Chapter 3 He Finally Met Her

Nathan walked upstairs when he heard Stephanie screamed angrily. Her voice is loud enough to be heard from the whole penthouse. He saw Barbara walk out quickly from her bedroom. Nathan smiled at Barbara as he continued walking. 

“No time to be angry or sad, we have an important meeting later and most likely we need to fly to New York for a consortium meeting.” He told Stephanie 

“What?” She turned her face to him, still angry

“The government contract, we got it but we have to involve the American companies on it, that’s the condition we should accept” Nathan explained to her 

“.....” She looked angrier but Nathan cut her 

“Keep your emotion for now, you definitely need that later in New York.” Nathan told her while he smiled widely

“I really hate those American consortiums, you need to be tough on them!” He said it as he left her, walking downstairs. Stephanie quickly grabbed her bag and walked behind him. Barbara was waiting downstairs, when she saw Nathan and Stephanie walked, she decided to speak up.

“Madam, breakfast?” 

“NO!” She walked past her, Nathan just smiled bitterly to Barbara and both of them left the penthouse, heading to the office.

After meeting

“It really pissed me off when we’re the one who have to travel to New York regularly!” Stephanie said to Nathan as both of them exiting the building, heading to the smoking area

“I never like that city, never!” Nathan added

“Full of annoying billionaire people?” Stephanie asked as she laughed hard

She quickly lit her cigarette when they arrived. However, Nathan went silent for a moment before saying, “Care to tell what’s happened?” He asked her about this morning incident at the penthouse

“Martin went to Chicago” She said it shortly without additional explanation

Nathan quickly understood what it is about, he then said “I wish one day things would change….” He looked away to the street 

“I am okay! Don’t worry” Stephanie patted his shoulder, put a fake smile in front of him

“Don’t you dare to fake your smile in front of me girl! I knew you better than yourself!” Nathan warned her

“I think….” He hasn’t finished his words when Stephanie cut him

“Don’t suggest me for another ONS or to find other men…” She said to him as she threw away her cigarette 

“Martin found out about my ONS and he was mad,” Stephanie added

“No way! I tried my best!” Nathan was surprised. He did his job perfectly, deleting all the evidence in the club and kept people silent on it, but in the end, he can’t compete with Martin. He is too powerful and he can get whatever he wants, for sure. 

“Well, we know how capable he is!” Stephanie patted his shoulder and started to walk

“I want to eat Sushi” She said to Nathan, who quickly threw his cigarette and walked after her

“As you want, baby girl!”

Stephanie went home and found that Martin hadn't arrived yet. She couldn’t help but felt angry. She dialed Nathan’s number.

“Let’s go to New York tomorrow morning!” 

They walked out from the private jet around afternoon and quickly headed to the hotel. 

“Wanna go out tonight?” Nathan asked before they went to their room separately 

“Why not?” She agreed to his idea shortly. She still angry toward Martin, she need to lose it for a while

After dinner, both of them headed to one of the luxury clubs around Manhattan. 

“So, just drinking?” Nathan teased her

“I don’t dare to offend Martin again, Nathan!” Stephanie warned him

“Alright” Nathan smiled at her

Meanwhile, Liam dragged Luke to the club, trying to help his best friend to get a hooker. Luke was angry the whole day since his plan for the whole week business trip to Europe is scattered because their business partner from San Francisco  suddenly called for a consortium meeting tomorrow. He threw himself on the sofa, poured whiskey to his glass. Unlike Liam who enjoyed other women's company, Luke only drank the whole night. When he had enough whiskey, he stood and lazily scanned the club from his VIP seat. He was a little bit tipsy when he saw Stephanie in the club. 

‘Steph….’ He called her name with a weak voice

“Luke...come here!” Liam called him

He turned his face to Liam for a while but he turned to the place where he saw Stephanie. He lost her, she wasn’t there. ‘Maybe it's just my hallucination! It is New York anyway, she is in San Francisco’ He told himself as he walked toward Liam

“The meeting is at 9 am sharp and they want us to go to their hotel! WTF!!!” Liam complained while Luke just walked lazily next to him, heading to the meeting room. 

“I’ll go to the toilet first!” he told Liam when he saw the toilet sign just right before the meeting room was located.  

Liam nodded to him and walked to the meeting room with James, leaving Luke behind. As he was about to reach the gents toilet, a woman who was busy on the phone, walked passing him. He saw her back and suddenly it reminded him of Stephanie. He was surprised for a while and thought, ‘Is that her?’ 

He suddenly decided to go after her, he walked to the ladies toilet and when he entered, he saw a woman who was fixing her makeup in front of the mirror. It is her, his Stephanie…..
