I smile as he takes h

Jackson and I soon arrive back home, the incident with Peter still fresh on my mind as we walked through the door. I know my mum said a close friend of mine was looking into my disappearance, could that close friend be Peter? Now I’m thinking, I don’t think any of my other friends would go through the trouble. Was Peter just randomly at the restaurant and happened to bump into me, or was he there in hopes of finding more information about me? There are so much unanswered questions, which I probably won’t get the answers to until all of this is over. “After that food, I think I need to lay down for a year.” Jackson says closing the door behind us, after all of that with Peter, I’m shocked he can just go back to normal life. I smile towards him as he throws his keys on the counter beside the front door, switching the lights on. But once they were on, we both jump from shock and surprise to see my mother and Reece sat on the sofa looking at us. “Why the fuck are you in my house sitti

It was now dinner time the same day, Jackson and I had done nothing but sit on the sofa, watch tv and talk about the most random of things. I know I have been saying I want nothing more than to catch Mario, which means I won’t stop until he’s found. That still remains true, and I want to work any hour I can until I find him, but I actually enjoyed today. I didn’t have to worry what would happen if Jackson and I were to make the wrong move, I didn’t have to sit and listen to all of the horrible details of the kind of things Mario has done to so many people. I felt like I was just a normal person going through their normal life for once. For dinner, Jackson suggested we go out to a restaurant to eat which at first, I was worried about Mario, but I knew he probably wouldn’t try to attack us I mean, he wants my help on more tasks so injuring me in anyway won’t be beneficial to him. The dinner was so delicious, we had picked food up at this place multiple times since I started staying at

It was later the same day, and I was just getting ready for bed, the entire rest of the day was spent with me, and Jackson sat at the base telling them what had happened. The number of times I had to explain the story of me talking on the phone with Mario was insanity! But that’s not the only part of the story I had to relive in great detail, but the moment we found Derek was also spoken about more times than I could count on my hands. Every time I would have to go over in great detail what happened, the image of his body lying there facing me, his eyes wide open looking terrified kept repeating over in my mind. I felt as though I needed to wash myself repeatedly to get whatever was in the air off me, but still the thought of Derek looking back at me wouldn’t leave. After getting changed, I look at myself in the mirror, my eyes also looking terrified just as Derek’s did. “Pull yourself together Ally.” I whisper to myself in hopes I would start to calm down, but still the feeling wou
